This will be Princess Jasmine's first big venture away from home. She stayed with our friend a few nights when dh had surgery, but she was still a puppy. Now she is a big one year old!!:cool1: I know she will get spoiled--maybe I am more worried than she!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

No one has to tell me that dogs are not smart, but is anyone else having a problem with their pet having withdrawal symptoms already? Princess Jasmine knows something is up! She will not let us out of her sight. If dh goes downstairs and sits down at his desk, she climbs up his leg like a cat to sit in his lap. If I come downstairs to iron clothes, she follows me upstairs, and bites at me all the way up the stairs.:scared1: She is like an animal possessed! I don't know what I will do with her between now and Wednesday when she goes to my friend's house!:confused3 Oh, my I hope she is still my friend when we return!:sad2:

Mine is only 1 1/2 yrs. old - she does this all the time, I move, she moves, I get up, she gets up. She never rests or gets any sleep because she has to follow me everywhere. I was just at my mom/sister's and went over my instructions again. It's my dad I worry about who does not/cannot follow instructions. My sister broke her foot and it will be put in a cast Monday. So limited mobility - My mom will have to pitch in a bit more. I just hope she will be there when I get back (you can't open a door, she runs right out).

Hi Everyone - Looks like I have a lot of reading to do this weekend - not including Harry Potter.

My status window reads "You last visited: 07-11-2007 at 9:16 PM.

I'm nearly ready to go - just have to put together the gift bags this weekend. Hope to see you guys all soon.

Carrie--you could be reading for days to catch up from 7-11! I am looking forward to seeing you and your family soon! How nice those words sound..did you think we would ever be saying them??:surfweb: :dance3:

Hello all,

This is my first post on the infamous DIS-Boards.

Our cruise is fast approaching and the anticipation level rising by the moment…

Have we remembered to pack everything, will the flight be delayed, will the weather be good, etc. etc. etc…

My DW is afraid of flying and we are about to cross an ocean in the air. While I don’t have any particular concerns for the air travel I do respect that this is a MONUMENTAL undertaking for her. As an unabashed Disney-addict the only thing that could have compelled her to travel to the ends of the earth and fly over an ocean is a chance to visit with a mouse in red pants!

No dear I’m still not getting red-pants with GOLD buttons or, doing anything in those puffy white gloves!!!

You know time is running out and all the planning and preparation will soon be over. Trust me it had better be OVER SOON!

I know there’s been a lot of discussion and sharing of information here THANK YOU all. I’m looking forward to meeting, greeting and sharing this adventure with all of you.

I have the TEE-Shirt and suppose I must wear it.

Regards,

Russ

:welcome: to the DIS, and more importantly, to OUR CRUISE!!!! Good going on the t-shirt! :thumbsup2

Thx, today is her birthday!! She lives in Florida right now, so we've only seen her a few times this summer:guilty: She's very excited to be joining us next week!!!:hippie:

:bday: Tara!

As you've said before, it goes against your nature to correspond like this with people you don't know. DH& I were just talking about this two nights ago. He is puzzled by my interaction on the boards because it is also very unlike me. I tried to explain to him that it's amazing how, through casual conversation, you can get to know personalities, likes/dislikes, personal interaction, etc. We are all equal on this board; we have nothing to materially gain by making these friendships. We probably became "friends" with people that we normally would just pass by for various reasons. It really brings you back down to earth and reinforces my general belief: most people are really nice if you get the chance to really listen to them! I can't say that I would ever do this again, but every once in awhile, the sun, moon, and stars align and a group of people get together and form a bond that is special. I think that is what we have here. :hippie:

Now that I have gotten all soupy, let me continue by wishing safe trips to all leaving soon. Can't wait to meet you all next week!

Maryann

You said it so eloquently. :) I've been trying to explain our group to my friends & coworkers

Hi....I am not on your cruise but will be on the TransAtlantic back. I am travelling with Laura....Eeyorlvr10....on the return trip.

Anyway...I was wondering if any of you have ordered Euros to take with you? How did you figure out how much you needed? I need to go to the bank in about an hour so I can go ahead and get them ordered but have no clue as to how much I need.:confused3 I am travelling alone, am only signed up for 2 DCL excursions and will hopefully be using my credt/debit card for most major purchases.....such as souveniers.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks!
Pam

Hi Pam, Since we're going on a few private tours, I got enough euros to pay them plus tips. You should probably start off with a couple hundred to pay for any taxis and tips you may need to right away.

Me, too!!!!!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2:
I do, too! (think of Bon Jovi when I see Helen post):rotfl2::rotfl2:

Sorry about this in advance, hands over your ears!

YIPPEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • School ended
  • Work ended
  • Booked in online for flight
  • Have boarding cards
GO GO GO!

GO ANDREW GO ANDREW GO ANDREW!!

Most everywhere looks bad at the moment. Liverpool Street station concourse was closed at lunchtime, most of Acton High Street was closed, the dealing room in my bank was closed (it's in the basement for security reasons) and all flooded due to the rain !!!!
well, that's a yikes!

Sorry guys have to do this,

the song of the day!

