OK - think I may be answering my own question but am looking for confirmation - I was told nite #9 or Marseille, this according to my calendar is Auguust 5th - does anyone else know?

That's what I have -- Marseilles night, Aug. 5 . . .

That's what I show too!

I know! With all that banter, I thought for sure, Sallie would be involved..........I guess she's packing............oh, that's right, she's probably at the beach!:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
Can you believe her?? Imagine, thinking the tag fairy would pack for her!!
I'm expecting Tink herself to pack for me :rotfl2: :tink:

Yes, he was all protestations that he didn't care, but he was quick to post how he had gotten ahead before leaving for bed! That's when I realized how I had been used in his Machiavellian schemes . . .
Believe me, with Andrew it's never innocent and it's always fluff!!:surfweb:

hahahahaha:rotfl2:

jkjkjkjkjkjk:hug:

(I love making all these insults while he's sleeping......);)

I'm waiting, I still need those clothes..........but I HAVE TO GET OFF AND DO SOMETHING CONSTRUCTIVE........:scared1:

Yes, he'll really enjoy reading them when he gets back to the computer, but then he'll reply with those little innocent :sad2: icons . . .

Yea - a pirate! I noticed the count was close, but not in the mood to "sweat it out" so I just answered Helen's questions, and voila - a pirate:
Must have been meant to be!!

Congrats Leslie! :woohoo: And just under the end limit!

Our paperwork says 20 kg from Barcelona to Paris, which is 44 lbs.

OK - here's some info:

Just got back from TA - got our Docs - better late than never!

Now for my   :dance3:   Dance!

Also, confirmed some limit regulations -please remember this is for my flights but if you have similar maybe this will help:

LAX to LHR - British Airways, under 50 lbs check in and carry-on will be 13 lbs or less - only 1 (Ladies this means no purse and carry-on) There is a dimension limit too but I seem to have misplaced them at the moment. I was told by a previous cruiser who went prior to the bomb scare but on the same flight number that the airline employee did even check her carry-on.

Now for the portion that I was totally concerned with -

We take IBERIA from Barcelona to Paris - Iberia's check-in luggage is max 44 lbs which is 22 kgs? Someone check me.

Their Iberia's carry-on policy is as follows: 1 carry-on to include 1 repeat one of the following:

lady's bag
coat
umbrella
crutches
small camera/video
laptop
briefcase
wheelchair to be checked at gate

not to exceed the measurements of: 56 cm X 45 cm X 25 cm Not to exceed 115 cm which translates to: 22 in X 18 in X 10 in - this I got from my tape measure on my Target luggage scale.

:woohoo: So now I just have to hope that the lady I spoke to who took the same flight wasn't wrong. The Iberia flight I am packing to hit around 40 lb/18kg so that I have a lbs to spare!

Anyone with Iberia - I actually looked at the airlines website at the TA's office- verified this myself. Hope this helps someone!

Very nice Sallie :goodvibes
I was sent this one today.....

People come into your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime.
When you know which one it is, you will know what to do for that person.
When someone is in your life for a REASON,
it is usually to meet a need you have expressed
They have come to assist you through a difficulty,
to provide you with guidance and support,
to aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually.
They may seem like a godsend and they are.
They are there for the reason you need them to be.
Then, without any wrongdoing on your part or at an inconvenient time,
this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end.
Sometimes they die. Sometimes they walk away.
Sometimes they act up and force you to take a stand.
What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled, their work is done.
The prayer you sent up has been answered and now it is time to move on.

Some people come into your life for a SEASON, because your turn has come to share, grow or learn.
They bring you an experience of peace or make you laugh.
They may teach you something you have never done.
They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy.
Believe it, it is real. But only for a season.

LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons,
things you must build upon in order to have a solid emotional foundation.
Your job is to accept the lesson,
love the person and put what you have learned to use in all other relationships and areas of your life.
It is said that love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant.

Thank you for being my friends,
whether you were a reason, a season or a lifetime.

This one brought a slight :sad1: to my eye but in a good sort of way - and want to hear something weird? Upon reading the portion about w/o any reason some people leave? It was like the perpetual door clanging. The lightbulb went on in my head. Maybe now - I can close and forego some hard feelings and bewilderment I may have been holding onto too.

Thank you Justine - I really like both of these!

I was but got carried away with Harry.

Maryann

Half our group has a split ticket, so will be subject to Iberia's restrictive policies (44 pounds) going to Barcelona. For the rest of us, our big concern is from Barcelona to London. One piece, but at least it's 51 pounds. So yes, it's coming home that's the big concern.

They have started giving me a hard time at work that my vacation might as well have already started for as much concentration as I am giving to work right now :rolleyes1

Amen, Amen, Amen.

Snape is the new Defense Against Dark Arts teacher. The new teacher at Hogwarts, Horace Slughorn, teaches Potions (Snape's old subject).

The Half Blood Prince is a name found in a used Advanced potions book Harry uses that gives helpful potions tips and spells, one of which is extremely dangerous. The Half-Blood Prince turns out to be Severus Snape. Half-Blood refers to the fact that his father was a muggle (Tobias Snape) but the Prince part refers to his mother's maiden name (Eileen Prince).

