July 2, 2005 - WE ARE THERE!!!

Darcy -

I just got home from my part-time job (home to my full-time, 24/7 job) and you now have me cracking up. :teeth:

Will definitely post when I bring luggage down from the attic - my dh has already asked me if he should bring them down - so we shall see how long I last.

Fran (tchrmom) has been waiting 4 years to get tile throughout the house. We finally buy it, have it delivered and because it is on 3 pallets she even is letting it take up her side of the garage so she has to park outside. Now she says to not start on the tile because she won't be able to lay out the 8 suitcases, actually 7, one is a hanging bag. I think she thinks the cruise will get here quicker if we lay the bags out :rotfl: We have DD birthday sleep over this weekend and then I am sure the bags are coming out.

Dave

First off, I have lived here my whole life and I don't remember it ever raining, besides maybe a drizzle in the AM, in July. Guess that means...MORE ROOM FOR SHOES!! Fantasmic won't be rained out. Now as for idiot people who spill sodas on the ground, after you've been sitting for an hour and a half waiting for Fantasmic, and act like they don't know whats going on when you give them the evil glare (as my DH can attest to I have down to a "t") as you wipe soda off of your bottom..that I can't guarantee!! :earseek:

Now, as for my DH and I getting drinks and leaving the kiddos "for a few minutes"...Really, I didn't already schedule a couples massage for our DIS meet time...Really, I didn't!! :rotfl2: :rotfl: Talk to you all later. Amy :flower:

I too get a real kick out of all of your posts. I can especially relate to tying a little one to the roof of a moving vehicle. (in home daycare for 15 years can do that to ya!)
Now for the luggage... I went to the storage room to check the luggage. Apparently one of our cats has used one of the suitcases for a bed. I couldn't tell if I was looking at luggage or a Mohair sweater!!!! Any ideas on how to clean suitcases. (this could be a job for supper dad!!)
I am all ready to watch the Magic go through the Panama Canal tomorrow. This computer which I could barely turn on in Feb. is becoming an addiction...
Angie

With all the talk about getting suitcases out of the attic I decided to go shopping and pick up some new things to pack. Guess what I found out? What fits on top is tight on the bottom and what fits on the bottom is too loose on top! So I'll have to decide which way I prefer to wear new clothes on the cruise before I start my next shopping adventure. I think I'll poll the family and see what they prefer!

XLT is right! As soon as the last little girl leaves on Sunday, those suitcases are coming out! :bounce:

Now the REAL challenge..........fitting 10 days worth of things, for 4 people, into suitcases that will pass the airline weight limit. (NOt to mention that can be carried by 2 adulta and 2 kids)

OK...........seems like it is time to begin "The DOC WATCH". :earseek:
(tchrmom walks to the door, and looks for Mr. UPS.) I KNOW what "Brown" can do for me!!!!!

Happy Friday to everyone!

OK, I have to amit it - We have started to seperate the cloths that are to be packed for the cruise. I quess this way my wife knows what she needs to buy...

Had trouble getting on these pages recently - it seems everyone is getting excited!! I have been enjoying reading about the Panama Canal Cruise. Soon we will all be having the fun they are having.

Sherry & Darcy, we signed up for a qty room - and they have assigned us a room (2133) and a dinner time of 8:30.

Cruzings, congrats on the recent reservations - we also were able to make reservations for all three events at Palo. :goodvibes

Jim,

I am still having some trouble with my computer so I am not sure if it was this website or my computer (it might be website since it's happened before when I had no problems with my computer). Lately I have not been able to reply or even get into threads. Web site not responding is what I get. Frustrating.

I can't believe how close it is. We have one humongous luggage and we might borrow another humongous luggage from in-laws (I hope they fit in cabin closet). We are five for 12 days. Hoping to bring those two big ones and three other ones to check in. I guess one carry-on each also. I hate/afraid flying. I'ts so silly - I worry about the extra weight of the luggage and wonder how on earth that plane will stay up :guilty:  .

Okay Darcy - you can laugh again. I know it's silly. ;)

We"ve always driven to Fla. and have packed the van full. Now that we're flying it 's definitely going to be a challenge packing. And on our first cruise I did bring a suitcase just for shoes and another bag for snorkeling equipment, and another suitcase for...We had a lot of luggage. My DH is thrilled we're limited in what we can take on the plane.

You guys are making me feel much better! I'm on the cruise after you and this past weekend, my DD's went through all the clothes we have bought over the past few months and figured out exactly what they are going to bring. I had to stop DD16 from getting a suitcase out! She was ready to put it all in a suitcase and leave it there until July! Glad to see we're not the only ones.

Oh, and yes we will have a suitcase for just shoes. Actually a rolling duffle bag.

Just flipped over to watch The Magic go through the locks on the canal website. TOO COOL!!!!

Makes me wish that we were there RIGHT NOW!!!!!!
OH well............we're not.

Only 3 and 1/2 days of school left for the kids!!!!! YYIIPPEE!!!!!!! I don't know who is more excited....the teachers or the kids. :confused3

Hey Fran, DS Shane hit "summer" at 9:20 a.m. (he had to go in for 2 hours) and DS Bryce's "summer" started at 10:40 a.m. (2 hours as well).

It's supposed to hit 110 tomorrow :sunny:

Jim and Darcy, we're still showing "gty".

As for packing....DH Alan just the other night told DS Shane something like "you know your mom will pack the whole house...." I told him I'd learned some valuable info here on the boards - like needing to take an extension cord/power strip if your hair dryer has a rectangular plug. If it does it won't fit in the plug at the vanity supposedly. I think(?) there is a hairdryer on the wall in the bathroom but I like my own. He was not impressed by that! He is just envious that I have hair. My youngest when he was around 3 or 4 told dad he had "U" hair. It is U shaped when you look down on it :earboy2: My oldest when he was around 5 or so was informing Alan about the day we had....about how we gave the dog a bath, lathered her up, etc.....Shane looks at Alan and says "you don't have to use much shampoo, do you dad!" :earboy2: Now that I've rambled on............I don't know when I'll start packing - I have mentally gone through what we have to wear though and gotten a few things. We're driving and have an SUVwith a luggage rack :flower:

Later,
Sherry

Hey, did you see that someone sailing June 25th received their docs?!? Could ours start coming in a week???? Come to think of it I'm not sure what port that poster is sailing out of.....would that matter on docs?

I'm crosseyed and giddy from reading all the "live" pages - it's like 40 pages or some such. I did email the link of the Magic going through the canal to the Pacific to hubby at work - just a little torture :goodvibes

Sherry

Sherry, you are killing me with the u-shape - I glad we are driving so we don't have to worry about "what to take on the plane" big ? Jim

Fran, reviewed the pictures of the Magic going through the locks today.

ONE WORD - FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!! :jumping1:

The excitement is surely building now. What a great site. :cool1:
