If anyone has any questions regarding Harry Potter's Studio, please PM or let me know.

Our family went there last summer after the DCL Greek Cruise. We had a great time.

We enjoyed the early tours, studio, and the gift shop. Once we were leaving ~ 3:30 p.m./15:30, there were wrapped lines to enter the studio.

We purchased our tickets well in advance and purchased them for 12:30 p.m.

The double decker bus from the station to the studios was great. There was a fee for each passenger.

Just remember to purchase a roundtrip/return ticket.

Does anyone know what neighborhood the British Museum is in? Not familiar with the area. I am trying to book a place to be able to travel to several places.

Then, take a transfer from there to Dover. I might have to reread the thread on the carpool bus over to Dover.

Thanks everyone!

We're going this summer-- how far in advance do you think I need to buy the tickets?

We went at the end of June last summer. I believe we bought the tickets about this time last year. I don't know if we would have needed to buy them this early but we were only going to be there a couple of days so I wanted to make sure I got the day we wanted. We had a great time there too!

Our tickets were for the end of June and we booked them 4 mos. in advance.

So, here's what the trend is for booking tickets at the studio.

4 mos in advance for earliest tour time is the 1st tour 9 a.m. (hardly no-one at all)

3 mos. in advance for earliest tour time is 11:30 a.m. (approximately 30 people in line - our wait @ 12:30 p.m. was 15 mins. with the tickets and getting through the 1st set of doors to start the tour)

2 mos. in advance for earliest tour time is 1:30 p.m. (long lines start forming)

If you wait 1 mos before purchasing the tickets, the only times which are available are after 3 p.m. (this is when is it extremely crowded.

I hope this helps.

By the way, there are two cafes, lots of restrooms, great interactive stuff for everyone. However, the extras just like DL and DW is a little pricey.

Our children (DD13 & DD11) absolutely loved it.

I hope this helps!:cheer2:

Thank you, it definitely helps. This is going on the to-do list.

Wow! Great details. I think I just lucked into getting a good time. I must have booked them sooner than I realized. I booked tickets for Wicked probably about January or February for last June. And maybe I did HP not long after because what we were doing each day was falling into place.

I could have had 9:00 or later but didn't want to go quite that early. I think we booked ours for about 11:00 am.

I was impressed with the transportation details on their website. I used that to plan the train to take and then got the bus from the train station to the studio. It was very easy.

Hello,

British Museum is near Russell Sq / Holborn area. Depends what the several places are for example the British Museum is only 20min walk from Trafalgar Sq. London is easy to get around using the tube or on foot for many of the sites.

I am organising the London to Dover Transport, if you want to join us PM me or Celestine (my DW) with how many seats you require. Info on page 1 of this thread.

If you need any other advice just ask...

Paul

For those planning to go to the Harry Potter Studio Tour, the studio is a little way out of central London (Leavesden, Watford) which takes a 20 minute rail trip from the London terminus Euston and then wait for a bus which is another 15 minutes.

However, our family loved it so it's worth the trip for everyone (DW isn't into Harry Potter but enjoyed it, particularly the Butter beer). However, the shop seemed to be overpriced, we had to buy a wand for DS1.

I used to work in the office building opposite Leavesden Studios for several years whilst the filming was taking place. We saw various props including the triple decker bus (Night Bus) being driven around, and often saw animals being exercised during the day although I never saw the triple headed dog (Fluffy).

I have never seen Doctor Who. That sounds like something we will enjoy.

Fantastic show. On in USA as well.

Hi.

I am Esther from Spain. My family and me are going to join you in the Baltic cruise. It is going to be our 7th disney cruise.

I will send now the PM for FE and the Facebook page.

I can't star to planning that cruise yet, this summer we have two DLC, a Greek one (12 days) and a Spanish one (4days). Still need to finish these ones.

Almost forgot a friend of a friend is a curator at the British Museum, we are seeing them this weekend. May be able to swing a private tour for a Disboards group....Not promising that yet though. But I will ask.

That would be exciting! We would like to join if it becomes available for the group.

Thank you!

We took the train from a hotel near LHR. It was great for our family! I wish that we took a camera. We switched trains and buses so many times. :)

I think the fun part was the double decker bus, the Harry Potter bus, and the Paddington Express, which was REALLY a nice express train.

I know the UK folks will laugh, but we left @ 9:30 a.m. and arrived right at our ticket time 12:30 p.m.

It was so neat!

We love British humor!
