July 26...who's coming with me???

I like the idea of meeting after the sail away party since we will not be at the Radisson on Friday night. And everyone should be at the sail away party. It's a blast. Here's another idea. We could kill some time while waiting in line to board the ship and look out for one another then. If you guys meet on Friday night you could maybe put together a plan to find those of us who will get there on Saturday morning. We are planning to arrive at the terminal between 10 and 10:30. It can be a scavenger hunt of sorts. Just an idea.

We're getting so close now, guys!

Whatever is decided about dismeet is fine on our end. We're pretty good at following the crowd! We'll do our best to try and "hook up" with everyone.

MBFergie: Allison is away at camp for a week, but mentioned to me before she left that she had a "chat" with you and that you were very understanding and reassuring to her. Thanks! ;)

cheers :smooth: (and feel free to share any and all great packing ideas you may have)

After the sail way a party would be good for us too. Were staying at the Hyatt on Friday night. I believe at least one other family will be there as well.

The kids are anxious to meet their new friends Christopher, Morgan and Timmy. DW and I are anxious to relax and a few adult cocktails.

As Alan and Jimmy say it's 5:00 somewhere.

I like the idea of being at the dock around 10:30. My kids will be up and climbing the walls at dawn. This may sound cheesy but we could wear a name tag with our DIS name for quicker recognition.

We arrive at MCO at 6:30. So we should at the Hyatt and be ready to dunk the kids in the pool and relax with a libation by 8:00. We'd welcome any company who'd like to drop by to get acquainted.

:jester: Can you believe it's almost here?:Pinkbounc

Cheryl,

I think we get in around 5:30. Maybe we will see you at the pool. I'm sure my kids will want to head there.

We plan on being on the first bus out of MCO. Are you taking the Disney bus or do you have other transportation to the port ?

Glenn

We will be at the Raddison pool around 8ish if all goes well. I hope to get on first shuttle or else we will have DH drop us off and come back and take shuttle by himself.

I posted another thread asking of suggestions on where/when to meet. Let's see the suggestions and set something up soon. I know some people are heading out earlier. Lucky!!!!!

My DH asked if I just want to sleep at the terminal since I'm so excited....wish I could!!

I'm thinking of wearing a bright shirt the day at port. I will post what color once I find one. (Maybe my DH will wear a baseball cap then is easy to pick out) I know my DD will be going up to all girls who look 12 and ask...are you jordan, alli, kayla, keelee, till she finds who she's looking for. She loves to talk so she'll be bouncing around.

I CAN'T WAIT TO MEET EVERYONE!!:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Did anybody go to Home Depot and get the green Mickey head paint chips? I've got some, but the family has already informed me that they would rather be dead:rolleyes:
than wear them!!!

Hi Everyone. My DW, DD (4) and I will be sailing with all of you. I saw someone else with a 4 year old DD...hope there's more! We are staying at Disney Animal Kingdom Resort for two nights before cruise time. 1st time there for the DW and DD! Looking forward to meeting many of you!

Marie-
We plan on arriving at the Radisson Friday night around 7:00. However, we are coming from Disney World and dragging me away from there is like trying to take a 4 year old out of Chuck E. Cheese's. So, I think we will arrive at the Radisson around 8ish. We could be at the pool for 8:30.

Kerri-
I think little green Mickey paint chips from Home Depot is where my DH would draw the line. I subject him to enough already (he said is Fantasy Football buddies make fun of this Mickey Mouse shirts). LOL

I think after the sail away party for our meet seems to be the best time for everyone. Now, can one of you Disney Cruise Veterans assign us a place and approximate time.

If anyone wants to search for me at the terminal, we plan on arriving at 10:30 and I will be in an orange shirt with a big bald guy wearing a Mickey Shirt his DW bought him.

Meeting during and/or after the the Sail-a-way party, at 5:00pm on deck 10 on the starboard side, looking over the goofy pool.

I didn't come up with this...it was suggested on the thread I put out on suggestions.

Hopefully between some meeting at the Raddison, some at the Hyatt, the port and this meet we should be able to meet everyone.

hurry up days!!!!!!!

