We are watching the news and it just came on to say that the TSA has issued warnings to airports that terrorists are boarding planes with parts for bombs each carried by different people on a flight. THey have caught this going on in 4 US airports.

Also, a Delta flight from JFK to Rome has been diverted to Boston due to a bird flying into the engine.

I don't think any of us are flying through Rome. We are praying for safe flights for everyone. And that the airport security will find and foil any attempts to disrupt air travel.

My mom pitched a fit today. I don't know what to do. My brothers and I had a conference call to all discuss together. She started screaming at my brother at the top of her lungs "I HATE IT HERE" over and over and over again. My borther just left her alone. So we all decided to go against the doctors orders and have my brother take her back to her house. I may never speak to her again...she has tried so hard to ruin my vacation.

My brother went and told her he was taking her home. She said okay, maybe in a week or two.....I know she is crazy now.

Daniel is sick....I thnk he has strep throat. We are taking him now for a test and hopefully to get some meds.

Vacation is not supposed to be like this....

We dodged a bullet last week - my mom had a mild pneumonia and recurrence of a previous illness, but fortunately today we found out that she has responded very well to antibiotics and other medication and should continue to recover.

My reason for mentioning this - one of the suggestions that I received along the way was to admit her temporarily into a convalescent home - where she could get care while we are away. Fortunately, this will not be necessary and the extra support we've arranged for should be more than sufficient (she still lives independently - just needs a bit of help here and there). All those of us with elderly parents sacrafice for them - but we caregivers have a responsibility to take care of ourselves as well. I don't know if this particular idea makes sense in your case, but I mention it because it had not even occurred to me until someone else mentioned it.

Regarding strep - hopefully that isn't it, but if it is, antibiotics should do the trick, and do it fast enough so he'll still thoroughly enjoy the vacation. I did a cruise while recovering from strep, and between Motrin and a throat lozenges I did just fine.

We have a blog!

JoAnne, I did what you suggested and it was pretty self explanatory. It is DisneyCruiseReport.blogspot.com . IT is mostly for Lilly and Daniel but anyone else can read it if they like. I can't say that it will be very entertaining, we're not known for our writing abilities.

Well, I'm off to start moving Lilly into Grandma's house. THen buy more transfer paper for my Tshirts and ink for the printer. THen I will be printing our our door decoration. I had hoped to get more than one but at the rate I'm going it could be just a Post it note. Hopefully the FE gifts will also be done tonight. Tomorrow is a pedicure and body polish (So my pale white skin won't blind anyone in the bright Med. sun).

Dan - i am trying to catch up, but I am still about 100 pages behind. I too agree though - great book. Couldn't put it down.
Question though on the pdf - I can't seem to load it. I wanted to save it off so I an print it.

I think it's great that people are blogging, and look forward to being able to read them afterwards as reminders of the trip. But as someone who works with computers all the time, my goal is to minimize time on computers - thus I take great joy in the fact that for this trip I HAVE NO BLOG!!!

Completely understandable! My DD23 and I are blogging so she can keep in contact with her BF, and I can share our journey with some DISfriends who aren't joining us! Also, I finally figured out what a blog was recently! BTW, being on this thread has improved my tech skills tremendously, thx to all for helping me to stretch in this area!

We're already dreaming of another Disney cruise (possibly even the Transatlantic back to Florida)! Failing that I would have loved the Panama Canal trip but I believe that's sold out already!

The travel trade press over here in the UK featured the Disney Magic at Barcelona with speculation that it may sail from Southampton, England for the summer of 2009! That would be brilliant for us with just a 4 hour drive away and a chance for others to visit London as a gateway rather than Barcelona.

Did it say where it would be sailing to?

I'd love to do the transatlantic back to FL. If we had booked the next 10 day cruise we may have been able to work it out but it's hard to justify flying back to Barcleona.

Yesterday I was wide awake at 5 am and today couldn't sleep past 4:30. I'm not sure how this is going to effect my jet lag but I do manage to get things done that early in the morning. I've always been a morning person anyway.

To Do list for today:

make Tshirts, decals printed
finish FE gifts, printing done just put together
canel Spa reservations
Pedicure and Body polish
pack Lilly
deliver Lilly's stuff to Grandma
shop for things I thought of when I couldn't sleep at 4 am.
Clean the house,
pack

Then we will be ready to go.

Maryann,
Congratualtions on finishing the packing, with time to spare. It is hard to believe that cruise time is here. It has been a very long time in planning. Made much more enjoyable since I've found this great group of people to help pass the time and find information etc.. which will make the cruise even that much more enjoyable.

I'm praying for you and your luggage to have a safe and uneventful journey to Barcelona.
