SI & AM I tell ya! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I have a pin with Si & Am on it and they are almost in the same postions and another one with their tails up in the air! Uncanny!

Beautiful! Makes me want to go AH!!!! :cloud9:

Hope your other cat (Cleo?) warms up to them.

Thanks for posting that blog...it is making me think twice about that tour. I have 3 kids and one has some health issues and is what I would call frail....I'm not sure this is a good idea for us....I'm so glad that I realized how strenuous it would be before we got into it. It's a shame because I really wanted to see David. Hopefully another time. C'est la vie....
Penny
Apparently, it was worse b/c of the holiday? It was a great report but I wasn't too interested after that either......however, I heard it is an amazing sight to see....:confused3

Laura, if you're still on, thanks for birthday wishes for Elizabeth -- yes, I did get up this morning and make her a CAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We even had a bit more tonight before bedtime . . .

Yum! I was just trolling the blogs for pictures of :cake: found some tart cake and fruit :cake: - made me fancy a slice myself.

Good going with your DD - enjoy. Hope she got everything she wanted. They do get hard to please as they get older don't they?

Hey Julie - where are you staying on your return from Paris to Barcelona? And what day are you flying back?

My friends and I are considering doing the Segway tour on or after we get there which should be the 15th.

exactly.

I get it.....sometimes I just get it better than other times.
:jester:
Don't feel bad, I totally didn't get it, until someone got one while I was in....then I really got it!!:rotfl:

My DD will be 16 in November.

Welcome to all new cruisers!

Welcome back Helen and Andrew!

Andrew, beautiful pictures of the villa.

Helen, congratulations on your new car.

Salliep, congratulations on your kittens.

I meant to say all of this earlier............:rolleyes1

I was listening to a podcast from one of the cruisers. She turned me onto some private company. Then as I was researching further, realized that their cars and vans are Mercedes!

Can you imagine being chauffered around in Mercedes? Might make me feel :snooty: Moi? Never! :rotfl2:

I quickly sent them a message asking for a quote since I noticed that they do a 9 hr tour of Pompeii, Herculuaneum and Mt. Vesuvius (?) which are all the spots I wanted to hit anyway. And DCL only does Pompeii with Amalfi Coast which is a dead NO since I've read the blogs and Sorrento which is another no. DD was going to go on the Herculaneum tour and I really had wanted to do the Mt. Ves.... hike but had no takers. So here is the best of both worlds. And it's just as long as DCL. So I'm waiting to hear from them.

Also, At La Espezia - her podcast really recommended taking a private tour since you won't be at the mercy of a hot and overcrowded bus. And - her driver even was able to get them a specified time to climb the tower!  Everyone here has agreed that we must climb the tower! We aren't must of wine drinkers anyway so if they can beat DCL, why not - might make DH and DD and BFF less  (That icon is so appropriate!)

Maybe if I ever get back to Italy with just my DH we'll give it a go. All the traveling in buses is making me rethink what I want to do. Sometimes the best memories are just having a local meal and strolling through a town looking for something that catches out interest. I want this to be a vacation and not feel like too much work.

Mostly, we're going DCL b/c I've never been to Europe and we're complete novices.......I'm just reading all the blogs and threads to get the current cruisers opinions..........:confused3

Dang! That Brit on the other side of the pond is up to 843!!!!

But do yu know what is sad? I don't work, I am lucky enough to play and I STILL can't keep up! I though I had insomnia! How does that man do it? :lmao:

In other play - Helen and Joann have pulled to within 10 of each other but JoAnn is up right now - maybe she can pull back ahead! :rotfl:

Word to the wise..........in the past, you could change your excursions prior to sailing but once you're onboard, you can't change them easily (if at all!) So if anyone is thinking of changing or canceling..............DO IT SOON!:scared:

JoAnn - I was told that you can still change up to within 2 days of excursion date. Have they changed that too?

This is a hard habit to break.............I've been posting to some friends (including Lynn) who sailed with us in 2007..........THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO BE JOINING US BUT MOST OF THEM BAILED AFTER BOOKING........one of them is a lurker who's thinking about changing their minds and I KNOW THEY'RE PLANNING ON SURPRISING US.............we have nicknames for them....Bobster & Lucky..........:wave2: :love2:

I don't want to go back and search through this large site for the kids site (lazy)
My youngest son is 12 and I'd like to get him chatting with some other kids his age before the cruise as he's somewhat shy and maybe this would help speed up the friend making process somewhat so can someone post it again please. thanks.

Thx, I was just about to do this!

So are we but the more I read the blogs and podcasts - the more I'm wondering and then with Andrew saying he's going private - I have to wonder. I'm was scared too and wanted to do all Disney but those descriptions of high prices and windy roads 1/2 my party would be so   ! Then I'd be playing nursemaid to them and I'd be more like nursemad.

Oh why does my better half get soo sick? :sad2:

I really like the Disney approach.......but I'm thinking that maybe we should take one day off and stay onboard so we don't get too burned out for the end of the trip!
