I have learned not to pack workout clothing as I don't use it on vacation. I think all the walking around the parks counts.

Oh you are so me!! I used to trail my workout gear round the world and have NEVER used it! Well except my trips to visit one of my best friends who lives near Seattle - she is a totally obsessed fitness instructor (she WINS her 10k races/half marathons/triathalons and stuff) and I am dragged to the gym when I go there, it's always fun though and I always get humilated infront of her classes as her old friend from Scotland! LOL

Haven't read everyone's updates yet but 12 sleeps (and I'm just heading for bed so nearly 11!!! ) and 2 1/2 working days!! Whoop, whoop!!

Sooooooooooo looking forward to getting away. I threw a big strop about hubby's work after this weekend - we so need to get away from his stupid shifts and the fact that he never gets finished on time!! Grrr!! I don't know how you Military wives/girlfriends do it! I can't cope with having him working 3 weekends in 5! I am useless! We are really needing some family time, just the 3 of us, can't wait!!!

Hrm, do you know why I would be charged a fine? I have already paid in full and the resort I'm looking at is just a bit more than what we have paid, I assume we would pay the difference.
Do you think we would get charged a fine for changing at the last minute or something?

All I know is an email I got from my TA asking me if I had any changes I wanted to make to our resort or anything like that because we were in the 30 day window and after that, charges would be applied You could always call Disney and ask them if you would incru any charges for changing resorts though.

The mail people were NOT friendly with me today...junk mail flier and a bill for ON. I called my TA and left a VM but she still hasn't called me back yet (I called her at about 1pm and it's now 6pm). Getting really annoyed on this one...I really feel like I'm going to end up calling Disney to see what can be done.

Okay, I can now officially go to Disney with no worries. My school called me today to let me know that there is an opening in the Middle School Math Department if I wanted it. Okay, Middle School can be iffy for me at times (I prefer HS), but I know I can handle it. Soooooo... I am now officially not laid off! (not that it looks any different because I am on summer vacation anyway!)....

I am sooooo happy!!


P.S. Can we not have any more scares like this? My heart can't handle it.

My dh has a job like that. At least he's finally got a job where he works Monday through Friday even though the hours are kind of funky LOL It only took him about 18 years on the job to get a 'day' job!


So, we had the big reveal. And she was surprised, kind of. I made a puzzle with 12 pieces, put each in a paper packet and then stapled the clue to where the next would be found to the back. I numbered each one and made her find them in order Then, when we went in and she opened the first one, she immediately said "We are going to Disney?" and started jumping around. Even though she suspected, she didn't really know.

She had so much fun finding the clues, dh and I are going to play that game with her for other things. I don't want her to think that every time we do it, it's going to end in a trip to WDW

I did take a few pictures, but honestly am really behind in loading pics onto my computer, so they may not be on here until right before I go on vacation (when I will dump all my pictures onto my computer to empty my memory card).

Another funny item: After the whole shoe thing, I'm walking into my upstairs hallway and there it is (seriously!) I look down and there is one of dd's red Alice crocs. It was ONE red croc. I was

That is great that it went well even if she figured it out after the first clue. Next time you do it, she may be disappointed that it isn't WDW! May need to put on the first clue that it isn't so she knows.

Today we worked quite a bit cleaning up things. We got all of the doggie's bedding washed/ready, cleaned the coolers and crates (to store snacks/breakfast items in) and cleaned some around the house.

Tomorrow/Thursday/Friday are also busy busy days, but it is really looking like we get to leave for WDW on Saturday instead of Sunday...woo!

I think there is a fee if the price goes down. If it goes up you just pay the difference.

I told her next time we do a puzzle/treasure hunt it may just be for going to IHOP. That's her fav. place. DH and I don't really like it, so we hardly ever go there.

Thanks everyone! It was fun. This is the third time we haven't told her and included her in the plans. Each time it gets harder not to tell her. We do it because it's easier than having her ask for months when we're going and because she's so excited when we do surprise her. It isn't getting old to her yet, so we'll probably try to keep figuring out ways to do it. We don't have plans to go until at least Oct. 2012, so I'll have a while to think about it

Anyone heard anything about crowd levels or temps lately?

The heat is not so bad when the clouds are in full force. Today, it was really nice in the morning until the sun came out. Then it was pretty hot. It rained around one at MK and then it rained from about 4 PM until 7ish.

I don't think the crowd levels at MK have been terrible. We were at Epcot on Saturday until the rain storm and it seemed a little busier than I remembered it being last year. Haven't been to the other two parks yet.

I did the Keys to the Kingdom tour today. It was pretty interesting and we got to ride The Jungle Cruise, POTC, and The Haunted Mansion, we saw the backstage areas for the parades and Move It, Shake It, Celebrate It. I saw some other things too that are too magical to talk about.

The Hilton Bonnet Creek is really nice but I'm ready and excited to move to the Beach Club tomorrow. BTW, I learned today that, if you valet at one deluxe resort, you don't have to pay if you go valet at another deluxe.

I did talk to them and there may be a $15 fee due to changing of paperwork and such. Though, it might be possible. I suppose I will dive into this further if it turns out that I can upgrade us

Evening EMH is the best! - especially at MK. Some of the rides are walk ons, and the heat is a lot more tolerable. We did not find the other parks to be as beneficial so we usually plan for the MK EMHs and punt on the rest.....

That is good to know about valet. I would love to do the KTTK tour one of these trips!

I'm going to air my dirty laundry here. I was running 3-5 miles three times a week and sticking to a strict 1200 calorie diet when we went. I tried to make the healthiest chioces available, sometimes, but we were on the DxDP. I took my running clothes with every intention of running, but, honestly, it was sooo hot, I just couldn't do it, even at 5am. I don't do treadmills. Honestly, I gained 12 pounds! It was awful! So, if you can fit in something to get your heart rate up, you'll be better off. I tried to justify my walking, and yes, you are moving, but in order to burn calories it has to be faster than park navigating!

Yes, we do. We are leaving Thurs. around 7pm or so. We'll have to do some gas stops, but that's it. We have one bag with clothes to put on the girls when we get there, and that night, and then the next morning before we check out and head to BLT. And toiletries, and swim clothes, and...... It gets complicated!!! I am excited, but nervous about forgetting something. We decided that if it's the happiest place on Earth, why do we have to take everything with us from here?????

The Dis Meet is at 4pm in the gardens in England. I have actually read more positive than negative reviews on Via Napoli. My motto with Disney dining is to try anything once regardless of reviews. There is always such a range of opinions. I like the looks of the menu and the atmosphere too. I will let you know if we change our ressie - we can have a mini meet if you miss the other one - lol!

Sounds good! haha. If anything else, DH and I will be in epoch before we eat, maybe we'll swing by the english gardens on the way to Italy. Surely some people would still be around. Carrie- good to hear! I'm not overly worried, I'm not Italian, so I'm not worried too much about authenticity... (Although, it's on my bucket list, per se, to try sometime) but I do want a good eating place. There's a place or two in my town that is just bland as can be to me, and I don't get how so many people love it.
