Yes, I think it's one bag per family and about $15-$20. I think the idea is to exchange on our Sun morning Dis meet. I think we just put the place where the bag is from on the outside of the bag.

Anything I'm missing?

What is the process for selection? Is it like dirty Santa where you draw for your turn, but can be taken 2x before being frozen?

Hey Helen - Dave doesn't need to wear a tux, it said online that a tux wasn't necessary but a jacket and nice slacks is requested.

Maybe we can change Dave's mind after you hear from some of the other cruisers and when they visit the casino. Get their opinion - you have until 2 days before the excursion to cancel and get your money back.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. I just told Steve that we can't be in Monaco w/o visiting the Casino. I haven't even mentioned the Bond issue. :) After not having any trouble with his decision of going there - thought I'd save that for later.

Dave will be bringing his suit - but thats as dressed up as he will go ! Its just me wanting the tux;) .

Just checking in, I'll be back later!
sneaky posting :lmao:

This morning's news shows a new way to help with jet lag . . .

"The male impotence drug Viagra may be useful for treating jet lag as well, according to Argentine researchers who gave it to hamsters made to feel like rodent globe-trotters. "

Oh, too funny . . .

I have absolutley no idea what " Dirty Santa is??? Dont think a selection purpose has been discussed yet.

I've just noticed that we are near to 3500! I'm tempted to talk to myself -but thats just not fair. :lmao:

Yep, four of us. But the girls have never flown Intl. Plus, we have a teen and--from a guy's perspective--you know how much junk they take on a trip? So, I have already put disclaimer on how much "stuff" they can take. But I am also planning on having a clothing "showdown" within the next month to verify what they are packing and try to reduce the number of luggage we are taking. I'm liking the "wear 3x rule" that someone mentioned earlier.
Brian

That's a good idea. I took my kids to Spain back in '01, when they were 13 & 12. We were there for about 3 weeks, and took way too many clothes. The cars there are pretty small, compared to American standards, and we had a very tight fit. This time, we're taking a lot of mix & match, and I plan on taking some soap to wash clothes out when we can. My cousin taught me a nice tip about washing unmentionables & socks when you take a shower & just hang them up to dry -- it saves room in the luggage, especially for long trips.

I was trying to keep up with this too and got lost. Are we responsible for providing just ONE bag per family? And was there a final $ put on it?

I think the determination was $15-$20 & one bag per family with the name of the city you're from.

Well, You are a chatty bunch. It has taken me all morning to catch up.:surfweb: I haven't figured out quotes yet and it would take me forever to go back and find ther right one.

SallieP I'm so sorry about your cat. We had to have our 16 year old cat, Betty, put to sleep last July and I still cry about it. My daughter wants a dog but I'm not ready for a broken heart again.:sad2:

We have decided not to bring DD13. Sorry, Sallie! We are booking a 7 night cruise for the 4 of us for next Feb or April vacation. Were considering Royal Caribbean has any one gone with them recently? What's your opinion. Whenwe looked it up the rooms are tiny. You have to book a JR. Suite to get a normal sized room at Disney. That is making us reconsider.

DisneyLover5 we are staying at the AC Barcelona the night before the cruise.:cloud9: I'm a bit worried about how the jetlag will affect me. DH and sleep through anything but I've never been able to sleep on a plane.

General qusetions and Answers:

Favorite food has to be the chocolate souffle with vanilla sauce from Palo.

How are you possible going to take only 1 suitcase each? And how are you going to make it with just 5 pairs of shoes? DH and I don't get many opportunities to dress up and we are planning to do alot of it on the cruise. Especially since we aren't taking the kids.

My husabnd asked the other night if I ws ready to pack yet. I haven't even finished shopping yet.

Kyla My husband is the Paypal person. I'll try to get him to do it tonight if he doesn't Ill PM you for the address and just snailmail it.

We have transfers to the ship through Disney but may cancel them and take a taxi. We don't have Palo reservations and I want to be there early to get onboard and make some if possible. Has anyone seen the thread about Palo, saying that they hold back 50% of the reservations for onboard booking? Is that true?

I think I've caught up with everyone now. But I have to clean my house and catch up on the laundry or there will be a mutiny here. When I get back you will have all posted another 20 pages and I'll be behind again.

Sandra

We will be staying at Grand Marina if this is where you decide to meet the night before the cruise...let us know!!:woohoo:

Are we going to try to check out schedules on a Navigator before we decide a definate time for our gift exchange?? We should be able to see a copy of one before our cruise. Someone will probably post one...:surfweb:

Have a good day....the sun is shinning here at least and supposed to be 80!!:rolleyes1

If anyone is thinking about packing a case of water---just remember how much it will weigh!! You could put a lot of shoes in that suit case and they would weigh a lot less!!

Lucky you on getting the eternal Rome tour. We tried, but it was sold out. Still, we're looking forward to Ultimate Rome.

This is a great idea - but I think you should prioritize & put LA first! :p

i just checked it looked like they had some openings. don't know how many slots you need.

Hi sandra,
You'll have to let me know how the AC Barcelona is as thats where we are stayin after the cruise.

I read on a thread that Palo hold back 70% of the reservations so if you get to the port early you should be in with a very good chance.

How much were your transfers? I dont think a taxi would cost more than 10 Euros from your hotel ( I am just estimating though;) )

When I was in Spain in Feb I went to a supermarket and bought 6 litres of mineral water for under 3 Euros!!! - The high prices that have been mentioned are by vendors at the tourist sites - The supermarkets are great

Helen,
Dh did the booking but I think it was $118. US for the transfer from Airport to hotel, Hotel to Ship and Ship to airport. I can't find the confirmation. If I do I can give you the exact amount.
