July 2010 Big Bdays Family Reunion (Update 9/28 Final Thoughts)

Over Memorial W/e, I talked to my dad about watching the girls one night while we are in disney. They agreed. Of course they picked the one night that we had other plans so we just changed our previous plans a bit.

Then I went on-line to see what restaurants, if any, would be available only 30+ some days in advance. Surprisingly, there were still many options.

Hmmm, wonder if this July won't be crowded ...

Anyway, based on one of my fellow Disser's trip reports, I picked Todd English's Bluezoo restaurant at the Dolphin. I got a 7:30pm ressie. Then I saw on the Budget board that restaurant.com is doing 80% off and they just added bluezoo!! Woo Hoo!!

So I can get a $25 gc to bluezoo for only $2!!!!

$25 for $2- fantastic!!! I heard a review on a podcast- it sounds like a cool place to eat.

Cool! It's definitely not someplace I'd want to go with the kids but date night sounds wonderful. The pics of the food and the dining area look very upscale.

Holy moly that's an amazing deal!! Is there a limit to how many you can buy?

I hope you go! I remember reading a review (maybe on allears) about Bluezoo, and it sounded great.

You can purchase as many as you want, I understand, but you can only use one certificate per restaurant per month.

You might want to check out when they have their next 80% off sale for restaurants in your area.

We just used our 1st restaurant dot com certificate at a local place last night and it was wonderful. We got to try out a new place we never been to before and we will definitely go back again.

I have NEVER seen any restaurants in my area on restaurants.com

I just didn't think they had anything Southern :confused3

bummer! But next time you go to WDW, you can check them out for Orlando area.

Wow, Marsha - what a deal for bluezoo!! We ate there our first night on the last trip and loved the food. Our service wasn't outstanding, and be sure you take something for the kids to do to keep them occupied. They didn't have much to entertain kiddos.

Again, we LOVED the food and the ambiance!!

Two words -- DATE NIGHT :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

From everything I read and heard (and confirmed by your meal) and from pics of the dining room, this is a great restaurant for adults (!). I wouldn't want to bring my girls here.

Getting so close now!!

3 weeks to go :woohoo:

Thanks to a very kind Fairy Godmother, Mickey Mouse and Minnie sent both of my girls a postcard telling them they can't wait to celebrate Rachel's 5th birthday and Elizabeth's walking!

The girls must have been so excited for the post cards!!

Okay, two weeks away- what are you doing to prepare (In other words, what should I be doing??) We have 16 days until departure!

Start packing!:rotfl2: If you can't start packing yet, then make sure you have your packing list ready. Finalize your itinerary and write down all the important data (mine is a word doc about 16-20 pages long, one for each day and then other miscellaneous info).

Final shopping and toys to entertain kids along the way.

I went and bought 3 Frogg Togg chilly pads since they were recommended on the July thread. I hope they work.

Make your LGMH (lime green mickey heads) if you plan to.

Packing list is an ongoing list in my planner. I'd have to repack, so I will just wait. (not so patiently)

Finalize your itinerary and write down all the important data (mine is a word doc about 16-20 pages long, one for each day and then other miscellaneous info).

This is totally stressing me out. I learned so many cool things over the year, but I don't think I will locate all of it. I think I have some word docs and some notes. I will get busy on this one! I also have only made it to day 6 of planning. :rotfl:

Final shopping and toys to entertain kids along the way.

I have to wrap. Instead of having all of the surprises with me to pass back, I am going to put them in a container and let them open one every couple of hours.

Make your LGMH (lime green mickey heads) if you plan to.

Okay - help. What should I be doing with them?:confused3 I want them of course!! :rotfl2:

Thanks so much!! Debby

Marsha...the girls look so cute...and getting so big from last fall's TR....time flies huh ;)

oh and for the last poster...

LGMH....either go to your local homedepot or you can find some plain one's from the DISigns threads...write your Diser name on it. Laminate it or cover in clear contact paper...cut out, punch a hole add a cool ribbon and attach to your park bag...hopefully someone will say hi to you then at the parks :thumbsup2