Harry rightly suspects Draco Malfoy of being a Death Eater. Draco manages to sneak Death Eaters into Hogwarts using a pair of vanishing cabinets. Draco was supposed to kill Dumbledore, but finds himself unable to.

Dumbledore and Harry explore Voldemort's past, learning about Horcruxes, which are divisions of Voldemort's soul, making him immortal until they are all destroyed. There are Seven pieces of his soul (two already destroyed) including the one in Voldemort. Harry and Dumbledore try to get one, but the aftermath leaves Dumbledore weak and unable to fight off the Death Eaters.

It turns out the Death Eater that overheard the prophecy and told it to Voldemort (leading to Harry's parents' deaths) was Severus Snape. Snape turns up after Draco cannot kill Dumbledore and kills Dumbledore. Draco, Snape, and the Death Eaters escape afterwards. Hogwarts is probably going to be closed but Harry announces he won't be returning anyway; he will attempt to finish the work he a Dumbledore started, destroying Horcruxes so Voldemort can be destroyed.

SPOILERS IF YOU HAVEN'T READ 6!!!

Been a while since I read it so I might be a little off... but Snape made a deal with Malfoy's mom to protect Malfoy. There was a lot of stuff about casting spells without voicing them. Bad guys used a magic dresser in the closet to invade Hogwarts since Malfoy was told he needed to kill Dumbledoor for admittance into the Deatheaters.

Snape stepped forward in front of Malfoy and delivered the killing shot at Dumbledoor. Speculation is that either Snape really did turn bad or that he was using the spell without speaking and cast a different spell than he actually said in order to infiltrate the Deatheaters again.

I know I missed a LOT of information - but I think that is the important stuff.

eta: Bellalinus beat me to it and did a better job than me :)

Great descriptions. Another perspective:

Harry, spends the summer lying depressed in his room (Probably a good idea in his case, since the most powerful wizard next to Dumbledore is out to kill him). Spends the year with half the wizarding world looking at him as the second coming, while his best friends refuse to believe his suspicions of Malfoy (which turn out to be correct - you'd think they'd have learned by now). He spends the year experimenting with potions and spells from a mysterious book written on by a death-eater (you'd think he'd have learned by now).

Hermione continues to be brilliant, Ron the perfect sidekick - they spend most of the book hating each other, so they are obviously destined for true love, if not some serious snogging.

Malfoy continues to be a blustering coward, no big surprise. But surprise, he figures out a way to sneak his death-eater buddies into Hogwarts, where they succeed in doing little but giving Bill a faulty nose job (in the future he'll know to avoid graduates of the Anne Rice school of cosmetic surgery).

Dumbledore offers private lessons to Harry that consist of studying memories and learning about horcruxes. I would think some advanced training on destroying evil wizards might be in order, but go figure.

Bill and George take over Haliburton, gladly selling advanced weaponry to anyone with ready cash. But it's ok, cause they are so cool.

Tooks and Remus find true love. So does Harry and Ginny, except he gets to be self-sacrificing, swearing to leave her for her own good and setting her up for a tragic death in book 7 (speculation on my part).

Snape takes out Dumbledore at his request when Malfoy wimps out, shortly after Dumbledore discovers that the horcrux he found had already been snagged by the mysterious R.A.B., making it a bad day for Dumbledore all around. Meanwhile Snape keeps his street cred with the "He who will not be named except by contrarian teens" crowd, setting him up for a martyr's death in book 7 (also speculation on my part).

Congrats Leslie! :woohoo: And just under the end limit!

From Iberia's site (note, doesn't say one and only one):

Economy Class
The cabin or hand luggage allowed onboard consists of 1 piece, the maximum permitted measurements of which ( 56cm X 45cm X 25cm ) do not exceed 115 cm in total (45") and which has a total weight of under 10 kg (22 lb).
On top of the applicable allowance (i.e. checked-in hold luggage), all passengers may carry the following items in the cabin, under their own responsibility and at no extra cost:
cuadrado_gris.gif
A lady's ladies' handbag or a small briefcase
cuadrado_gris.gif
A coat, cape or travel blanket
cuadrado_gris.gif
An umbrella or a walking stick
cuadrado_gris.gif
A pair of crutches
cuadrado_gris.gif
A small camera / video camera or a pair of binoculars
cuadrado_gris.gif
A portable cot or a fully folding pushchair, which, duly labelled, would normally be carried in the luggage hold without charge
cuadrado_gris.gif
A laptop computer
Hand luggage should be placed in the overhead lockers or under the passenger's seat. It is therefore strictly necessary that it does not exceed the measurements indicated above.

I will never forget your story . . . I really do hope you have an incredibly smooth and enjoyable journey.:wizard:
I always get Starbucks, so the story was particularly alarming..........it could happen to any of us!:scared:

So,in other words, one would be SOL if you were a female (lady's bag) using crutches on a rainy day (umberlla) flying on Iberia. (Just kidding)
