While they may be trashy tabloids they are such NY icons. Often times their front or back page headlines are quite witty.

Ok, I'll admit it.............I MISS ANDREW! I know he hasn't left yet, WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO NEXT WEEK???

You'll just count down the days until you seen him . . . another thing that works for me is to imagine what the person would say (or post, in this instance) -- I did that when my oldest daughter was in Spain last month -- we share a certain kind of sarcastic, gallows humor and many times when she was gone I would imagine what I would say to her in a situation and what she would say back -- not as good as the real thing, of course.
