July 2, 2005 - WE ARE THERE!!!

Not enough vacation time (or $$) to do DL at cruise time, so we'll put it off until November (the beauty of living within driving distance). :cool1:
We'll walk around downtown disney and do dinner there on Friday night, but that's as close as we'll get this trip. Have fun everyone! :Pinkbounc

mokehil,

I was thinking about getting the same cooler from costco, but was wondering if we are allowed to use it to carrry on all the booze I'm planning on bringing. For some reason I thought I read something about NO coolers? Or do we hve to fold it and pack it? Wondering if anyone knows anything about this?

Emily

Emily,
I am bringing it on and don't think I will have a problem. I agree with you, there is conflicting information, but I think cooler being refering to the HARD-sided types. If I have to fold it up and hold the alcohol in my arms, that's what I'll have to do! That will make a GREAT walk aboard picture. Sober, desheved, and dragging four kids....."Boy does that lady need a vacation!!!"

I have to get DH and DS out the door tomorrow for their Guy Fishing Trip at Mammoth, and then I will start seriously packing.

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone, too.

Is anybody going to Disneyland after the cruise? How about ComicCon? DD and I will be going to that the Friday after the cruise.

Has anyone checked out the picture of the day thread? I can hardly wait to be able to add a picture of my own!

I'll be posting until early Saturday morning! We plan to leave here at 9. :cheer2:

At the rate we are going we will be packing on Friday. We will also be posting to early Saturday morning, too. Wonder who will be the last to post.

We should be flying into LAX about the time that you are planning on leaving. Do not know how far your travel is, but could possibly arrive at the port at about the same time.

To help bump you....

Fran and Dave's flight looks like it left about 1 hour late..I think the storms were bad here in Florida... :confused3

Here are the TWO NEW CABO excursions.... but you have to CALL disney to book them, they are not up on the website yet....

PREMIERE BEACH ESCAPE $62 :cloud9:

POWER BOAT / SNORKEL $65/$52 (ages 8 and up) :flower:

For more info, call DCL reservations... I am booked on the Premiere Beach escape.... :-)
:cool1:

Ron...we are sailing on the cruise after you...July 9th!!! I would be very interested in hearing about the Premiere Beach Escape. Does it go to a resort? If so, which one? Is lunch included? What else do you know about it? I tried to call DCL today, but by the time I read your post, it was 5 minutes after closing time! I'll call tomorrow, but if you know anything about the excursion, I'd love to hear it! Thanks!! :flower:

I just made my last cruise through the last few pages of postings to catch all the changes from my weekend list so I can do the name tags. I will have name tags for the Saturday meet as well as different ones for those that will be at the 4th of July party on Monday.

Angie, What time are you leaving Sat morning? Aren't you coming from Illinois? That must be a several hour flight at least... what time do you arrive in LA?

I think we will head to the airport about 6am Saturday morning. It is only an hour or so flight for us.

I have had a hectic week at work trying to get things done before vacation. Yesterday I worked 12 hours and then brought work home and stayed up til midnight to get stuff done for a meeting today. Then today was another 12 hour day. Wed and Thurs will probably be the same. No wonder I need a vacation..... yeah!!!

I am sure the last remaining families can keep the board alive.

We aren't doing Disneyland this trip either. Seems that once you visit in the off season without all the long lines, you get spoiled. Hopefully we can do an extended weekend before Christmas though.

More Later,
Vickie ::MickeyMo

Vickie, 12 hours and then name tags to boot - sounds like a busy day.. Thanks for the effort :sunny:

We will also be at DL for 3 days after the cruise. :earsboy:

Packing is almost complete, and work is busy - boss is gone and I am in charge - :rotfl: no wonder no one is getting anything done... Well, be sipping a cool one on the Magic in no time now, now need to wrorry ;)

Have a great WED - will continue to post until FRI, so won't be last.

Jim

I think Amy may be starting the margarita party early without everyone...... :smooth:
hahaha.....just kidding......and hoping everyones ok.
Jill
your OC neighbor

I haven't started packing either! I've made some mental notes - lots of little notes on scraps of paper :goodvibes . About 1/2 hour ago I did actually carry a suitcase downstairs.

I think I have all the shopping done - and all the returning done :)

We leave Friday - probably mid-morning. Maybe later if I keep procrastinating like I have been. Most likely I won't post after Thursday sometime.

Does anyone know off hand the colors for the gift bags/ribbons (adults, kids etc)? I remember something about green red and white.

About the coolers, what I had read is what Mokehil had read - the hard sided ones aren't allowed. I'm still trying to decide what to have DH cart around ;)

Disney Dreams everyone!
Sherry

Hi All,

In response to the above, the ribbon colors for the gift bags are as follows: Green = Adults, Red = Kids, White = Either.

I have also not officially started packing, but have done a fair amount of piling. :rotfl: Also, I did manage to get most of my necessary laundry done but still can't find a top and skirt that I really "need".

