I just logged on and was able to print off the online signature forms for our group. Perhaps, the site is up and running again!

• Print out the online forms
• continue cleaning my home
• start to think about packing?
• print out Mary Jo's packing list
• Look for things around the house that I can pack from the list that are very small and lightweight
• reread my excursions and decide not to change them again
  

On an unrelated list........

• workout
• get ready for our 4th of July picnic

Ok, so far, I've printed MJ's packing list (thx!); and printed my online signature form (I also printed the stateroom order form in case I do order that champagne!)..........so now it's time to start packing!!!

I ususally eat at Topsiders, but since they are moving people directly up to 9 for the announcement, Parrot Cay is more likely to be empty. I've never eaten there after boarding - is it a buffet also?




Actually, if it's a typical scenario it went more like this:
- Disney hired an outside firm to build the site....
- The firm went way over budget
- Either the original developers have left or Disney fired them and hired a different firm or hired in-house people.
- The new people looked at the original software and realized it's poorly designed and built garbage.
- The current team is somehow keeping it limping along at very high cost until someone figures out what they want to do about the situation, or can come up with a budget to fix it - or - the current management is so embarassed about the situation they won't admit to upper management that they need $100's of thousands more to rebuild the thing from scratch.

Ok, I'm just speculating here. But that's how most web application projects work. I know, because I'm usually one of the new people who comes in to clean up the mess

Are you sure you're in CA??? My ex husband is an electrical/software engineer and you sound JUST like him. He's also usually brought in to fix the mess.

We are back from our weekend in Atlantic city to see Jimmy Buffet. It was a fantastic concert. He played a lot of old stuff and some new songs from his latest album. He even played Bruce Springsteen's Glory Days because he was at the Jersey shore. He did a great job with the song.There's also a pre party- the Maragaritaville snack shack gives out free shrimp, virgin margaritas., and has free raffles tickkets for hats, shirts, and coolers. You definitely knew who was attending the concert as you walked the boardwalk- the parrottheads were out in full
force! To top it off, our best friends called us about an hour before the concert to say Happy Anniversay - we ddin't know they were standing about 50 yards from us because they were going to the concert,too, but they didn't want to tell us becuase they didn't want to intrude on our anniversary. We got together after the concert. It was a great weekend.

About the on-line forms- do we have to use them or can we just sign in the booklets that come in the mail?

Not sure if they are doing the sign in pages in the booklet in the mail this time. That's a good question to ask on the Cruise Report boards. Last time they didn't have online check in so they had to . It was easy to register on line and it is one less thing to worry about having to bring with us. All you do is follow the screens and print off the last signature page. That's all you bring.

I was just checking to see what ships will be with us in each port. It seems that we'll be mostly by ourselves except for 2 other ships in Naples and one other in Rome. We are the only ship docking at Olbia & La Spezia! I know it's been posted already but can't remember by whom so her it is again:

I have been popping in and out on this board, lurking more than anything, but I had to share this with you all. Here we are, about 3 weeks out from the cruise and on my way into work today I was involved in a minor car crash. No injuries, thank God, but the other driver jumped out of his car and stormed back to my car. I jumped out and noticed that he was a dwarf. He looked up at me ( I am 6' 4"), and angrily said "I'm not happy!" To which I replied . . . . . . .

"Then which one are you, Grumpy?"

[Note: this is a joke -- it did not actually happen, but when I heard it, I had to share it. Back to your regular programming.

Sallie, if you look on the cruise threads page, you will see our West Coast 2005 trip thread....it starts with "Hey"......we talk to each other several times a week and we've met with each other in NYC, WDW, King of Prussia mall......we're meeting in July in NYC..........Lynn is "one of us" too! Of course the original group was quite a bit larger than who is still communicating now.
