Why am I still doing homework after all this time? :confused3

Come on! We can do this!! Brainstorming accepts all ideas! :thumbsup2

Joann I think Andrew's MEDicated is a play on the fact the magic is in the Med!! Maybe it's an English humour thing! :goodvibes

The Magic in Europe Disney cruisers for short MED Cruisers! :rotfl2:
The Latin Magic Cruisers ( sounds rude to me!)
Roaming( Rome-ing) Magic Cruisers
Sorry I know they are bad I'm struggling with this one!

Thx, Lynn for the English tutorial, I totally needed that! So do we like that or will some not completely understand it? :confused3 :cheer2:

Yes for the Med, and it makes you feel better.

Posted this on the main board on Med trips but worth a look here as well:-

Just back from a land trip to Greece, it was very good, someone was asking about shore trips I posted this link before it might help it is for Celebrity cruise line but will give you an idea what DCL could do.

Secondly just coming back from the Med today, it was very interesting to see another point of view on cruisers. Staying on land this time, I saw on two separate days lots of cruises on shore trips.

At one place six cruise ships were in and this being the Eastern Med I would say the vast majority were Americans and enjoying themselves. At another place six tour buses full of RCCL's cruisers turned up, making the right choice of excursion. They went to a beautiful town and would have had a great day.

However some had stayed at the port and whilst I was having a meal I overheard comments, they were reading at lunchtime the ships newsletter about the port, a bit late then they had missed out on a great trip. One had been to the ships presentation on shore excursions but must have got the wrong impression as there view of a trip was totally wrong.

Its interesting how you can be fooled, a comment that the local buses and taxis are unreliable was totally incorrect, but I am sure this was said to sell an excursion and put people off. Italy has good train services so does Spain.

In summary, if you are going to a new place, do your homework, books, Internet etc., see what you want to do and then go for it.

Lastly the part of the Med I visited this week was 35c, that's very hot and in late may and early June, Italy and Spain get very hot, plan for that as well.

Above all everyone seemed to be enjoying their trip there's a lot on offer. For example I know Naples well and there are 5/6 A list places to visit not just Pompeii

One fun point RCCL's tours were 1 2 3 4 how boring I like the Disney stickers far better!

Not much happening here I thought I would bump a bit, thank you for the couple of PM's re information posted.

Thx for the tips, Andrew, I'm going to start my research as soon as school lets out!!!! :thumbsup2

Hi everyone :wave2:

Not on much. Our desktop computer went and we just received and hooked up this new one (from Dell). Was mostly reading from my son's laptop. Do not like keyboard and could not do the highlight thing when I read threads from laptop.

Just wanted to check in and for the first time, yesterday, I finally saw our local paper advertise with an article called Disney Makes a Splash in Europe. it went on to say Mickey Mouse is going on a European vacation in the summer of 07 and so on with port of call details, info. on how to learn more and that Disney a a latecomer to the industry, etc.

Hoping to stop by a bit more now :) .

Hi All,

This is my first actual post here, but I've been reading and reading and reading tons of posts about DCL. Thanks to all of you for posting so many great ideas and tips.

We're cruising on 7/28/07 too. It will be my husband, 34 at cruise time, my two sons, 12 and 9 come cruise time, and of course myself, 31 come time. We have some really good friends that are coming along too.

It's our first cruise ever, I was going to book a cruise for New Years Eve, then suddenly I saw the clues for this and just had to wait to get ours booked. I don't know about you guys, but here on the west coast it was fun getting up so early to be on the phone. We were on hold for almost 2 hours with Disney Vacation Club. During that time we just went ahead and booked everything online, paid the $2000 to hold the reservation and cabin, then had DVC take over the reservation. We wanted to be sure to be near our friends on Deck 6.

We have been thinking about flying from LAX to London, spending a few days in the UK. Then train to Paris to of course hit Disneyland. Not that Paris wouldn't be nice to see too, but we can't see flying that far, and NOT going to Disneyland. Then we are looking at taking the train from Paris to Barcelona, then after the cruise fly straight home from Barcelona. I've been hearing mixed reviews on taking the trains, some say it's easier to fly. Others have told me that the train to Barcelona would be mostly at night, so we wouldn't see anything. I've also heard that going coach is very tight and the baggage is hard to deal with, that upgrading to 1st class is worth it. Then I heard the opposite. So.....I'm back to reading all these threads hoping to get some ideas from the folks who actually live in Europe.

Also - anyone that is from the UK have any real advise on how to get from London to Cornwall? Specifically Fowey. I've seen the map, but was advised by someone else to just rent a car. Any opinions on this would be appreciated.

Thanks

Carrie

Welcome Carrie! Lynn, we have to add them to our list!!!

I guess it's time to start making some important decisions!

Hi Carrie and Welcome

Wow, first post on the disboards? You are also a dvc member - I am always curious as to how people find this board. Sounds like you are going to have a nice, long, interesting/busy trip. :)

I won't tell you the trouble Wendy and I went through to book this cruise. We were so worried about the prices going up, not being able to convert thee of the 6 cabins to DVC and of course not being able to get the category cabins we wanted. We had two cell phones going that day and I belive one land line phone. We booked 6 cabins total that day (three dvc).

Andrew or anyone else - any ideas when we can start looking/booking air. I am almost positive we should find an airfare less than the $1,336 DCL is charging from NY - then again, with the price of fuel who knows.
