July 2011:Calling all planners-Post your dates & Resort

:welcome: You came to the right place to start celebrating your trip. Isn't fun just knowing you are going to be there for 2 weeks:goodvibes

Dh is a :teacher: and I work PT so we are able to go for 14 days too.
We are also planning one day at IoA to see Harry Potter.

Thank you for the welcome!

We are so excited for the 2 weeks and we choose these 2 weeks in July because school was out for all of the kiddies.

When we last visited in April 2007 it was only for 1 week and we felt rushed trying to do everything at WDW. Now adding in at least 1 day at IoA we knew we needed more time.

Sounds like so much fun! Our group was 15 when we went in April 2007 but unfortunately my DH is not joining us this time and my grandmother has passed.

We are still trying to figure out what ADRs everyone wants to do and if we should seperate or go as a group.

All this planning to do and I just can't wait to do it!!

What we have decided to do is basically all start at the same park each day. We may not end up there or stick together. As a matter of fact, we are assuming we will split up once the morning is done.

Right now I have a list into my sister & brother for them to put their must do's, if we have time & things they can skip down for each member of the family and then we will combine that and see how many we all have the same. Get those done together and make use of the FP best we can...then once all that is done, probably split up.

We don't have most meals planned together because more than likely everyone is going to do counter service, etc... My family is the only one on the dining plan -- so we have several breakfasts planned that the others don't.

The only 2 big events that we planned for all of us is the Crystal Palace lunch on the first day since we won't be sick of each other by then. :rotfl: It will be our first full day of vacation and everyone will more than likely be in a fantastic mood.

Then we have the Illuminations dessert party because that is my nephew's birthday and he decided he wanted to do EPCOT on his birthday. I found out about doing private dessert parties and as soon as I showed them the options, it was sealed. We do like our sweets! :lmao:

Ohh the dessert party sounds AWESOME! I might ask you for a review on it to take my DSM and DSis to for our trip next year!

I'll let you know. It isn't cheap though unless you are doing a big group. It came to about $50/person more or less for the 15 of us to do it but that's because I sprung for adding high boy tables & some chairs (not sure there will be very many if any at all due to our location). If you took those away it would be a little less -- but not by a whole lot.

I know I'm really looking forward to it, so I hope it ends up worth it. I have never seen Illuminations though and I know that was a must for my sister, etc... so it will be nice to not have to fight the crowd for it....at least hopefully we don't have to fight the crowd to get to our location. Hmm....when do people start lining up? I just gave that a thought it might be difficult for everyone to get through the crowds to get to the roped off area...EEK!

I will be in Disney World from July 17 - 23 -- vacation starts the 16th but we are driving so it will take us extra day to get to FL.

I'm pretty excited this time as we have our big group having a Crystal Palace lunch and then we have a private Illuminations dessert party planned which I know everyone is really looking forward to. We have never done anything like that so I'm anxious to see if in the end it ends up worth the cost.

Sounds like fun. I didn't even know they did Illuminations dessert parties:goodvibes

I am going to have a LGMH on my park bag!! DH will be staying at home with the furry peeps so DD and I are creating a "Flat Daddy" to bring on the trip. I think I'll fashion a a "Flat Daddy" tshirt out of a LGMH too. Poor DH, if he only knew...

:lmao: We won't tell him.

I'm currently working on what I'm going to do with my Furbabies. To board 2 cats at the ONLY place that offers it here in town is close to 400 dollars:scared1: I have one friend here who will check in on them every other day if she's still in town (they might go home at some point in the summer). I would take them to my mom's house but she has 2 cats and add in my 2 cats and they would just drive her nuts. I have to figure something out, even if I board one and take one with me.

Luckily my mom is going to take our dog for us. :goodvibes

When we went in December (only for a few days) my mom came with us so we left him with my 93 yr old Grandmother and that didn't work out too well. She hates dogs. Luckily we had other people coming by to check on him. I just didn't know where to bring him as no one else could take him for the weekend.

