We're trying to decide on dates for next year's trip and I would love to be there for the 4th which we know is always pretty busy. From what I've read here it usually slows down after the holiday weekend but next year the 4th is on a Sunday. Anyone venture a guess as to how this will affect crowds the week before and the week after? Which do you think will be busiest? TIA.:)

I'm guessing that the 3rd-11th will be the busiest. I'll be there amongst the crowds on the 14th.:D

That's kind of what I was thinking too - that most people will travel down the Friday or Saturday before the 4th and then stay the week after. That's what we had in mind. Anyone else have other thoughts on this?

Since the 4th is a Sunday, then most people have Monday off. So I'd guess the week after would be busiest as people will have to take only 4 days off vs. 5 days for a week's vacation.
