Wow maria you're going to get on just fine, helen will find she has competiition when she gets back from holiday...but it doesn't matter to me you are both Brits.

Some of us are not at all competitive and wouldn't ever worry about catching up:rolleyes1
I KNOW LYNN, YOU'RE SOOOO NOT THAT WAY!!:rotfl:

OMG, I have so many pages to catch up on! I just read DisneySpirit's account on losing their passport. I would have died! My husband decided he is going to take a quickie fishing trip up to Canada. I told him if he lost his passport, we are so in trouble.

Welcome DisneySpirit to Rome-ancing the Mouse!

Off to shop...........be back later!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HI Everyone... I'm not getting off this glow necklace thing.. here is a link to the Oriental Trading Website- it has all sorts of party items- I just want you to see what they are in case you dont know what Im talking about.
http://www.orientaltrading.com/appl...t=link.itemDetails&sku=24/8003&tabId=Everyday
If you have a discount store- they usually sell them there- if you have a Dollar Tree, they have them for 25 cents... It will be really easy, and so much fun, to spot each other at dinner or at the fountain, or on sail away night!... if you dont go along with this... I will be forced to suggest very bright, embarrassing tee shirts... dont let me go there.. and they will probably be part polyester... hot flash material for sure !!!!!!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

The glow necklaces sound great.

I love scrapbooking!

Have you seen the thread on the Disney Cruise Line Forum. There are some photos of pages and they look great. I have scrapbooks for our first and second cruises done (except the journalling.) I'm so bad at that.

Have you done digital scrapbooking? There just seems to be so many choices, I can't make up my mind and then don't get anything done. I do better when I'm limited to just what I have on hand.

Anyway what do you think of photgraphing our pages and either bringing them with us or posting them so we can see each others and get ideas? Let me know.

Sandra

Can you post the link to the scrapbooking thread? I would love to see them.

I have my Disney albums done, well except for the Panama Canal. Got behind there but I'm working on it right now! Yes, lets post a picture of ssome of the pages.

Design E is the Winner!

It comes with a badge holder: http://www.kennyproducts.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=KPI&Product_Code=372
To add a badge reel http://www.kennyproducts.com/Mercha...en=PROD&Store_Code=KPI&Product_Code=425-blank, will be another $1 per badge reel.
I was thinking of ordering once I get everyone's payment and bringing them to Barcelona or the DIS meetup to pass out.

I posted this on the previous page, but in case you haven't seen. Some people were confused on how things attach together. Hopefully, this will clear it up:

Here is the lanyard with the badge holder (except ours will be vertical)
113321424_front-thumb.jpg
Here is the lanyard with badge reel (except ours will come as two pieces: a lanyard with J hook (as shown in the above pic). Each badge reels has a belt clip in back. The J hook hooks on the belt clip of the badge reel. See the little tab on the badge reel? That will snap onto the top of the badge holder. The badge holder will hold your Key to the World card. The badge reel is not heavy duty. It is a light string and is made to hold the weight of your badge holder.

Hi,
Been reading in the Live report forums about problems with Credit Cards in Europe etc.
I think I may know what the problem with Credit Cards could be. Europe and the UK have changed to a 'Chip and Pin' system. They have little SIM chip cards in their Credit and Bank cards - it's a visable gold card in the card itself. The cards are not swiped and are inserted into the top of the card reader and the individual then types their pin into the reader. I was in the UK last year and had similar problems with my USA cards - luckly I also have UK bank accounts and cards and I was able to use my UK card.
However we later found that we could use our USA cards - just be sure to tell the checkout clerk that your card is a foreign card that does not have 'chip and pin' and needs to be swiped.

Gasp - away for a day and a flood of messages - and people say things are slow?

Hi Everyone,

Have not been on much - a little bit busy :sad2:

I don't even want to think about this happening. My son (middle one 19) is going to the Bahamas with his friends in June - I am and will be sooooooo worried he will loose it. I know what I went through when we lost/could not find my oldest son's passport recently.:scared1:

Welcome to Joehardy and pretty soon the new family once they come on over and join us.

I once chaperoned a youth group through Europe and had to hold all the passports. The thought of losing 50 or so passports - I actually slept with them, I was so nervous....

