Mom ran a fever (101 degrees) all Sunday night and Monday morning. She started feeling better on Monday afternoon. I am sure all the Meds that they gave her at the hospital started kicking in.

She keeps saying she only wants me to take care of her and not my brothers. She says she loves my brothers, but there is nothing like a daughter. I hope I have learned a lesson for when I am older.

My 2nd brother came up from SC to care for her so I can work this week and try and pack something. I came back to VA.

So she has both of my brothers in DE with her.

Yesterday afternoon, she said Andy (brother # 2) had taken great care of her and she was happy. Okay....HOLD THAT THOUGHT for 4 weeks....that is all I need. I explained very carefully to her that I will not go on this trip if she does not "get with the program" (I said it much nicer). She started to cry and said she would do her best. She says she does not want to be a burden...well my brothers and I have laid out a plan.....all she has to do is follow it. I guess that is hard giving up your independence.

Time will tell.

It was my daughter, Tara, although I know Lynn would take her and she in fact will, if and when, Tara studies in London next year!!!

OMG! This is great. I know I started a list of when people will be arriving in Barcelona, but its long gone somewhere on this thread. I wish this forum had a better search function.

Helen, if this is the leaving date, can I assume that one day later is when people will be arriving in Barcelona?
I'm leaving July 22nd and arrive into Barcelona on the 26th.

No our flights are short for once no overnighter here!

Snape is the new Defense Against Dark Arts teacher. The new teacher at Hogwarts, Horace Slughorn, teaches Potions (Snape's old subject).

The Half Blood Prince is a name found in a used Advanced potions book Harry uses that gives helpful potions tips and spells, one of which is extremely dangerous. The Half-Blood Prince turns out to be Severus Snape. Half-Blood refers to the fact that his father was a muggle (Tobias Snape) but the Prince part refers to his mother's maiden name (Eileen Prince).

Harry rightly suspects Draco Malfoy of being a Death Eater. Draco manages to sneak Death Eaters into Hogwarts using a pair of vanishing cabinets. Draco was supposed to kill Dumbledore, but finds himself unable to.

Dumbledore and Harry explore Voldemort's past, learning about Horcruxes, which are divisions of Voldemort's soul, making him immortal until they are all destroyed. There are Seven pieces of his soul (two already destroyed) including the one in Voldemort. Harry and Dumbledore try to get one, but the aftermath leaves Dumbledore weak and unable to fight off the Death Eaters.

It turns out the Death Eater that overheard the prophecy and told it to Voldemort (leading to Harry's parents' deaths) was Severus Snape. Snape turns up after Draco cannot kill Dumbledore and kills Dumbledore. Draco, Snape, and the Death Eaters escape afterwards. Hogwarts is probably going to be closed but Harry announces he won't be returning anyway; he will attempt to finish the work he a Dumbledore started, destroying Horcruxes so Voldemort can be destroyed.

Been a while since I read it so I might be a little off... but Snape made a deal with Malfoy's mom to protect Malfoy. There was a lot of stuff about casting spells without voicing them. Bad guys used a magic dresser in the closet to invade Hogwarts since Malfoy was told he needed to kill Dumbledoor for admittance into the Deatheaters.

Snape stepped forward in front of Malfoy and delivered the killing shot at Dumbledoor. Speculation is that either Snape really did turn bad or that he was using the spell without speaking and cast a different spell than he actually said in order to infiltrate the Deatheaters again.

I know I missed a LOT of information - but I think that is the important stuff.

Ok, I converted from kg to lb and it comes out to 70.55 lb. That makes sense. I think weight limit for any checked bag is just over 50 lb. So, we're good.

Why can't we just have one system of measurement?

They tried teaching it to us when I was in school - seems they get on a roll, teach it for awhile, then drop it etc.

Actually it's funny metric came up today. DH&I were working on a pocket Euro conversion chart (I made one on excel just to give us an idea (I mean heart attack) to see what we are really spending). Anyway, on the back I put the temp conversion from F to C and some metric conversions, just for reference. (The in me really likes to do excel spreadsheets and dabble in reference charts just for fun)
