I started my new job today. Whew is this going to be a challenge beyond the normal teacher stuff I'm now dealing with medical issues. I absolutely loved it though and know i made the right choice in accepting this job. Though by the time we go on this cruise i may be exhausted and not do anything but find a lounge chair and sleep.

Good Luck!

Glad you like it. That's half the battle. Heck, can't wait to find a lounge chair and sleep in the balmy trade winds...........

Trunk Bay is gorgeous! I was there when I was 12 with my parents and then again on my honeymoon with DH.

The day at St. Thomas seems very short to me - off the ship at 8 and last call for boarding at 4:30. How long does it take to get the ferry/taxi etc? What time would you leave St. John to ensure you get back to the ship in time? And if you had to choose, would you go to Trunk Bay or Cinnamon Bay? Also, is there food at Trunk Bay?

The last time I was at TB, there was food, snorkeling gear and a little store to shop at.......the ferry runs more regularly and takes less time at Red Hook than the one in CA......I'll be there in a week and I'll do research TB vs. CB!:thumbsup2 To get there one way........an hour max with waiting time included.......

Wow! I just read something like ten pages!:worship:You guys sure have been busy!

Mark and I took a four night trip to Sarasota, Florida mainly to see the Reds play a couple of game in spring training. We had one day of no baseball which was fun too. We ended up renting a jet ski and riding around Sarasota Bay for an hour, went shopping at St. Armand's Circle (I got a dress for the cruise!), and hanging out at Siesta Key. It was so fun!

Now it's back to reality!!!!!

OK - I bought a dress, I have shoes to learn how to walk in, I booked the town car service, we have a room the night before we fly down, we've picked our excurions, we picked our ADR's, I've started to get clothes for DS, we have the dog kennel booked :cheer2:- now we wait, and wait, and wait. Can't do much more until April. :woohoo:Then we will pay off the cruise, stay up late to book Palo, call to reserved ADR's and tee times. Then we will wait again....:rolleyes1

I just got dresses for the girls and Aaron is debating on the vest color for his tux. I have a ball gown that I rarely get to wear, so I'm bringing that.

Which night would you all recommend to do Palo's? (If we're in the group brunch ressie, can we get an individual dinner ressie too?)

Of course, I don't know why I'm obsessing about vacation planning, when I've got to pack up my whole house in just under three months!!!!! :scared1:

On the Western, DH brought a suit. We noticed that few people dressed up on formal night. Plus, it was so hot, he couldn't wait to get back into casual clothing after dinner.

Good question: How many people are dressing up: tux or suit, gown?

We even noticed few did so on the Med, although more did on the Med than the Western. And this was before paying extra for luggage!

I was thinking of actually mailing the girl's dresses to the ship with our Fish extender stuff - since we won't need any of it until we get on the ship and we're criss-crossing the U.S. for a few weeks beforehand. Haven't checked on the price of postage or pressing though.

The girls are very excited about dressing up for a special night on the cruise - so we'll be going all out!

Oh, yes!!! Almost all of the little girls (and boys, too) were dressed up. They were adorable. Most of them took pictures with the characters in their formal wear. What a beautiful family portrait that will be. :yay::yay:

I enjoy getting dressed up, too. But I'm debating on just how dressed up we want to be. DH rented a tux on the Med and I'm glad he did, but not sure what to do for the Eastern.

Hey, only less than 50 posts to a pirate:.

Today is DH's Birthday so we're going out to dinner. Good luck to everyone in the pirate: race!

For formal night my mom and i will be in gowns. I even do my hair in an up do with a sparkle barrette. My brother will be in a suit he refuses to wear a tux but it is a black suit so it still looks really formal. For semi-formal night we are still pretty dressed up the dresses are just shorter and Matt wears a sports coat and tie instead of a suit. Mom and i love to dress up and this is the only chance we get to.

We dress up but not tuxes and ball gowns. Just a dressy dress and suits. Then we get changed and go to Rockin' Bar D!!party:

I'm sure most of us already know this, but I highly recommend family portraits on formal night. We have some amazing pictures of our family from those nights. Everyone looks great (I usually get my hair done in the salon that night) and it's so nice to have that great picture of our family!!! It's worth all the aggravation of packing the special clothes and other preparations!:dance3:

On our first cruise (2001) we rented tuxes for both DH and DS. DH wore the tux twice--once on formal night and once at Palo. I think he may have been the only one in Palo with a tux on--maybe one other guy. This time it will just be DH and I going and will probably skip the tux thing. He'll probably just wear a nice suit and tie. Me? Not sure yet--I'll have to go shopping--but it will be nice.:)

So far we have our pre-cruise reservations made, called today for the shuttle reservation--but that's about it. I felt like that was doing well.;) We have a rough idea of what excursions we're interested in, will definitely do the weekly pass for Rainforest and try for dinner and brunch at Palo. Last time we did both and both were awesome!:thumbsup2
