July 2016

We just booked a trip, for June 30-july 5. I was pretty shocked there wasn't a bigger "official" Julynthread with how busy it is over that time. I looked for a fb group too and couldn't find anything. I thought about creating one myself. I loved my groups for my 2014 trip.

As long as you aren't actively driving traffic over there or posting direct links/explicit search instructions its fine. :)

Awesome, Thanks! I still love and frequent this forum even if I have that!

I have created it but haven't done much with it yet!

Split Stay for July 2016! Poly July 2-5, AKL 5-8. BLT 8-11. Boardwalk June 26-July 2. 2016. We had a most difficult time with fastpasses, all set as best as can be, for now. I am so excited!!! I can't seem to fold bath towels, I keep spreading a towel out on the living room floor, or atop our bed, I plop down and dream that I am poolside at one of our resort stays.

Wow that is a lot of moving around!!

@Shellyb84 We have always hotel hopped, but not so many short stays in a short vacation. The usual for this time frame would have been 3 resorts, our daughter loves BLT, so we added that in the mix. I do have the room organization down to a science!

Those of you that have been during 4th of July before....what special holiday activities are "can't miss"? We have been to WDW several times in the last few years, so want to focus on specific holiday events this trip. We plan to catch both the MK and EP fireworks; are any of the parades different for the holiday? Any characters out in special costumes? Anything else specific to the holiday? Thanks in advance!!

We were there last year, both the MK fireworks and the Epcot shows were amazing! Do not miss the Epcot fireworks!! The only other special event that I recall is that our resort had a 4th of July beach party (we stayed at the BC). I'm guessing other resorts had similar parties. If there was anything else going on, we didn't notice.

So fellow July 4th visitors, what park are you going to that day?? We're planning on AK the first half of the day, then Epcot after dinner.

We will be at Epcot. Doing MK on the 3rd.

And thanks for the info above!

We're going to go to Epcot - try to RD FEA then wait in the loooong line for soaring (husband approved - we used our tier 1 for Illuminations) and do whatever else we like. Grab some lunch then head back to our resort (poly) until later in the afternoon or evening.

We'll do MK on the 3rd but we've decided to go order 'Ohana room service for dinner and just watch the fireworks from the CL lounge that night. I might head back into the part for EMH later on after people have had a chance to clear out a little after them depending on how much we get done during the day... :scratchin

We are staring at the Poly as well...though not CL :( Planning to order the Twilight Feast arrival night! We have the MK dessert party booked to avoid the crowds on 7/3.

We also used our tier 1 for Illuminations on 7/4 so the current debate in our house is what we are going to hit at RD. I think we've all agreed it's going to be either Soarin or FEA (sorry, Test Track, nothing new to see there!)

We wouldn't be either but we got our first ever (maybe only ever, lol) PIN code that included it. pixiedust:This may be the only time in my life I can justify it! Since the Soarin' queue is inside we figure it won't be quite so bad as the FEA queue but who knows? I haven't seen it yet! There is also the small fact that my husband could care less about FEA whereas he likes Soarin, so he's just plum more willing to wait longer for that one. ;)

That is awesome! In all my years I've never received a single PIN code (and I've tried all the tricks!) Clearly Disney knows we will keep coming back with or without a discount!! :rotfl:

In case anyone has not seen, July hours were updated (a little). Basically MK open until 11 pm on July 1-2 and AK open until 11 all month. DHS still showing an 8:30 close, and MK still has 10 pm for all other nights.
