July 2016

AK is open until 11pm on July 3rd! I may have to check out the nighttime events. We were going to wait until out September trip, but I'm not sure I can resist.

Joining the July party! I'm a little late, but I've been hanging out in the official April 2016 thread before now since my family just went on a late April trip. I am heading solo to a conference 7/21-7/28 in Orlando. I'll be visiting WDW on 7/22 and 7/27, and might make other evening visits if/when I'm able to through the week. I'm hoping the AK hours are adjusted soon for later in July - right now, AK still closes at 5:00pm on 7/22! :sad2:

They just released the hours for June. I'm hoping we don't have to wait as long, but I'm not optimistic. They are still working out issues with some of the nighttime events at AK, and they have posted June Star Wars fireworks as being the old show only running 3 days a week- rumored to be because of some issues with materials for the new show. And MK was only extended to 11:00 most days in June. AK should have longer hours in July, though!

Apparently the DPB released a lot of info today- and FP+ for Frozen and Jungle Book will both be available tomorrow. I believe dining packages as well for Jungle Book. NO FP+ for A&E meet and greet- just the ride. At DHS the 3rd track for TSMM will be open starting next weekend, and Star Wars projection show/fireworks will start June 17th and is supposed to be every night.

I'm thinking there will be more hours updated soon.

Just finding this thread- planning for July has been a headache! I was able to book evening activities at AK for my AK day (7/16) this morning. Jungle Book not available yet- probably have to wait until 7AM.

Curious I did not see any EE fast passes past 7:30. I doubt they are full since these fast passes just opened up. Maybe they are closing at 8:30?

I'm solo for this one (conference), so I plan to eat at the Nomad Lounge instead of trying for a JB dinner package. Hoping to score a fast pass for FEA and JB at 7 and I'll be set!

MK still shows a 10PM close, although Wishes is still showing 10PM. Hopefull will get an update this AM.

Just was able to get a Tusker House Jungle Book Package for breakfast! We already had a reservation for that morning at Tusker House so just looked for a package time that was similar in time and found one! So excited! Now if the FP+ page would work and I can finalize my plans! Stupid Frozen!

Was able to go to the App and it pulled right up! Changed our TT FP to FEA for my Frozen obsessed 5 year old! This trip is going to be awesome! 48 days!

Yes, it was frustrating this AM. Was finally able to snag a FP for FEA and JB and a night time safari. Still not seeing any FP's for Everest after 7:30.

Late to the thread. We (myself, DH, DS, DD) are headed down July 27-29 for 3 days (Wed-Fri) before driving to Port Canaveral on Saturday for our 7 night Eastern Caribbean cruise on the Fantasy! The WDW trip is for my 40th birthday and we will celebrate our 17th wedding anniversary on the cruise! It's my 10th trip, everybody else's 4th.

We have 3 day hoppers so the plan is to head to DHS on Wed to ride and stay for Star Wars fireworks. Thurs is MK with lunch at BOG. Fri is stressing me out a bit as we plan to rope drop Frozen at EPCOT( omg how bad is it going to be lol!) then walk around before heading to lunch at Beaches and Cream. Fri late afternoon and evening will be spent at AK.

We almost always go in July, and I quite look forward to the heat and sun. It's 50° where I am today with a week to go to Memorial Day!

We will be coming down for a short trip from 7/2-7/6 (1 night WL; 3 nights Poly). Really excited as I haven't told the kids yet and this is a spontaneous trip to use up some expiring air miles. The bonus of getting to stay at the Poly is the icing on the cake. It's a bucket list item and usually doesn't fit in our budget. But I hit a fluke in the price on a studio yesterday and it wasn't much more than our original plan to stay at YC (It's already much higher for the same room today).

Since this isn't planning at my usually hundreds of days out and we purchased annual passes for the first time... it's been an interesting experience already. I'll be travelling alone with my 2 kids (5 & 7) - my husband hates the heat and is opting out of this one. Currently - trying to figure out how best to enjoy the parks without going crazy in the crowds (though we went in March/April just after Easter and it was insane) for a short trip. We usually stay for at least 7 nights or more so we counter crowds with the pool. I'd like to see the fireworks but the kids are not night owls and the noise would be tough (my daughter has ear disabilities/issues). Any thoughts? I was thinking about watching just MK from the Poly but my reading thus far seems to indicate that it gets overwhelmed with non-poly guests and you'd have to sit at the beach starting around 5PM. That's not really a feasible option travelling alone with the two kids.

I believe the pool area is poly guests only and the fireworks are visible from there...

I think you should definitely watch MK show from Poly since you're staying there -- it's such a treat and in our opinion one of the best spots to watch the show. You will be surprised at all of the different spots you can find -- maybe even right near your studio somewhere. It doesn't have to be perfect right on the beach -- there are lots of other areas that would probably be just fine. I'll be there too and can't wait!!

Thanks for the info! That was my hope - that we could meander and find a decent place to watch. Kids don't need perfect at all - just not jam packed. I think we will try to watch on the 3rd and then we are going to go to the new AKL jungle book show on the 4th. I was able to get a Tusker reservation and I think it will be the least busy in park show and my littles will likely enjoy it.

I just saw on tikiman's feed that they are putting in extra speakers so you can hear wishes better from the beach! :)

Made my fast passes this morning. Everything was available we wanted but Animal Kingdom night time and Frozen at Epcot. Just waiting on those to open up. 60 days to go!!!! Can't wait!!!
My fastpass window opens up on Tuesday morning, so did you guys get yours at 7am eastern?? I am so used to doing this at midnight and really prefer to get it done then when everyone is asleep.
