Hi everyone,

Just got home from the hospital. My dh came home from work today and was experiencing severe chest pains. Five hours later - he is okay. He did have a heart attack. Apparently he has had a few silent ones before and his heart/muscle is damaged. They put a stent in on the main artery which was completely clogged and the other two arteries that are not as clogged will try medication. If medication does not work, two more stents. He is very lucky to be alive and thank God it did not happen a few weeks ago on the cruise. He "might" be home Friday. This is a person who never go to a doctor. We will learn now from this wake up call.

I wish your DH all the best for good health.

Anna, hope your husband recovers quickly -- and you are right, thank goodness it didn't happen on the cruise. Let us know when he comes home.

Thx Julie, glad you all made it home safe! We enjoyed the wine tasting with you, I'm still trying to find Cinque Terre wine in the states!! I also hope we all will sail again someday (Med in 2009:banana: !!):dance3:

Hi JoAnn, I really enjoyed the wine tastings with you, too . . . that Italian wine was really nice . . . let's hope for another cruise together in 2009!

Anna,

Thank God he is OK. I lost my dad at 49 and one of my brothers at 36, both with a massive heart attack. God was good and gave him a second chance. You are all in our prayers.:grouphug: :grouphug:

Anna - so scary for you and here's some :grouphug: and  from you. I will keep a prayer out for both of you for a rapid recovery for him and a less stressful time for you. Hope all goes well, keep cool and keep us informed. Gotta go for now - almost time to pick up April!

Thank goodness you were able to get him to the hospital right away. My husband used to work for a medical device company that made stents - it's amazing the technology that we have!

What is it with these men who don't think they ever need to go to a doctor!

Agreed!!........I can't wait to share the Faustino wine with Tara when she comes in for a visit (for some reason, she really liked the Spanish reds!)

Yes, 2009 is definitely in my plan book! So what was it like to sail for 6 days straight???:goodvibes

You know what's really weird about Anna's report? My colleague at work's husband who's only about 50 had the same symptoms this week and just got home from the hospital! It makes you wonder what triggered it? Sorry to hear that Maryann, that's so sad.........

Interestingly enough, what those 6 sea days in a row reminded me most of was a week at the beach -- few plans, get up when you like, relax at the pool, interspersed with bouts of activity and then reading while looking at the ocean . . . of course there were differences but the feel of those days was very much like the feeling of a week at the beach. It was wonderful. After the crazy pace of the 11 night Med cruise and then a pretty brisk pace in Paris, the 14 night repo was very relaxing, few ports and lots of time to kick back and reflect on the entire experience this summer.

If only the group from the July 28 sailing had been on the repo as well!

Hey guys, I was going through some of my pics and saw this one of the moon on the night we sailed from Barcelona... Notice anything familiar?

it been so hectic, and tiring this week back at school.

I hate the first few weeks back, when you cant find things and children dont know the routines yet.

The one thing that has helped - I clipped my whistle to my Romancing the mouse lanyard and wore it everyday. All the children noticed it and it also helped when I had to prise a Screamer of her mam . She noticed the Mickey ears and that was enough of a distraction for her mam to make an exit. I then spent 10 mins or so calming her down by telling her all abouy my holiday on the boat with Mickeymouse.:goodvibes Thanks again jeanne for doing this. xx

Wow - Maryann - sorry to hear that. You know when I hit my 30's, I started to read the obituaries and everyday I say, "they are dying younger and younger" - but I guess that has always been the case. I have just become aware of it since reading them.

Thanks everyone for your well wishes. He is doing great and still hoping he might come home tomorrow (if he ever comes out of ccu).

He better change his diet if he wants to live - he does not have much choice now. Not much excercise (will start walking) but works like a dog 24/7 if he has to.

We can't wait to book a wdw trip or another cruise :) .

So glad you were able to enjoy the ship, Julie. That is one thing that I felt we didn't have a chance to do. Well, we'll just have to cruise again!

THAT would have been great!

That is so sweet Helen. I need to carry my school keys with me during my cafeteria lunch period duty and instead of wearing the school lanyard or my countless DCL or DVC ones, guess which one I picked??? Yep, our Romancing the Mouse one. It is so comfortable to wear, but the real reason is it reminds me of our trip and my Dis friends every day.

I noticed this picture when browsing through the thousands we took on vacation -- this is on the tender boat going into La Spezia, looking back at the Magic -- Andrew, see you and Susan looking back at the ship!
