July 2016 Check in!!

Me too! We are there for 6 nights, and I booked Minnie's, Ariel's for lunch, Cafe Orleans (lunch), and Carnation Cafe (dinner).

We'll be there the 24-29 staying at the Disneyland Hotel. This will be our 2nd time to DL as we are WDW veterans. I'm so excited!!

We will be there the 16-21. This is our 3rd trip with my sister-in-law and her family. Last summer, I FINALLY got to be in Disneyland on July 17, and now I'll be there for Disneyland's birthday again! We planned our trip around the Texas Rangers schedule... most of the group is going to watch them play the Angels.

I've been trying to think if there is anything I want to book for this trip and I can't think of it. We love the Carthay Circle WOC package but we did that last July and again in Jan when we took our college aged sons. I don't feel like we need to see that particular WOC show again. Love PTN but we got excellent seats at the last minute when we went in Jan so I don't feel the need for a package for that either. Usually, we have something special booked but I guess we won't this trip. I feel like I should be doing something but can't think what. If the tour still did Walt's apartment I'd do that in a second.

Going Jul 6 to 12th. Staying is up b/w Park Vue Inn and Residence Inn Maingate. Decisions decisions...

Where did you view PTN? And how far in advance did you save your spots? Just deciding whether or not to do BB package. I know Nancy has suggested watching by the Alice potties and I know where those are, but not sure where exactly to stand and if I want to save spots too early. : )

Just to update, we selected the Residence Inn by Marriott Maingate. I also want to say I got through to make reservations for PTN and WOC today! Now I'm excited again...:yay::flower::yay:

In Jan, we saw it on a very uncrowded evening and sat down on Main Street 15 min before the parade. Last July when we first saw it, we went to the second parade and sat down by the Alice bathrooms at 10pm. We had a great view there and it was less time waiting than the first show. You will probably see people sitting there already. Actually, what we did that night was the BB for F! for first showing, then over to the Alice bathroom for PTN. Of course, F! isn't showing now so that part isn't possible. If you want to see the first show, I'd look in to a package. I haven't checked out this one specifically, so you'd have to read reviews if the viewing is good. For myself, I've decided I'd rather do a package with a nice meal than wait somewhere for 3 hours. Or we do second shows- it is just my husband and I now so we can stay up late.

Thanks! I'm not into waiting too long either. If the desserts looked better for WOC I might book that. I'm tempted. Just doesn't look too enticing. I guess you're mostly paying for the seats. Thanks for the info about the PTN spot. We might do that. Or a Bb package. Decisions decisions. Fun stress

I feel the same way too, we have done the same WOC packages last July and Christmas time. Also, we see the second showing of PTN near the Alice restrooms so we never worry about getting a good view. If Fantasmic was still showing, we might have booked another BB package. I did book some dinner reservations - one of them being River Belle Terrace to try the ribs and coleslaw since BTBBR is no longer there and DD loves the coleslaw. After our March trip to WDW, I feel like I should be booking all sorts of dining reservations but I must tell myself that this is DL and there is no need to plan everything. LOL And I agree with the Walk in Walt's Footsteps tour ... if only we can see the apartment, then we would book that too. :-)

We're driving from Utah to Anaheim July 14-19, staying at the Hampton Inn. Then we're off to Vegas for a couple nights on the way home. :woohoo:

I have to say though, as much as I love F!, I am looking forward to walking around New Orleans area at night without a giant mess. Normally, we avoid that area in the evening unless we are seeing the show. Must be nice over there now! We did WDW too for the first time a few years ago and I'm glad I don't have to book my DLR meals 6 months in advance, or my rides 90 day ahead of time!

I agree PinkBudgie. My favorite thing about last fall's Halloween Party was ROA/NOS free of the typical F! hordes. We are going to try the WOC dessert seating to see if that improves quality of evening entertainment experience at DCA. (It always seemed like double punishment to wait for hour+ to see WOC and then have to stand through show and still have a good chance of view being blocked by shoulder sitting kids in front of you.) We also able to secure all the reservations we'd hoped for except a pool cabana at DLH. I just waited too long to try to book that. Oh well.

I totally agree about walking around New Orleans area at night without all the F! crowd. We know to avoid that part of the park in the evenings when F! is on. Yes, it will be nice not to plan our meals 6 months in advance or our FP+ but we did like the Magic Bands - they were very handy.

We gt all the reservations we were after :yay:

Doing:

WOC colour dessert party
Blue Bayou Paint the Night Package
Minnies Breakfast
Ariels Grotton lunch
Surf's Up Breakfast

Bibbity Bobbity Boutique is booked

Car Hire is booked

Angels Tickets bought

Now to just wait and pack.... so excited

I'm taking my father in law to his first MLB game to see the Angels and the White Sox, should be fun. Also going to Cafe Orleans, the rest we will just be winging it. With small children we don't like to much of a schedule.

Anaheim RV Park - July 17-21st

Surprise Road-trip (borrowing friend's Motorhome) and our destination happens to be the DLR :rolleyes1. We will take the kids to grandma's house while we go pick it up and load everything. The kids won't know anything is happening until we pull up in the RV to pick them up. Then we will see how far we can get before they figure out our destination!:rotfl2::rotfl::rotfl2:

We have thought about placing clues in the RV that might give them hints about where we are going. If anyone has any ideas, feel free to share!

I got the WOC dessert party for the 17th. I'm poor now because we have 5 people in our party but it seems worth it for the opportunity to spend less time waiting and getting to sit. The dessert and drinks are a bonus for me.

I got Blue Bayou dinner reservations, Plaza Inn Character breakfast, and Aladdins Paint the Night for later in our stay. The rest of the time we probably will do quick service meals.

I also reserved the most expensive package at the Bibbidi Bobbidi boutique for my 7 yo daughter. She'll love it.
