Jeanne--I hope your sister remains safe from these terrible fires. It is just so terrible to see this on television and I can only imagine what it must be like to be close by. Our hearts go out to all those who have lost their homes. It is such a tragic situation. The firefighters must be exhausted.

MaryJo--Love your pictures! The first one brings back such fond memories as we stayed at Paradise Pier and that was our view!

Andrew--Have, you heard from Sallie? I am beginning to worry about her!

JoAnn--Do I have a surprise for you???:cool1: Two DVD's are going in the mail tomorrow---one + and one -. One of them is bound to play in your machine. I just discoverd when making the recording that Laura and her husband are also in the pictures. Also the young girl and her mother---I can't remember their names. She is engaged and getting married at WDW this summer. I hope you enjoy this as much as I enjoyed making it for you!:yay:
You made my month!!!You're the best, it came in the mail today.........I'll be watching it in a few minutes (I'm having a very stressful week around here)..........THANK YOU SO MUCH........YOU ARE SO SPECIAL......................

I love coming to this thread and seeing everyone drop in and update everyone on their lives. It would be nice if some of our other Med friends could check in, too.

I often wonder what you all are up to.
Agreed!!!!!!!!!!!!:goodvibes

Great, Thanks!!

I'll keep checking Laura!
Bozeman is supposed to be getting a Starbucks. It will cause all kinds of controvery. Bozeman is a "be a yocal, shop local" kind of a place!!

Ooh, more rumors . . .popcorn::
If you get a SB, you'll have to take a picture of you & Tom outside of it drinking coffee!!:coffee:

MJ I just love that Meeko shot, we don't get these across the pond I would love to see a racoon out in the wild.
Ask Joann about the squirrels sometime!!
Please come on the EBRC
I'm still hoping we'll be on it but keith's having a problem getting time off in August. his new boss has decided that it isn't fair that he gets 3 weeks in prime holiday time and that others then have to work round him, our answer is that company policy states that holiday can be booked from the 1st Sept and it's 1st come 1st served, we think he has been caught out because he hasn't made any family holiday decisions and he's realising that the school holiday weeks are going fast. Keep your fingers crossed for us!
If things don't work out, you'll have to come "across the pond" and visit us at the beach when Keith can get off!!" DISmeet at the beach, 2008...... Who's in???:dance3:

Hi Everyone,

Things have been going pretty good here. My mom's doing ok. She's visiting my sister in Lexington, VA. They own a 17 acre horse farm. My mom's been driving the tractor, feeding horses, attending 4-H meetings and even went to a rodeo! She's having a blast even though she did not want to go.

We're leaving for WDW next Wed. My mom will be back and then fly to Fla. with us. My sister is coming, too and my son and his wife will come over from St. Augustine. I'm really looking forward to it.

We will be interested in cruising with everyone in July 2009 as June 2009 will be our 25th anniversary. I'm anxious to hear the itinerary.

Our hearts go out to the people affected by the California wildfires.:grouphug:
Glad to hear that your mom is doing well........yes.......late July 2009!

Hi everyone. I'm okay. Thanks for asking.

The skies over Los Angeles are brown, though. The fires are so devastating, though. I heard from one over 360,000 homes evacuated, and heard from another over 500,000 homes evacuated in the San Diego area (2 hours south of us). Malibu is not that far from me -- If I drove there and there was no traffic, it would probably take me 45 minutes or so.. Well, there is a fire there. There is a fire near Six Flags Magic Mountain. There are a couple of fires in east Orange County - not too far from Disneyland, but DL is not in danger. Four fires in the San Bernardino Mountains - 2 hours east of me, fires between LA & San Diego -- huge area evacuated, fires east and south of San Diego.

So, the skies are just brown.

Dan lives closer to San Francisco, so I believe he's okay.

I'm not sure where Bridesgirl lives. I'd have to check and make sure.
So crazy.....you're all in our prayers........

Hi everyone,
my sister, who was on our cruise, is in the thick of the wildfires. She lives in the Castaic area. She called me Monday morning at 6am and said fire was everywhere. Evacuation had begun for the community just north of her. Interstate 5 is the only road in and out and was pretty congested with people getting out. Red flag warning through Tuesday. I promptly told her she better be packed and ready to go, in fact just go. But she hung in there and the fire circled around her and finally ended up passing her by and headed for Ventura county. Winds have calmed down in her area at least and with it so have the fires. That fire was called the "Ranch" fire. Today, I see that there is now a "Magic" fire which I'm assuming was named due to proximity to Magic Mountain fun park. So I need to call her again and get an update. Magic Mountain is just down the road from her.

Yesterday it was reported that this is the largest evacuation in California history at over 1 million. Half a million is in San Diego alone. Thursday should bring cooler weather and hopefully the winds will disappear as well.
Well thank goodness she is safe!!!!!!!

Hi all,

So glad all our CA "family is OK" so far. It is so heartbraking to see the devistation on the TV.

Watching the 2009 board for news. I'm sure Andrew will post here as soon as there is news.

So what's everyone going to be for Halloween this year??? :confused3 :goodvibes

We never get any kids for Halloween. I always get left with a huge bowl of candy and at least a couple of carved pumpkins waiting for some kid to kick around. After 15 years, you would think that I would learn by now. No plans to buy candy this year. Just watch, we will get a boat load of kids this year.

My kids have been wanting new pirate costumes for pirate night on the cruises, so I'm saving money by getting them for this Halloween and then they can be reused for a while on the cruises . . . the funny thing is that I got a terrific pirate costume for myself, black pants and boots with a black captain's jacket over it. I didn't really think it was THAT lowcut and it only showed a TINY bit of my stomach, but my two younger girls have asked if I can wear a black t-shirt underneath the jacket to cover all the offending areas . . . too bad, maybe if I get invited to an adult party with no kids I can have fun with it but I don't want to embarrass the kids (it's easy enough to do that anyway!).

HI Everyone

So sorry for the long silence, I have been so busy the past two months I didn’t even realize how fast time was wizzing by! I am so tired when I get home from work; I make dinner, clean up and head for the couch! I can’t even bear to go near the computer. I have checked in a few times to make sure everyone is OK, especially with the sickness, fires, etc. I was so happy to hear that Anna's husband is doing better and that Wendy's family is healing. Babies are the best medicine for those dark times in our lives- congratulations Wendy!

Everything on my end is fine. Jimmy and Carley are both working hard at both school and at work. They are great. I love my class this year- they are very sweet and so are the parents.

I thought I would try writing from school before I left, and maybe I will stay in touch better this way- I miss everyone so much!

Do any East Coasters want to meet in NYC for dinner one day? I would love that. Or I would love to have everyone over if you’re willing to drive or fly ou t o Long Island. Im only 25 -30 min. from (NYC w/o traffic)
Maybe if everyone starts posting possible dates out there, we can fine a day to meet or to come to my house.

Oh well, got to get home and cook- I will try to check in more regularly from now on!

Love Me:cutie:

Hi Sallie! I'd love to meet you -- and anyone else who wants to come -- in NYC . . . driving out to LI is a possibility although we are pretty busy while school is on . . .
