Okay I called yesterday and didn't get a chance to post. I asked if AP's were out past June 2nd and replied politely "no, but would you like to go ahead and book? You can adjust your rate when they come out." I replied "no, I would wait" The CM then replied "Oh the rooms are booking up really fast like they never have before." I said "Thats okay I will wait."
Now this is the 2nd conversation I have had with a CM in a week like this. I have been on Disney.com every day checking availibility for the deluxes and I have yet to find a deluxe that is not available for my dates and have every view catagory. So I don't see that their booking up that fast. Last summer by this point the Poly had like one view catagory left for our dates.
I agree with SnowWitch. We are booked June 28-July 12 and I keep checking and the only deluxe resort that is booked solid is CR for those dates. Not only are all the others open, but almost every view is available also. Maybe some good deluxe AP rates for June/July? Lets hope so!
Swan and Dolphin are sold out for my dates, but everything else is wide open..but I will say, the standard view and woods at WL keeps showing as unavailable one day, then available the next
I just checked our dates for June......
and there was only one resort that had limited avail..... nothing popped up for "Standard" at CSR. But they had King. And they usually have a sports convention at this time.
All deluxes had availability! So, if Disney is waiting to see if they fill up.......... they are running out of time. I certainly don't see them "filling up fast" like the CRO would have us believe.
Should I buy an AP ticket to get a special rate if it comes out or can I wait to hear the offer and THEN buy the AP? Would I be able to get the rate without already having the AP in my hand?

You can wait. In June 2005 I had booked all my rooms with a AAA discount (split-stay). When the AP discount was announced, I called and got the AP discount applied to my rooms. I then purchased the AP off the same CM in the same call. I'm doing the same thing for our trip this year.

You can book any rate you want over the phone. You don't need 'proof', such as your AP or AAA card until you check into the resort. They will even give you time to get your AP that day if you hadn't gone to the park yet.
Sometimes they do ask for you AAA number over the phone.. I would guess you can say you will be joining before the trip. I did it through a AAA TA last year and she booked it without a number because I wasn't a member yet. I joined the week before I left for vacation. If I had joined when she booked it, my membership would have expired too early. I wanted to use it again this year in case APs didn't come out (we are going a month earlier this year).
This isn't true where the airline employee discount is concerned ! We have to fax proof of employment within 48 hrs or they charge us rack rate
I am glad that I am not the only one who noticed the CMs being pushy about going ahead and booking in June. I am still calling them several times a week to see if I can get the resort I really want, (limited availbilty with my discount at the present time). I am hoping when they open up discounts for AP and fl res they will also open up some for other discounts(hoping hoping hoping)
I am going 7/13-7/29 and have been waiting for SOG to sell out so I could inquire about the overflow rates. All 4 Value properties are not offering the overflow/military rate during that time. The moderates are at 140, but the values are at full rack rate at $109.00 I even called today inquiring about AAA rates, but there were none available. The last two summers I have had no problem getting an overflow rate of $79.00 per night for POP.
Oh well, at least I have my $109 rate and I'm going to WDW! Things could be worse!
I tried the Passholder site looking for a Deluxe May 26- June 2 and only get what appears to be standard rates ($325 Poly, $315 Yc/BC) Are there any deluxe dsicounts available? (or those discounted?) Am I looking in the wrong place?

I'm seriously going nuts! My June trip is a sort of "bonus" trip this year, since I already have one planned for October. A lot of if I'll actually do it or not rides on AP rates! (Because if I do do it, it has to be super, super cheap!)
