July 2012 Who's Going Thread

We moved our family trip from April to July this year so we can see all if the new fun stuff! :thumbsup2
Tentative dates are July 6 - July 13 at the HoJo.:goodvibes

We're going too! July 25-August 1 at GCH. We're DVC owners and fairly well-seasoned WDW travelers, but this is the first trip to DL! :cool1: (Well, I was there for one day about 25 years ago but that hardly counts.) We're very excited!

Okay! Definitely going in July, barring a job offer that I can't refuse. I am so excited, I just can't wait. We're driving in two cars, my sister will be driving the big SUV with the majority of the people, my car will be just me and two others. The following people will be going:

Sister: 40ish, single, mom of
Nephew: 10
Nephew: 19
Nephew's girlfriend: 19
Mom: 66
Dad: 67
Niece (other sister's kid): 20
Niece's Fiance: 25
Me: 36
(maybe) Friend: 25ish
(maybe) Friend's girlfriend: 25ish

We'll be staying at the Anaheim Carriage Inn, most of them in a family suite, I booked a separate room Friday, friend and friend's gf will likely split the room with me.

Leaving N. Cal on 30 June, will spend that day settling in and at DTD. 1st park day will be 1 July, last park day will be 5 July, driving back north on 6 July.

Planning dinner at Blue Bayou on the 1st and Goofy's Kitchen on the 2nd. All other meals will probably be separate, we won't all be hanging out together. I will be doing the Walk in Walt's Footsteps tour at some point that week, and my friend and I will attend the flag lowering ceremony on the 4th as we are both recent Afghan vets. The rest of my time will be spent strolling leisurely down Main Street, enjoying whatever food strikes me, and riding whatever I feel like whenever I feel like it. I will visit Carsland at least once, but I'm not as big of a Cars fan as I am of other stuff at Disney, so I won't be there long. Maybe long enough to do the rides and eat something in a cone.

We are there June 30-July 6th. We know it will be crowded, but we also have a gymnastics event in the area. Staying at VGC, one nana, one mom, three kids (7,7 and 6).

Last of June and the first few days of July.
I've seen they have done 4th of July fireworks as early as July 1st. Will the crowds be crazy for those like they are on July 4th? Are they as good as Magical or RDCT?

So DD turns nine on our first full DLR day and being the WDW veteran that she is, she asked to eat with the princesses. :wizard:

We decided to do lunch at Ariel's Grotto. Then I saw the menu. :sad2: There's nothing on there my finicky eaters would order (I showed the kids the options and asked which they would choose and they both said "none") so DH suggested we do breakfast.

I hated this idea. We are (by and large) cereal eaters and I...

a) didn't want to spend the money on breakfast
b) didn't want to lose precious park time that early in the day

So, I tried to get out of it! I knew I'd have to offer up something good though and she's already done BBB so I didn't want to go that route again. I did a bit of research and then...I had it!

I offered her a birthday bucket at a different restaurant for lunch, suggested she let me buy her a new autograph book and we do the character meet and greets over the three days we're in the parks. I also sweetened the deal by reminding her that we could afford to do a TS lunch in the park AND hit the Rainforest Cafe for dinner for the same money.

She went for it!! :yay: Actually I had her at birthday bucket! :lmao:

Now we just need to ensure we get our ADR's (or whatever the Disneyland equivilant is called) and we're all set! :thumbsup2

So we're going to save quite a bit of cash but still have tons of fun.

We are going July 3rd for a week. It will be hot. It will be busy. But it's my daughter's birthday on the 4th so will be super special to her. Also we have always gone in Spring or Fall, when it's not hot. We want to try going when it's super hot and we can enjoy the pools at our hotel (GC or DL) and the water rides (Splash and Grizzly).

So I'm not the only crazy person going at this crazy busy time then?! :confused3 :rotfl:

I just booked our 7 night stay at the DLH, checking in on July 14 out on the 21st. We have never been during the summer, so I'm a little nervous about the crowds and the heat...but I booked an extra night and we are getting AP's, so hopefully that will relieve some of the stress of it being crowded and we can just go at a relaxed pace. It's a graduation trip for my oldest DD, we were going to go the 2nd week of June, right after she graduated, then I found out that was the week Carsland was opening and I don't think I want to be there for that crowd. :sad2: So, now it's not only a graduation trip for her, but a birthday trip for me too! :thumbsup2 My b-day is the 17th (anniversary of DL opening) and I've NEVER been on my birthday so I'm super excited. :woohoo: We also haven't stayed as a family in the DLH since 2003, my youngest DD has never stayed there. So I'm really excited about that too! :yay:

Forgot...
It will be myself, DH and our 3DD's age's 18, 12 and 7.
Going July 14-21
Staying at DLH :thumbsup2

Officially booked today. July 3rd - 10th. Woohoo! Booked at DLH but may switch to GCH. Still can't decide!

yay back again July 15-23 @ park vue inn. our (going on 3) grandson's first visit, he is so excited to go see Mater.... :goodvibes we were lucky enough to take our 2oldest grand daughters in December so going back again so soon with our grandson (and his mom) is very exciting!

It looks like DH and I will be visiting Disneyland July 8-10, staying at Park Vue Inn. We're stopping to see old friends in San Diego and then heading up to Anaheim. Been to WDW several times, but really need to learn about DL in the next few months! :yay:

There are no restrictions on food, as long as it is solid. :thumbsup2

I think we're going July 22-26. Haven't booked anything yet...leaning towards Ramada. Do you guys think that they will have the same discount they are having now for July? It's the 25% off (for April-June 7th). That's a really great deal!!!

Those are my dates too! I really doubt there will be that kind of discount after June 15th. I bet that is to help fill the rooms before the big DCA re-opening. But I don't know anything about that hotel. I'm just guessing based on the dates of the sale you gave.
