We didn't have to pay any extra fees to downgrade our room. TA told us we would have a refund on our credit card in a few days.

We have always chosen a room so waiting to see if we get an upgrade is different for us. Now I have something else to obsess about besides trying to get Palo reservations.

I noticed that Palo is not offered on our first night. Is it open that night? We've never tried to book then. But we'll try anything this year.

We get more excited every day about this cruise.

We do have all of our excursions booked.

Barcelona - none (We're going to be on the sidewalk in front of the terminal at sunrise to get early in the boarding line (again for Palo)
Naples - Ponpeii, Sorrento and Capri although since we have saved so much money we may hire a private tour for this as well.
Palermo - none
Olbia - Lacinta Beach early
Civitavecchia - hiring a private tour
Laspezia - Wine Tasting and Sarzana - We just couldn't take 2.5 hours in a bus each way
Marseille - none
Villefranche - Hightlights o fMonaco an Monte Carlo including the Grand Casino

Great news on the savings. Did you have to pay a cancellation fee to rebook at category 12?

This is not a done deal yet. Sue Ellen is going to do it this morning. I checked Disney again this morning and the offer was still there.

There are no fees to switch catagories......when this is all done I will let you know what the final # is.

We are 2 adults, DD13 and DD11. We are switching from Cat 9 to CAt 12.

I hope it all goes all right as I have settled on this solution now.

Good luck returning on Monday. I'm sure the kids will be thrilled to see you. Just take it easy for a few days. You will be more tired than normal until your body gets used to the routine.

Best of luck with the flights. We are flying Iberia out of JFK on the 25th and back on the 8th. The fare is more expensive now, but better than nothing.

Once you board the ship, go right to Palo. If you still can't get anything, keep checking back each day. They always have cancellations. Good Luck.

Best of luck with the BP. Once DH's was under control, those awful headaches were gone. Stress is a big part of it. Relaxing is easier said than done.

Thanks, the science papers were today it seemed fair to us and the children seemed happy, quite a bias towards changes of state and very little forces work!

Good luck with going back to work I can understand your nervousness things move so fast in school you can feel out of the loop really fast, however by the same logic it also means that by the end of week one you'll feel like you were never away!

I'm glad you had Ofsted thats one of my big stressors right now. We've not been done for 6 years 2 terms, so we're well overdue, everyday I'm waiting for the call and it's becoming more and more stressful, I don't think we'll do too badly but I just want it to be over

Still 9 more working days until half term and then we can really start to count the days to the cruise.

When do you break up Helen? I notice you will be in Barcelona precruise we finish on Wednesday 25th July.

Also, got another piece of Disney mail - new Castaway Cay member cards. It briefly says that there are new things coming for CC members and lists some stuff which I think I knew before, so not sure if more stuff is coming. Says to check the website under Castaway Cay Club.

Update on no Airline Tickets​

I just heard back from Disney and Sue Ellen @ Dreams. By changing to a CAT 12 instead of a CAT 9, my credit card will be credited $5,279.20. That is a lot of money!!

We will for sure get an upgrade to CAT 11....because CAT 12 can not hold 4 people. So now, It is kinda fun, having no idea what our room # will be. What an adventure

I can book the airfare now.....looks like Air France. We will fly from Dulles to Paris and spend the night in Paris and then onto BCN and spend the night there. I will be at the port at 4am.....wait to board the ship!!

Do you think the transfers will work at that hour??

Lanyard Status:
Still taking orders for lanyards and badge reels.
Waiting on a reply from DCL regarding the political correctness of the lanyard design - trying to make sure it doesn't violate any copyrights or trademarks.
Waiting on a sample of the badge holder from the vendor to make sure its a good fit for the key to the world card.

Timeline: Would like to get the lanyard order in before June 15th latest. Which means I need everyone's payment prior. If we end up changing the lanyard design again, I will need re-confirmation from everyone that you still plan on buying the lanyard before I start collecting money. We need a minimum order of 100 lanyards.

Payment: Please don't send money now since I would like to get the lanyard design settled first. I prefer payment via paypal (can't accept funds from an upgraded paypal account cause I get charged fees) but will take a check. For info coming when we get the lanyard design settled.

I was thinking of ordering once I get everyone's payment and bringing them to Barcelona or the DIS meetup to pass out.

Please note: I called the lanyard maker and DCL regarding the design of these lanyards and if there were any copyright or trademarked problems. Both told me they were OK with it since we are using them for personal use and not selling them (thats why I need your payment first before I put the order in). Although DCL said that the design is OK, they said there is a small chance that guest services may request that we not wear the lanyard (I guess if the Disney police are onboard). ETA: I have since emailed DCL a picture of the lanyard design to get another confirmation that the design is OK. No word yet.

I posted this on the previous page, but in case you haven't seen. Some people were confused on how things attach together. Hopefully, this will clear it up:

Here is the lanyard with the badge holder (except ours will be vertical)

Here is the lanyard with badge reel (except ours will come as two pieces: a lanyard with J hook (as shown in the above pic). Each badge reels has a belt clip in back. The J hook hooks on the belt clip of the badge reel. See the little tab on the badge reel? That will snap onto the top of the badge holder. The badge holder will hold your Key to the World card.
