I will be at OKW 8/6 - 8/11 with my daughter and my sister. My cousin and her daughter will also be with us.

This August I am going to Royal Pacific at Universal then DCL Magic special western cruise then the Polynesian at WDW.

Many threads have a name for their cruise anyone have an idea, i see lots on the 07 Theme and we are 280707 the August 2006 one I am on are called the crusin casterways.

Not many updates i was the last one,

Bad news on Palos herd back from DCL with a firm No, not until 30 days before the trip, for booking the private area in Palos. Its funny as on the 08/19/2006 Cruise I am booked in Paloes for private dinner and brunch and we are still over 90 days out.

Their first response was positve so I am sorry their second is a no. Bit dissapointed in them as they seem to have done it on the other cruise but wont now.

You all are going on such nice Disney trips. We're going camping this year (back to Sequoia & Yosemite), and will save for next.

Right now we're getting ready for end of school year, and a big transition for my first-born, Nick, as he is graduating from high school. His prom is tomorrow, and he's excited right now. No date, but he is going with a bunch of friends in a limo.

I'll be working at our church carnival this weekend, since I'm one of the committee members - I'll be there Friday-Monday. It's exhausting, but fun all the same.

Happy Thursday, people! :sunny:

Andrew - Thanks for trying though...

MaryJo - Hope Nick has a great night at his prom. Tomorrow night is my youngest daughter, Briana's Sweet 16 party. We are really looking forward to it!
Debi

Hey all! Best wishes Andrew for a quick recovery:sunny: .........we need good suggestions for our thread "name".............we have a nicely sized group if that helps?! :confused3

My oldest graduated from college today!!...Temple University, Philadelphia, PA....we were very excited..............it's a wonderful event!

I'm up for anything, Debi, just say where and when and we will be there!!( :rolleyes1 Maybe if Jenny & Mark come, they'll reconsider and join us for the cruise!!) :woohoo:

Congrats to all for the special events that you have reported!!!!! :cloud9:

MaryJo - Congratulations to your son Nick on his high school graduation. Have fun on your prom. :goodvibes

Debi - Happy Sweet 16th Birthday to your daughter Briana. My dd keeps watching "my super sweet 16" or something on tv and she is already asking if she is having a big party. :confused3 - who knows - we have three more years to go :teeth:

Jlawall - Wow Congratulations to the college graduate too.

My son is also graduation next week-end. His prom his Wed. night. We are all busy - glad it's all good things. Enjoy your day everyone!

Andrew - hope you are feeling better.

Mary Jo- Congratulations on your son's high school graduation.

Debi- Happy Birthday to your daughter on her sixteenth birthday.

Jlawall- Congratulations on the college graduation.

My son Andrew graduates high school the end of June. His prom is in a couple of weeks.

Andrew- Hope you're feeling better. I likethe idea of a name for our thread.

Thanks for the nice comments re the op I am getting better each day. I am very annoyed with DCL, I first contacted them by E-mail after getting some help from other Dis members on the 2006 cruise I am on, they have booked this, and now are rechecking. On First response DCL were positive and said OK we will consider it but it needs to be rechecked at 30 days fine. Now its we will not consider until 30 days, so they in just two communications changed their mind, I didn't start asking the 2007 cruisers until the first positive response, I am rather disappointment in DCL's change and attitude.

I felt like cancelling both cruises.

Hey all! We just had our oldest's grad party from Temple University so I've been a little tied up!

Hope all are well.............any suggestions for a group name?

Andrew - Sorry to hear of your frustrations with DCL, I am sure everything will work out.

CONGRATS TO ALL THE GRADS!

We finally got through my daughter's Sweet 16 party, thank God that stress is gone. The party was on Friday night, and it was awesome. For those of you who don't know, it is a big thing here in the NYC area, big parties, themes, candle lighting ceremony, it's almost like a miniature wedding. Anna S - Last weekend, I got to watch that My Super Sweet 16, (which I refer to as My Stupid Sweet 16). What is wrong with these people??? Spending 200 and $300,000 on Sweet 16 parties, what are they going to do when the girl gets married???

Anyway, cold here today in NYC, only 48 degrees this morning. When will Spring come? I hear it is supposed to be 80 by Friday, though.

Have a great day all.

Debi

Hey all! We're a little busy around here with the end of the school year stuff...........what's everyone doing for Memorial Day??

Memorial Day was originally a day (Decoration day) in recognition of the fallen military in the American Civil War by the decoration, with flowers, of the graves. Since then it has become a rememberance day to honor all fallen military personnel.

Socially, Memorial Day has represented the beginning of the summer social season. It is now a holiday that is celebrated as a Monday holiday of the last Monday in May, always allowing for a three day weekend holiday. With the beginning of good outdoor weather many people use this time for travel, vacations, social festivals, parades, and events.

I, for one, have a long standing tradition of sitting at my parents beach house, on the deck overlooking the beach, with a TV, watching the Indianapolis 500. Then I start up the grill and feed any of the neighbors that come over for food and socializing. It becomes a fun informal picnic for 20-30.

Happy Day here in my basement.

I interiewed for a techie contract job last night.

It was the wildest interview I ever went on. A wonderful pair of real techie geeks in dirty t-shirts and jeans were doing the interviews. I am guessing that they were busy installing cables in ceilings and PCs in racks and ran out to do the interviews. Then they went right back to crawling on their knees in a wiring closet. They ran 7 interviews back to back averaging 5-7 minutes each!

After emerging from their room they talked to my headhunter who claimed that they were "absolutely giddy" over me. I like hearing that phrase to start a chat with your headhunter - it makes the negotiations go my way. :Pinkbounc

I'm just sitting here playing on the boards while I field the back and forth phone calls about the negotiations.

So, I've traded the leisurely $$$/few hours life for a lower$/steady hours gig so I can be sure to not to hit a dry spell and run up a debt over this trip with all ya'all.

On the other hand, the job is with a company that is about to play with the latest and greatest computer stuff in such a scale that small countries might be bought.

OK maybe not bought, but influenced? ;) hehehe

It's cool to play with toys you could never afford yourself, that makes up for a lot.

I'm so happy I want to go to DL but now I have a job that I have to show up for instead. Eeeek!

Thx AJ for your detailed Memorial Day answer! GL with your plans! :wizard:

We honor the military on MD :goodvibes and I personally relish the unofficial beginning of summer. :sunny:

Now, who has a brainstorm for our group name??? :confused3