Finished all the sewing on the two pirate costumes I made for the two little girls traveling with the group (Serena and Elizabeth, both 10). I sure hope the costumes fit as I have never clapped eyes on one of the children and the other is away until Thursday. :confused3

Tomorrow I am planning to get everything found and packed, get the DH to get his hair cut, go to the tanning salon and get a spray-on tan (so I don't glow in the dark), make the door signs for my group, and generally finish the myriad of small tasks that always wait till the last minute to creep up on you. I am shooting for Friday to make and package the chocolate truffles.

Wish me luck! :wizard:

Take care all & I will see you all on the Magic!

Tisza

Vickie,
We fly out of Chicago at 6:40a.m. and should be at LAX at 8:40a.m. It is a four hour flight for us, but with the time change we will gain two hours. It is a three hour drive to the airport so Sat. will be a very long day for us. When you see me just remember those red eyes are from lack of sleep, not from starting the party without you. :rotfl:
I will be able to keep the posts going until late Friday, but then will try to get a couple hours of sleep before we leave.

Tisza,
Those chocolate truffles sound so yummy. It also sounds like a lot of work before vacation...I could really use one right now to help get my day going!!!

My ear is feeling some better today. Thank heavens the infection happened when it did, so I could get it all taken care of before flying...

I am going to go get started on that last pirate shirt, so I can check it off my list. I will check back latter.
Angie

Jim- We're also going to DL with AnnaS after the cruise. Where are you staying? We're at the Fairfield Inn across from DL.
Thank- you for all your hardwork on the list.
AnnaS is not able to post- computer problems-I'll be posting until Thursday night- we leave 6am Friday for the airport. Can't wait to meet everyone!

Vickie, thanks again for doing all the name tags.

Jim, thanks for the list. I'm going to try to make a res at the same motel your family is in at the Buttonwillow exit--I'm a little bit nervous about the "see what's available at midnight" plan I was originally going with. I think we'll try to be at IHOP between 8:30-9:00 for breakfast. We have a dark green Sienna van with a "Kings" license plate frame (love those Kings!). I'll put my Sorcerer Mickey antenna ball on, too, but there's always a chance it will be stolen before then. There will be four of us--me, DH, DS, and Wendy's (vanvmom) DS, who will be riding with us to keep us all company. We should all be in green, so hopefully, if it works out, we'll run into each other. If not, see you on the Magic.

All of you, thanks for the great ideas and friendship that you've already extended.

It's kind of weird, reading the posts--almost sad, in a way, as we lose one person after another, but of course, happy because the day is finally (almost) here. It's like an end, but it's really the beginning. I'm so thankful for this board because it has been making the whole experience much more than just a cruise.

Here's the latest tally:

Packing done: 0
Piles made: too many to count
Errands to run: things keep cropping up
Lists made: I don't know--they're all over the place!
Days of work left: 1 1/2 (lesson plans made: 0, zip, nada) :teacher:
Stress level: surprisingly calm. Things always seem to get done somehow.

We'll be leaving sometime Friday evening, so I'll do a last post just before we go. Azptcruiser wondered a few pages back, "who will be the last to post?" I was wondering the same thing. Try to post just before you leave, if you can, even if there won't be anyone left to read it.

:cool1: :cool1:

So Much work So little Time

There is so much to do at work before we leave but after work tomorrow it will be vacation time

Thank you to Vickie and Jim for all their work.

Not much packing to do Just need to finish the lime green shirts

I'm adding my thanks, too. I've enjoyed reading these posts. I don't know what I'll do when this is all over, except go back to work :earboy2:

Has anyone played the Virtual Magic Kingdom game online? My daughters signed up for it a couple of weeks ago. Kind of fun, plus they have scavenger hunts at Disneyland (to get free virtual stuff for your virtual rooms) that have been fun.

Vickie ::MickeyMo

Vickie, Naughty me. I just noticed that Madeline's name was spelled Maderine. Sorry, I it were me I would just take the pen and turn the r into an L. Of course, it I missed the deadline then I will make sure that she acts apporiately upon receipt of your gift of love!

Still working on the giftbags. Bags, bags, what can I use for a bag? Should I label them anyone or kid? I do need to mark them for "Girls" though. I am just positive that a boy would find them a big eyeroller, but the girls will swoon with delight.

Guess I really need to finish packing. Maybe I can delegate it to the girls. Remember the advice, pack and take out half? I know what they are saying, but I refuse to take out half!! Not sure which outfits I will want to wear....I do know I don't want to do laundry, except in an emergency, but expect to bring home clean clothes too!!

Getting nervous about not having warm clothes, most everything, except for a light sweater or two are shorts, skirts, capri's and zorries. I just keep thinking summer will arrive anyday now.

Next task....haircuts.

Because this is my first flight ever and praying NOTHING goes wrong. lol. Well get back to me I will be posting till about friday morning or thursday night. only about 1 day until the flight. My nerves are bouncing like this smiley-------> :Pinkbounc

Have a great time!

Legalbriefs,

I am also wondering about the new premeire beach escape in Cabo. Is this different than the one offered on the website? Which hotel?

Thanks for the inside info!
