We are from Phoenix (basically) and will be driving over on the 1st. We were thinking of spending the night on the Queen Mary. DH and I did that last summer before a 4 night cruise while the boys were away at Camp. Since we've done it, I'm trying to decide if the boys would appreciate it:) I think I wrote down a few hotel names near to the pier too if I can find them.

There are 4 of us - the boys are 15 and 13 by cruise time.

Our 20th anniversary is the 4th! DH says it was the end of his independence :love2: I've made Palo reservations for that night. I'm hoping that's not AP night!

We did the 4nt cruise/land package in Nov of '99. We had a great time. In fact the boys really wanted to do this again, and so we are. They are looking forward to "freedom" this time. And, according to one of my friends, my youngest is looking forward to room service the most. Go figure! Although I've been on the Magic, I don't have a meeting place suggestion. The ones above sound good!

I've rambled enough for now.

the weight limit for Randi's horses? The DCL excursion booklet says the company use has a limit of 220. I was wondering if Randi's might be 250. Although, by now - those few spots she had available a week or so ago may already be filled.
Sherry

I've tried "searching" a few different ways but I can't find where I read this.....Somewhere in the bazillion posts I've read there was talk about the weight limit being 250 pounds. I'm sure I read a post saying something like if you were over that they put on an extra harness and you do 3 less zip lines (the longer ones). I think whoever said that you might have to reserve through the company that DCL uses. Does anyone know who that is or about this?
Thanks
Sherry

Oh my G*D!! You're making me hyperventilate and break out in a sweat just thinking about that. :scared1: If I was doing it there better not even be a question about weighing too much for a zip line. Thanks but I'll be sipping a pina colada next to a pool thinking about all of you zipping through the jungle. Have fun!! :drinking: Amy :flower:

Sherry, I have not read of any weight limit for Randi's. On the zip lines there is a 250 lb weight limit. As you may have read, several of us our doing both Randi's and canopytours-vallarta - 10;00 am slot. You may want to join us. Happy excursion hunting... Jim

The following is our compiled list of thread members who checked-in with their info at one time or another - please note the ages listed are the ages at the time of the cruise. If I've omitted anyone it's purely by mistake, not intention! I hope this may help keep us on track. Let me know if you have any suggestion of what info to add. I could also e-mail you a copy of the list if requested.

Welcome DareTooDream! I just booked the Palo Brunch for Sunday at 10:30 for 8 of us-myself, DH, and DS( who turns 20 July 1),AnnaS, DH and DS(19), and my parents. I,m really looking forward to it as I've never eaten at Palo's. We did attempt it on our first cruise but I was sesasick and we had to leave! Is anyone joining us for brunch?

Jim.....great list, thanks for taking the time to do that.

You know it is getting close when the dinner conversation turns to:

Do those pants fit?
Does she need new shoes?
How many outfits does she have?

I now see why tchrmom said last night that we should limit the number of shoes that DD can bring...........so there is room for her new black sandels :rotfl: :rotfl: .

I can afford the cruise.....it is the new wardrobes that gets expensive.

Let the last minute shopping begin!!!!

Dave

OK, XLT...............Let's set the record straight. We don't want all these people to think I'm some kind of " new clothes for every cruise" nut. Let me remind you that for the past 2 cruises, I didn't buy 1 new outfit!!!!! I am still wearing the bathing suits from our October 2003 cruise!!!!! :love2:

But yes, you can tell a cruise is close when every night the dinner conversation revolves around what needs to be bought for the cruise.
(mental note to tchrmom.......inventory sunscreen and Bonine)

Speaking of Palo......We booked dinner for Sunday night and Friday for the brunch. (XLT, do you know what is "special" about THAT day?)

Fran, I was going to say that you may be do for a new swimsuit after the "cruise nazi" and shoe remark!!! :rotfl2: Us "overplanners" have to stick together. I'll meet you in line to get on at 9:00 AM sharp!! LOL Now if I can just get someone to watch the kids so they don't drive me nuts waiting in line for 3 hours to get on board.. Do they serve drinks in line(I'm not talking kid drinks either)??! Maybe, on second thought, We'll get there a little later for our own sanity and the sanity of those around us. Amy :flower:

We sure have been busy. My modem was zapped during the last storm and I have been out of touch.

