Hi everyone! We are here in Barcelona, and I am on the hotel computer, since we do not have internet in the room and I cannot find a wireless connection.

It took 19 hours to get here, and other than the 3-hour delay in Philadelphia it was very smooth. Barcelona could not have been any easier, and we did not have any trouble with pickpockets or anything like that.

We are in a tiny room with 3 beds, but after a rest we'll get out and walk around. I am feeling the lack of sleep now. lol

Oh, and it's very warm and humid here right now.

Congrats on the Major Dan!

Thank you all for your good wishes. We tried cross packing as much as we could. Hopefully we, and our luggage will arrive safely and on time!

MJ, so glad you got there and everything is well. That time difference is going to be a killer. I got up about 5AM this morning so hopefully I'll be exhausted later and will sleep a little on the plane. My problem is I need a good 7 hrs a night. If I lose sleep it's like my body keeps track of it and until I make it up, I feel it. DH has no problem getting 5 hrs a night. Then he can power nap and I rarely do. That combined with being a light sleeper........

Hey, I'd rather be groggy in Barcelona than wide awake on Long Island!

Well, I'm as packed as I ever will be. If it's not in there now, it's not coming with us. DH is working a half day today so I'll drive him to the train and pick him up. Then, off we go. I'll check in until about 1:00pm or so then the next time I'll speak with you is in Barcelona!!!

Could a year and a half since we booked this cruise have gone so quickly????

QUICK hello form Barcelona, a hot day 30c, but very windy, went to thew beach am, then wanted to do the 'port' cable car' that was closed due to the wind, We went instead to the modern cable cars up Mount Monjuvic, (Olympic) and onto the castle at the top.

The views up there are great, you could see the harbor where the Magic will dock on Saturday, terminal C, doesn't look large,, had a good look today as they were all empty today.

There is a big rail yard in front with a container depot.

We're already dreaming of another Disney cruise (possibly even the Transatlantic back to Florida)! Failing that I would have loved the Panama Canal trip but I believe that's sold out already!

The travel trade press over here in the UK featured the Disney Magic at Barcelona with speculation that it may sail from Southampton, England for the summer of 2009! That would be brilliant for us with just a 4 hour drive away and a chance for others to visit London as a gateway rather than Barcelona.

That would be great!

That was just a gentle hint of encouragement. I needed to get done as I'm still working full time and I don't finish till late Thursday and my DH has just informed me that we need to leave the house at 3:15am Friday morning So if I nod off during dinner at the 4Gats or snore too loudly through the magic fountain show at least I have a good excuse as I don't have a long transatlantic flight to sleep on AND I'm expected to go to the Nou Camp when we arrive in Barcelona

When we did bus touristic we stopped at the football ground and after just starting off again the driver pulled over again. All the players were out having a training session and he wanted to see his favorite players, he didn't start off again until we had four bus touritics back to back lined up!

For those who are staying in Barcelona prior to the cruise, what time are you planning to get to the port on Saturday morning ?

It will not open until 10.30am we are told and looks very small indeed, I understand that the Magic will let people on 12 noon, or for people with special needs and high Cats 1-3 11.45am.

Around noon or so . . . we plan to see La Sagrada Familia right as it opens at 9 and then catch a taxi from our hotel to the port between 11:30 and 12 . . .

We went at 9.00am went straight up the Lift to the top extra E2 each, the line was free on arrival 90 mins when we can down.