Hi Everyone. DisneySpirit here. We missed our cruise to the Med on 5/26 because of a lost passport while traveling to Barcelona. For the gorey details read our trip report for the current 5/26 Magic Med cruise. But, the good news is we will be joining all of you now instead. We don't know our room # as yet but have a Cat 6 guaranteed (Deluxe stateroom with verandah) We want to fly out a day earlier this time so could sure use some hotel suggestions for Barcelona.
Looking forward to meeting all of you!

DisneySpirit

Tom (56) Lynn (55)

Welcome Tom & Lynn - and the others I missed in my quick reading. You have my sympathy regarding the mis-adventure. It's certainly worse than anything I've been though (and I have stories....). It sounds like you met some really amazing people along the way.

I didnt mean to worry anyone, but I think the heads up is well needed- get to airport very early no matter where you ae leaving from- there have been news reports each day about the air traffic problems and delays...Friends of ours went to Florence a few weeks back for their anniversary. They were to leave out of Kennedy, had their tickets for months. They arrived at the airport 2 hours early. When they got to the check in area, they were told the flight was over booked- for about about 8 other people!!! Tom( the husband) said there was a lot of screaming, yelling, pointing fingers etc, but no one wanted to give up their seats even with great incentives. So, they were given a hotel, and voucers for 2 free plane tickets, and a first class ride over the next day. But, Patti said, she missed what amounted to 2 full days ( with the time change) of her vacation.. Ive been worried since, and we are arriving 3 days before !!!!

I'm arriving the day before, and I'm worried. I'm actually more worried about my luggage missing a connection than my not getting on the cruise.

I have a few q's.. (I have *never* cruised before.. so it's not really in comparison to other cruise lines but more of a 'cruising for dummies' ;) )

What is really the difference between formal/semi-formal nights? I read it somewhere awhile ago in an old post and now I'm not finding what I'm looking for. Do men *have* to wear tuxes on formal nights? (no idea where I'd find that in the middle of nowhere, Sicily..). Dark dressy suit and tie okay? For formal is it actual super fancy ballgowns or something you'd almost wear as a bridesmaid dress or is it dressed down? If you don't what to go that route can you just eat elsewhere that night?
And for semi-formal.. then is it more cocktail dresses, etc.? Do most people do the formal/semi-formals.. esp being a long cruise?
ETA: We love dressing up.. my main concern is the cruise is only 8 weeks away (hooray!) and we live out in the country where we don't really have access to shops for gowns/tuxes. Might be able to order cocktail dresses and that type online for atleast the semi-formal.. but if not many do it I wouldn't want to waste my time, kwim? It sounds so fun!!!

I'm sure I'll have more Q's soon. Thanks for letting me ask! :flower1:

I'm usually pretty informal, not quite diamond studded jeans, but close. But on reading some of the comments, the thought of renting a tux rather than carrying a jacket is appealing, so I'm reconsidering.

Sallie,
I'd like to send you the thread for scrapbooking but have no clue how. Also, have not been able to post pictures on the board either. I'll try again later.

It's been a difficult weekend and hopping in to see what's going on the Dis has helped to keep my mind busy and give me something to look forward to.

My son's 16 year old friend was killed in a car accident and I had to take him to the wake today and the funeral is tomorrow. WHat do you say to a Mom or Dad who has lost their 16 year old daughter?

I don't mean to bring the board down but please give your kids a big hug tonight and tell them how much you love them. I'm so glad we have booked a cruise with the kids for next February. Making those memories just seems so much more important now.

THanks for the diversion and for listening.

Sandra

Welcome DisneySpirit to Rome-ancing the Mouse!

You don't need a passport to drive to Canada - just to fly. That'll change at the first of the year though.

How awful Sandra - when my son was in high school, they had a few tragedies - it is too sad and hard. No words - just be there.

Prayers to the family and all the loved ones.:sad1:

Sandra, I have no words for you and the heartbroken parents of your son's friend. Only time and prayers will somehow ease the pain, although I have found that time passing just makes me miss my parents that much more. I will pray for all of you at this time- and I will hug my only child that much tighter tonight. God Bless you all.