Welcome DareTooDream.

Jim, Thanks for the complied list. Our group looks so much larger listed that way.

Had a dream last night that I missed the DIS meet and was almost late to the lifeboat drill. The life jackets were all the wrong size.......

I picked up my lime green disney heads at home depot yesterday. I could not believe it. That was the only stack that was almost empty. I did get 8 though!

Darcy

Amy..........I agree! I NEED those new sandles! (ok, maybe need is a little strong!)

Actually..........I can't complain. We've taken a cruise 6/2002, 10/2003, 5/2004, 10/2004 and now this one........as well as the one I have booked for 10/2006. There is NO WAY that we can get new clothes everytime. The kids are the only ones who get the new clothes, only because they keep growing!!!!!!!

Hope everyone has a great Friday!

Fran
:teacher:
PS.....Amy, maybe you could just give your kids Benadryl the morning that we board! Just kidding! :rotfl2:

Sorry for sounding dumb...but I don't understand the lime green Disney heads post. Can someone explain what I'm missing?
thanks

Hmmmm.....but can we prop them up for the pictures?? :rotfl2: Amy :flower:

Jim,
Thanks for the list. Our group is now only five as one of the friends is no longer traveling with us. (that girlfriend thing just didn't work out)
We have brunch reservations at Palo's on the 4th at 11:30, but no dinner reservations as I like to spend that time catching up with my teenager and find out what has been going on with him. In the past this seemed to be the only time we would see him on at least 3 out of the 7 days on the ship.
I am going out tonight for more cruise shopping. My 17 year old reminded me that he has no swim suit that fits, and he needs it for lifeguard training tomorrow. So, I might as well kill two birds with one stone.
It is going to be a big weekend at our house. Our 22 year old is graduating from college on Sat. and he was just hired as the band and chorus director at a highschool, which is about 2 hours from our house. Boy time really does fly when it comes to raising kids.
I have also made Blue Bayou res. for Disneyland. I am still wondering about the Walk in Walt's Footsteps tour. Has anyone been on this tour? We have never been to Disneyland before and I thought this might be a neat thing to do. O.K. I have rambled enough, Have a great Friday, Angie

Home Depot's brand of paint is Behr. They have "Disney Color". The paint samples are colored Mickey heads on a white rectangle. (The white yellows with any heat/light.) I don't know if Darcy's post was in response to a particular post . I immediately knew what she meant - I read it just before leaving to get my son from school and there's a Home Depot kind of on the way. Of course I had to stop! So, Darcy, there were 3 greens - 2 of them sort of "limeish" (Alien Green, Sonic Boom and Gamma Sector Green). Which one did you get? I scanned them but I'm not sure I can figure out how to get them to display. That insert image thingy doesn't make sense to me :)

Sherry

Sherry,
From reading these Boards people use the Alien Green as a way to identify themselves as DIS members.

I am not sure how I will use them yet: make a little magnet for our door or turn it into a pin and wear it on the first few days. I would imagine they make it a little easier to walk up to someone you don't really know except from online discussions. Since the COLOR of the season IS lime green this year I think walking up to everyone on the boat dressed that way might keep ya busy. Hello, my name is Mokehil are you DareTooDream? :wave2:

I hope that we can arrange the meet. I expect that we will be to the port around 11:30am. I am not nearly as nervous now that the ressie rush is over. I am disappointed that they are not letting us book the surial/rasul early. I bet I can get my DH to stand in line for that one while I sit on the deck drinking foofoo drinks.

As for the new clothes discussion- I am using the cruise as an excuse to buy new clothes. I rarely get anything for myself and this has been fun. Finding a bathing suit however was NOT fun at all.

Have a great weekend. We are expecting warm temps, with more rain end of next week. We go to Six Flags Marine World tomorrow. We have an extra $20 ticket if anyone is interested.......

Darcy

I looked at the FAQ's about attachments. It said to look for a browse button at the bottom of the post composition page. I don't see such a thing. There are "posting rules" at the bottom of the page that says....

You may post new threads
You may post replies
You may not post attachments
You may edit your posts

Is it just me, or is it not allowed on this thread?

Sherry
