We are celebrating my DD's 13th birthday. She's a teen!!!

Well, I think at this point we are just celebrating being able to go at all! Original plans were to celebrate my bday, but that was when we were going during my bday week in June. Otherwise, no celebrations for us.

Disney tomorrow, the day is finally here.

I just wanted to update my info on the resort list. We have changed our dates a little bit (it's a surprise to everyone but me)! We are now at the AOA from July 21-23 and then the POR Royal Room from the 23-30.

Starting to pack today and am super excited!

I am going to try and do it on vacation, but if I miss doing it, anyone that wants to jump in while I am gone, is more than welcome to do it.

I just finished reading your dining reviews... Nice. I loved the photos and I have some ideas of things I would like to try. We plan to eat at the flying fish and both entrees looked wonderful. Thank you for doing such a great dining review!

July 15th Magic Kingdom


DD and I woke up at 6 AM. Walked to the bus stop and the MK bus was already there. Arrived at 8:15 AM at MK gate and watched the welcoming show. Went to Space Mountain and the ride was broke down, got a fast pass for 10:00 AM, walked over to Thunder Mountain and rode it twice. Rode Space Mountain once and then got on the train for Tomorrow land. Tomorrow land is really nice and when they finish with the construction, it will be a site to see. Walked over to Space Mountain and got a fast pass for 3 PM. Our fast pass was expired at 11:20 AM and it was 11:45 AM and they still let us use it. Must have been because the ride was broke and the CM's was not enforcing the fast pass times. We were very hungry, our reservation for the Plaza was not until 12:20PM but were walked over to the Plaza and asked if we could get in, it was 12:00 noon. We were seated immediately and order DD and Turkey and Bacon Club, Coke and I ordered my regular, Potato Soup, Ruben and Iced Tea. WOW!! the food and service exceeded our expectation. After our meal the CM's came over to sing Happy Birthday and gave me a cupcake with a candle on it. We were sitting next to a family of 4 and decided to give out 3 PM Space Mountain fast passes to the 2 teenager girl's of the family. The family said thanks and wished us a good day.


We decided to go back to the Resort to rest so we will be able to keep up during MK's Magic Hours tonight. Walked over to the bus stop and waited a couple of minutes for the bus. Returned to the Resort at 2:15 PM, walked in to see our room cleaned and Birthday card on the table. DD and I fell asleep around 3:15 PM and now it is 5:30 PM. We'll probably go back around 9:30 PM.

Well we told the kids. They did the scavenger hunt. They ran around and found the clues, but the last clue about flying in the morning confused them. . Not sure why. They finally figured out we were going to Disney and they are more than excited. My son can't stop talking about all the fun things they are going to do. He picked the last dining reservation (wanted to make them feel included in part of the planning) so he picked Coral Reef. Have to go back and cancel Teppan Edo now. He also picked the first water park which he wants to be Typhoon Lagoon. I am glad they are excited. My DD who is four just wanted to hold the clues and wheel around her new Mickey suitcase. She really didn't care about anything else. Well 4:30 is going to come really early so I am going to go and finish the last minute packing.

WOW!!! Your story was really cute. I had been waiting to hear about the outcome. Glad to hear the kids can be a part of your excitement now. Awesome! I have been dyiing waiting to hear the outcome of the scavenger hunt surprising your kiddos! Thank you for sharing with all of us as well. Sounds like you all will have a fantastic trip. Hope you are able to sleep tonight! I never am able to sleep well the night before our trips to Disney as way too excited to get there!

I hope I can sleep too. The kids are super excited and with no nap for DD today she was in meltdown mode at bedtime. She didn't want to go to Disney in the dark and is confused about getting up early. Hope tomorrow goes well.

So glad the kids are so excited!!! Probably not much sleep happening at your house tonight!

And IMHO, Coral Reef is a much better option than Teppan Edo. Don't get me wrong, TEdo is a great place, but just too similar to what we can get around here (but more money and less food). We love the food at Coral Reef, and of course watching all the fish!

Got on the POFQ bus immediately and got back to the Resort in 15 minutes. Great day for DD and I.

First....HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!

And, we too were in MK last night and the crowds were extremely low!! We only waited 20 mins for SM and BTMRR, walked right onto HM and Pirates...this was before and after fireworks! We were kind of dumbfounded with the crowd levels...and...we were CHILLY!!! I do not mean this lightly! We are from up north and KNOW cold, but the temps were not what we were expecting....it is actually hotter in NH than it was all day yesterday!

We had a great Day 1 though!

OK, I'm a day late...didn't go on the DIS yesterday.

Yes, we are celebrating! DS5 just had his graduation from Pre-K (not a big deal to some, but we think it is!), and my niece (11 years old) just graduated from elementary school. I put the celebration in for DS5 at Kona lunch the day we arrive, and for both him and my niece at Garden Grill dinner the day she arrives, and at 1900 Park Fare dinner on our last night.