Barcelona Lyrics
Artist(Band):Queen

Barcelona Barcelona
Barcelona Barcelona
Viva

I had this perfect dream
-Un sueño me envolvió
This dream was me and you
-Tal vez estás aquí
I want all the world to see
-Un instinto me guiaba
A miracle sensation
My guide and inspiration
Now my dream is slowly coming true

The wind is a gentle breeze
-Él me hablo de ti
The bells are ringing out
-El canto vuela
They're calling us together
Guiding us forever
Wish my dream would never go away

Barcelona - It was the first time that we met
Barcelona - How can I forget
The moment that you stepped into the room you took my breath away
Barcelona - La música vibró
Barcelona - Y ella nos unió
And if God willing we will meet again someday

Let the songs begin
-Déjalo nacer
Let the music play
-Ahhhhhhhh...
Make the voices sing
-Nace un gran amor
Start the celebration
-Ven a mí
And cry
-Grita
Come alive
-Vive
And shake the foundations from the skies
Ah,Ah,Shaking all our lives

Barcelona - Such a beautiful horizon
Barcelona - Like a jewel in the sun
Por ti seré gaviota de tu bella mar
Barcelona - Suenan las campanas
Barcelona - Abre tus puertas al mundo
If God is willing
-If God is willing
If God is willing
Friends until the end
Viva -

Barcelona

Sounds like a song I should download & put on my Ipod.

No one has to tell me that dogs are not smart, but is anyone else having a problem with their pet having withdrawal symptoms already?

I Am! I'm already missing my dog!!!
What's more I'm sending her to a bootcamp for training - so she will be a different dog when she gets back. However, I have full confidence in the facility and I know they are very good with dogs. But I'm still worried and guilt ridden. Sigh.

Oh, my I hope she is still my friend when we return!:sad2:

Of course she will be!!! One thing I love about dogs is that they live in the moment and they love you unconditionally. I think it's harder on us than it is on them. Remember (and I have a hard time with this too) she is only a dog. Smart - yes. Loving - yes. Feeling - yes. But still a dog.

OK, so in a fit of sadism I went ahead and bought the Starbucks cup to bring on the cruise - weight permitting.... Was joking with the folks at Starbucks tonight when buying it - one of them went on cruises and thought it was very funny.

So, I thought I would ask.
Does anyone else have to do some 'work' while on the cruise?

I'm going to have to check email etc and hopefully minimal work during the trip and I figured optimal times are around midnight (morning US time) and maybe first thing in the morning. I have to do this because I am self-employed and have to keep a pulse on my livelihood and look out for clients/colleagues if they get stuck.

In case anyone else has to do this as well -- since I can't use the cabin (others sleeping) thought we could meet up and keep each other company on the laptops and drinking coffee (alas! not Starbucks!).

Anyone know which lounge/public area would be good for this kind of work? Doesn't have to be quiet but should not be too crazy.

Roan

Have a great trip! We will see you soon.
YES SEE YOU SOON

OK - Forgot this - :bday: :cake: to TARA! and my DD - Megan - she is offically 20 today - well at 3:50 she was.

Right now she is at Medieval Times and yet somehow I am getting ready to run out and stand in line for HP! :headache: Don't know how she got me to do this - crowds and I just do not get along!

Anyway, while I'm at it - how spacey am I - I totally forgot that in 1 hr - DH and I will have been married for 17 years together for 20. Talk about your goober head! :headache: :headache:

Add that that on Monday is someone's b-day! :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 Gee - wonder who's that is.

I wasn't a good planner when it came to our wedding - this is my Christmas in July for me. Anyway, I STILL haven't packed - in fact - just started some last minute laundry - and if it weren't for gift bags - DD's present wouldn't have been wrapped at all! I am now in full on panic mode.

Somebody - quick send me :tink: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Good Morning

The Cruise Starts Next Saturday

Safe travels Andrew! Bring us back some nice pictures and stories, eh?

Microsoft does have a "save to PDF" add-on for Publisher 2007, but not 2003. So unless you have the full version of acrobat, you probably can't publish to PDF. I should be able to get the final converted tommorow afternoon with no problem.

There's a special kind of paper called "Presentation Paper" for ink-jet printers. It's a bit heavier than most paper and is coated on both sides so it will work well for double sided printing. Here's an example.

Thanks Dan. I will get you the final Cruise Guide in a bit. I was hoping Sandra was going to send me the Fish Extender schedule but I haven't seen it yet. maybe, I'll wait until tommorrow morning and if I don't have it by then, oh well. Did she by chance, post it on the thread? I haven't been able to read anything.

I haven't seen it on the thread Jeanne, but my husband is standing next to me admiring your work on the booklet, Thank you so much and dan for the PDF.
I have to go to school today to do clean up .
In yesterdays rain the school really suffered 2 flooded clssrooms and a flooded corridor.
I will be soooo glad when next saturday looms

Do they have a fenced in yard?

They do. We will have to check the yard thoroughly for gaps (there could be a spot here and there where she might be able to get out). She is a tiny one, about 9 lbs. If they don't hold her when opening a door or gate, she will be the first one out and even though she will come back after a minute or so, the first thing she will do is run (they are on a very busy street). I will just have to pray and hope my sister keeps her away from my dad. I don't have much choice. Everyone either has one or two dogs or they are out of the house 10/12 hours. I really don't want her in a kennel for two weeks (really not at all).
