We just got off of the Magic today-- she is looking good!!!! My daughter was so sad we were getting off (it was a short, 5d/ 4n cruise), but we're already counting down to our next trip!

We can't wait for next July. Glad you had a great time. :cool1:

Just had 12 nights of great food on the Magic,

Lots of food and other photos here.

Liked reading your blog. Is the food as good as it looks? We love great food, so I am hoping DCL doesn't let us down.

I do classics like thst, the Poem bus last week on my blog from Barcelona, should have been the port bus on my blog, and a quiet village was spelt quite wrong.

Hi Clairelow! Welcome to our page! My son will be 11 on the cruise, so hopefully he'll run into your boys at one of the kid's clubs.

Hi everyone

Can anyone recommend which of Rick Steves books will be best for my planning for this cruise?

Thanks in advance

Andrea

Hi. We've bought the Northern European Cruise Ports book. Enough information on each port to plan easily without been in too much detail. The front of the book talks generally about cruising and then each port is tackled in turn. It has other port in too like Oslo and Warnemunde as well as information on London for those not familiar with the city.

I looked at several others before I decided and thought this was better than getting lots of the little guides at £3-5 each.Someone said the book is designed to be ripped apart so you take the port info out you need for that day.

Hope this helps!

Hi all

I'm so excited counting down the days and it's still so far away!

Has a fish extender group been started yet for this trip and also could someone tell me how it works we've never done it before?

Thank you

Andrea x

I'm happy to say that we do have a FE group started, and there are already 18 participating cabins! :cool1:

To join, send me a “Private Message” with the following information:
*Cabin Number
*Names of everyone in your cabin
*Ages of children
*Any allergy considerations
*The size of the FE group you want to be in: No more than 20, No more than 40, No more than 60, or Sky’s the Limit

Here's my best explanation of how a Fish Extender Exchange works:
Beside every cabin door is a large silver fish with an indentation in the back for cruise personnel to leave information, invitations, etc. DISboarders have taken the silver fish one step further... by creating hanging pockets (much like cloth letter holders) to hang from the fish - thus the name, "Fish Extender". Fish Extenders (FEs) can be made of practically anything (cloth, plastic, paper gift bags, etc.), as long as they have at least one pocket that can hold surprises. My first FE was just a plain medium-sized canvas bag purchased from a local craft supplies store.

Some people give one gift per cabin, some people give a little gift to each person. It's totally up to the giver to decide what to give and when to give it during the cruise.

There are several threads that discuss ideas for FE gifts. Some gifts are from Dollar Stores, some are handmade, and some are bought in bulk from websites that sell trinkets like the Oriental Trading Company. Often, they are stickers, candy, glow sticks, lanyards, luggage tags, magnets, mugs, frames, etc., with themes such as pirates, beach, cruise, tropical, hometown, holiday, etc. The main idea is just to have fun finding little goodies in your FE throughout the cruise. Kids LOVE running back to their cabin to see if anything's been left in their FE. As an adult, I have to admit that I really enjoy it, too!!!

Since a lot of us are traveling internationally for this cruise, we will close the list on Friday, June 19, 2015, to give everyone time to get their gifts together and pack them. I will send all participants a PM on Saturday, June 20, 2015, with your FE group information. You'll need to print that final list of participants and pack it with your gifts so you'll know where to deliver them once you're onboard the ship.

Hope this helps! :thumbsup2

Thank you so much that does sound fun I will pm you.

Do people tend to spread them out during the cruise or do you tend to find them all in one day?

I think my DD will love finding surprises and taking ours round the ship :-)