Marie,
That sounds like a good suggestion. Although I do know that some of the kids will want to be right on deck 9 in the middle of all the action. My kids will be fine up on deck 10. That's where we were on the last cruise. It can get very crowded down on deck 9.
So, count us in for being there during the party at 5:00. We like to wave to the CM's at the port when we pull away from the dock. So, this is a good spot. We will also see ya at the Radisson.
Kerri

that we forgot to pack all our hang up clothes and that st. martin was a lush green island. okay 1) we know st. martin in not lush nor green and 2) if i leave my clothes at home more shopping for me!!!!

OK - We will be staying at Old Key West through Saturday morning but expect to arrive at the terminal around 10:00-10:30. So we will not be at the Radisson pool Friday night. At the terminal, we will be near a woman wearing an orange shirt who will be next to a bald guy (see Dawn's earlier post). I kinda like the idea of name tags. Let's see ... I'm gonna make a name tag with "DisneyWorldBorntoShop's DH" written on it. If Dawn's husband wears it, then maybe I'd wear one too. Don't think that's gonna happen though! And, as organized as I am, I do not know what I will be wearing just yet. But, I will find you guys and vice versa. Deck 10 for sail away at 5:00 is a sure thing. Just think - by then we will have been partying for hours already. Come on next week, get here!

I'm still here. I've been reading all the posts. We should be able to meet at the Radisson pool in the evening. Hope to be there early afternoon also. myself DH, DS(15),(13),(11), DD(6)

We booked the 7:45 Golden Eagle Catamaran too! Had thoughts of changing it to 1:00 but DH didn't want to. I was a little confused about St. Maartin's time zone.
FYI St. Maartin is in the Atlantic time zone. So, I called the excursion desk to see if we were changing clocks ahead 1 hr. When they checked, they said "yes." However, after checking on line, St. Maartin doesn't follow the daylight savings time so during the summer months it is the same as Eastern Daylight savings, in the winter, it is 1 hr ahead of US East coast.

Thank goodness! 7:45 is early enough for me... wouldn't want to loose an extra hour.

Diane

OK! I see that lately there’s been talk of some big bald guy that everyone will be standing next to and supposedly he will be covered with a variety of different colored paint chip samples from Home Depot, Name tags and anything else his wife can think of. Next thing you know she will have the poor man dressed in a Mickey suit and dancing around the pool at the hotel singing When You Wish upon a Star.

Well, I am that big bald guy and while I don't mind making a fool out of my self, by walking around with a montage of paint chip samples, I don't think it would be to much to ask if I at least got the opportunity to meet a few of you all first.

I should have known something was up when I heard the guy at Home Depot say “Miss! You can't stuff all those in your pocket, we need some for the other customers" to which she replied "but, but, you don't understand, they are for my husband". Yea, now I know what she meant!

Then I find my buddy VolleyballNDisney making name tags for me?

Good thing we can bring alcohol with us cuz I have a feeling I gona need it.
:bounce: :smooth: :smooth: :bounce:

"Good thing we can bring alcohol with us cuz I have a feeling I gona need it." I second this!!!!

Thank you for my morning laugh!! I'm having such a miserable day at work I really needed it. I'm actually thinking of making up a shirt that says "I'm looking for the bald guy?" What do you think??

This is getting scary. I definitely think I will need some boat drinks.

Can't wait to meet all of you at the Sail-a-way party. As I'm sitting at work (obviously not working), just thinking in a week I will be sitting on deck enjoying life.

MBFergie, I echo your work expierences. I'm in IT and I was paged last night at Midnight to deal with some issues. :( :(

DCL = NO pagers

DH is in IT and I swear that everytime we are going on vacation or have something to do, something at work crashes and he has to go in and fix it.

MIL and parasailing grandmaw won't be able to cruise with us. The MRI came back showing the infection is still present. We'll find out how good DCL travel insurance is. Guess we'll have to sacrifice and go on another cruise with them next year.

I see that my DH is getting excited. He would never read these boards before and now he is making "funnies" left and right.

I spoke to the concierge service yesterday. When I casually asked about bringing on wine, she said, " you can carry it on, but they will certainly stop you if you try to bring on a case." So much for that idea! "I'd only bring a bottle or two." So what do we do the other 6 days?:p :D :D :D

OK, frequent travelers: packing tips, please. And, unwrinkling tips after arrival also welcome.

So much to do. Too few suitcases!