It is hard to find a place to leave pets. We take our dog to a kennel in the country....we call it camp! Well, "camp" costs us almost as much as our resort...lol:rotfl

Our first trip was 6 days, the second 10 days, the third back to 7 days.....too short! Since then our trips are at least 11 and up to 14 days. That extra time allows down time, and a leisurely pace. I love longer trips.

I can't believe it. I just booked us for July 13-20 at Pop with free QS dining. I am going to have my 40th Birthday at Disney World:yay::yay: I better figure out the rest of our trip soon. Can't wait:banana::banana:
Me:cloud9:, DH:confused3, DS(15):worship:and DD(10):cheer2:

Hello all my fellow July Planners!!!:)

I am compiling all of my information so I can possibly start a PTR to help me finalize plans and get organzied (clutter makes me nuts )

Just wondering if any of you have started a PTR for your July vacation yet.

Also once I start it, how do I link it in my signature? :surfweb:

As a DISboards newby I still have a lot to learn and am very eager to do so!!

TIA for any help you can offer:dance3:

I have a PTR going on the Passporter board (I honestly dont think I'm doing to good with it though it's more of a day to day update then an actual report).

So I'm sitting here slowly creeping up to our 100 days out mark and all I have left to do is the following:

1. Buy one more personalized Autograph book
2. Buy Gillian's Snow White pesant dress and then email the nice lady who makes all the dresses any and all measurements she needs (I only hope I can get Gillian to hold still long enough to be measured)
3. Pack our bags fully (right now it's a hap hazard packing job divided up between one large roller and 4 over head bin sized rollers)
4. Wait for our travel package and vouchers for DME to arrive (PLEASE let it be soon so I can oogle them for hours!)
5. Find a place to keep my kitties (A friend of mine gave me the name of the place she uses and she says it's MUCH cheaper then the place that charges 400 dollars and they interact with all the animals they keep)
6. Clean out my CAR!
See were driving to my mom's house in VA and then waiting for DH to arrive from Afghaniland (so he calls it). I REALLY dont want to drive my car down in the winter mess that's going on inside it right now (why on earth my children need to put toys in every single hiding spot in there is beyond me:confused3)

I dont think I've forgotten anything...except for having the post office hold our mail :rotfl::rotfl:

I have thought about doing a trip report, but I am so afraid it will be so boring and put people to sleep! I may start one, but probably not for a few more weeks. I am not sure how to link it either.

I know how you feel. Not sure if I would have anything interesting to write about.

But I do have alot of sewing to get done. I went to Kohl's yesterday and bought DH & I a bunch of plain tshirts that I want to embroider to match the outfits for the kids. Only in Disney can I get all of us to be matchy matchy:rotfl2:

I actually started a pre-trip report and I don't think a single person has read it....so I haven't really updated it.

Linking in your signature is pretty easy though. You just copy the URL from the post and then I think you just cick the little blue circle link icon.

I have my trip report from 2005 linked...mostly so I can find it again or anyone can read it if I talk about my previous trip I guess. I suppose I could link my pre-trip report but I'd have to find it again...it's buried.

I had to go add my pre-trip report to my signature just because! LOL! You just type what you want as the description, highlight it and then click the "link" button (the blue circle) and paste the URL. Hopefully that makes sense for those of you that want to do it.

I can't believe some of you are packing already! I'm not even CLOSE...actually I'm in a bit of a funk of "done everything I can do & too early to start doing anything else" mode at the moment.

Hi :goodvibes
We are staying from the 28th June - 12th July at POFQ.
This will be our first stay on site and the second visit just being my DBF and me
So exited even though it's ages away popcorn::
At least we can count down together... :wizard:

OH, we will be at POFQ during that time!! (July 3 - 11) :yay:

HEY Becky2005: I commented on your PTR! And then I went back and read it! It's great! :thumbsup2 Have fun at the cabins! I've always wanted to stay there!

I do lists too....but not yet. This is that difficult time where there isn't too much to do yet....reading the Disboards helps though:goodvibes

You are lucky you can do the matching clothes, can't get my family to do it.

Yeah, I had the same thought in regards to myself. I felt a Trip Report would be more exciting. So, I'll wait until then. :)
