July 2011:Calling all planners-Post your dates & Resort

A totally last moment decision to go to my Happy Place. Originally we scheduled May 11th to May 18th, then I said you know... and anyway now its up to May 22nd. We are staying our first night at Holiday Inn DTD then Marriott Grand Vista until Thursday. Doing this on a budget (so far no more than 40.00 a night per hotel room) but really hope that we can swing the last 3 days at a Value Resort. Holding out for a pin code! HAHA!:cool1:

I really want to book this, but I can't justify it. We have the QSDP and will have tons of desserts and snacks.

Has anyone ever done it before? Is the view of Wishes worth it?

We did it in January and loved it. If you are trying to justify the cost of it, then it might not be for you. :confused3 It is a lot of money for dessert, and like you said, you'll have dessert with every meal being on the dining plan. We don't eat a lot of sweets at home, trying to keep the weight off  so we like to splurge and eat on vacation. It is nice to sit and enjoy dessert, knowing you will have a great view of Wishes without people standing in front of you. Is the view better than anywhere else in the park, no, not really. Tinkerbell does fly right towards/over the party.

After reading the reviews, you can see, as usual, everyone has widely differing opinions and experiences!

It was $25.99 per adult, $13.99 per child. Hope that helps!

I just booked the Tomorrowland Terrace Wishes Dessert Party for July 12, 9:00 pm! I've been stalking the dining reservation system for a while now, waiting for July to be added. The kids will be so excited to go back to this again! I looked at the price for a few seconds while paying for it, silly me.

I'm SO GLAD you posted this! You just made my day!!! I had tried making reservations for the dessert party a few weeks ago, didn't realize it wasn't open yet, I just figured it was all booked up! Just booked ours for July 14th at 9:10 pm! We're staying offsite, so we have no DP, so this will be a nice treat! Unfortunately, the MSEP is at 9pm....so we'll just have to catch that the 1st day we're at MK!

Our dates our 7/9 - 7/16. We are going with the kids but this is our 20th anniversary trip. Our actual anniversary is June 15th, but I plan on getting the anniversary pins and the bride and groom ears.

See you there!! :hippie:

Thanks for this! I'd been waiting for it to open, forgot about it, saw your post, checked my notes... and we'll see you there! :woohoo: (It took a little arm twisting, but the DH caved) Seriously. Same date and everything. :)

Thanks for the links to the reviews. I'm off to check them out.

I was thinking about doing the wishes desert party but decided against it. I think that is something DH and I could do with eachother when it's a trip for just us 2 (if I can ever convince him of it) or something I will do with my DSis and DSMom next year. I think DSMom would LOVE to do this but I'm not sure how they would handle DSis's dairy allergy.

Next month my little girl is turning 10 and then it's going to blink past June and be July!!!!!:banana:

Hi all,

.

We are going 7/3 - 7/11... our 10th anniversary (reason for trip) isn't until July 21. I totally play on getting the pins. It's the same month, and after 10 (or 20 for you)... what is a couple weeks difference? :)

We're doing the same thing. Our DD will be 13 in June and this trip is her birthday present. Also DH turn's 37 while we're at Disney so we'll celebrate that as well.

:lmao: You must be real excited as you posted in the July thread instead of May:lmao:

:woohoo: I would love to do this too but like the others I don't think DH would go for it since we are paying alot for the DP

That's where we are staying this time. What are your dates? Ours are 7/9 - 7/16.

This will be our 1st time staying there, but with the refurbished rooms with queen size beds, we couldn't pass it up.

Sorry I missed you on the list but I just added you.:thumbsup2

AND if I missed anyone that should be on the list just let me know and I will fix it.

Haha, Soccermom. As a math teacher, I use that "here is 'x'" image every year! :) Sad thing is, I can see many students who would do that. :confused3

Happy Easter All!

I had my first disney nightmare of this trip the night before last.

I checked into our resort but it wasnt the WL :confused3 It seemed like it was on Main Street USA in the MK and although it was a nice room/resort, it didnt feel the same. I kept requesting to get a room back at the WL like I had requested and they kept telling me they didnt allow pack n play's in the room :confused3 but they would call over and ask anyway. In the mean time, I'm talking to DH who for some off the wall reason wears glasses (he doesnt IRL tho) and couldnt find his! It was a very weird dream to say the least. Anyone else having planning nightmares?

My mind hasn't gotten into planning mode yet... still have work nightmares! :scared1:

Hey OneBadApple I remember we were at Coronado springs at the same time last year and this year we'll be at POFQ 7/10 - 7/24 - I was trying to decide if everyone I saw was you last year - lol!

77 days - cannot wait!!!

mo x

Just made some tweaks to our ADRs. I wanted to be in MK on July 3rd so that we could see both special sets of July 4th Fireworks. We're having dinner at CRT at 6:40 PM on July 3rd and at the Garden Grill at 7:10 PM on July 4th. We didn't enjoy the food at Garden Grill last year but the chipmunks are my favorites so we're willing to suffer. I also was able to get a reservation on July 6th for the Dessert Party. :woohoo:
