I'm getting excited, looking at shore excursions, making plans, putting together outfits, gathering books and snorkel gear.

Oh, wait - you're getting ready for July - nope, not that organized - We're leaving in 7 days on RCCL Voyager!!! :woohoo: :lmao:

Now that's the ONLY way to get through a cold miserable winter - Dare I mention we have our air conditioning on ;)

Hi everyone! My name is Melissa and I will be on this crusie with my mom and my brother. All adults. This will be our third DCL cruise and we've got our fourth booked for 2010. We just got offf the 7 night christmas crusie and realized we could not live until 2010 without getting back on the magic. So borrowing points from 2009 we are staying in a cat 10 on deck 2 room 2609. A little anxious about not having a verendah but wanted to do this cruise on points so no choice. I am a school teacher i teach third grade my brother is in college getting a degree in Hotel restaurant management and mom works form home. we live in the mountians of North Carolina and try to escape to Florida as often as possible.

Looks like I've got a lot of reading to do. I skiimed through but wanted to go ahead and post an intro for us. One question are we doing an FE gift exchange. We did this on the Christmas cruise and loved it. If one is planned we would love to be involved. Looking forward to getting to know everyone.

Welcome!:cool1:  :surfweb: :dance3: :cheer2: :yay: :grouphug:

Another teacher! :teacher: I guess we can handle just ONE more (joking!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: ) - this should get some feedback from the other teachers on-board:teacher: !:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

OK, let me start. I know where you are coming from...can't wait two more years to get back on a cruise, my husband and family are the same way...we LOVE cruising. A Christmas cruise sounds simply wonderful...by any chance, do you have pictures you might post...you see, I LOVE Disney pictures (especially the food - you will hear me talking about the food alot!)

I've been on this thread for many months and really enjoy the DISers on here...we have gotten to know each other quite a bit...during those awful hurricanes in Texas, we were so concerned about our new-found friends in Houston. Some of us have met already, some not. :sad2:

A few questions for you....are you planning on visiting Disney before the cruise? :confused3 Even the night before? :confused3 We would all love to meet each other before the July 18 sailing. :flower3:

YES, there will be a FE.....now all I need to do is find someone to make me one....I have an idea of the local gift i will bring (I'm from the Pa. Dutch country!). My family consists of my husband Bob, my son Bryan (22) and Tyler (17 at the time of the cruise).

Like I said, PLEASE keep in touch with this thread and, once again, Welcome:disrocks: :disrocks: :disrocks: :disrocks:

I've been lurking here for a while as we decided which week to cruise. I've had two different ones booked, but we decided to try something new with Tortola. Really looking forward to that port.

Not sure where to jump in with what info so here is a little bit to start. Cruising this time will be me (Shirley/Dizzyworld), my DD (14) and DS (15- almost 16) at the time of cruising. This started out at a mother-daughter trip, but I decided to bring my son since we have so much fun together.

Sadly my DH will be working. He and my DS will have returned from two weeks in New Mexico (Philmount- scout trip) the Monday before the cruise and is not able to take three weeks off in a row. And with the children's schedule for school sports, etc. we will not be able to go away in August anymore.

This seems like a fun group for this cruise. We're looking forward to meeting all of you. Like a few of you, I also teach. I'm teaching part-time at the community college helping people brush up on their math skills and helping them get their GEDs.

I'm interested in also finding out how the FE is being handled for this cruise? We did this in 2007 and it was lots of fun. We just did the kids but it was unbelievable how many different things showed up. And is there a list of people participating yet?

Thanks a bunch. And Happy 2009 to all!

The christmas cruise was simple magical and getting to go to castaway cay twice was a great treat. I do have pictures that I will share as soon as I get a chance. Yes we are staying at WDW before and after the cruise. Not sure where yet as we have used all of our points for 08 and 09 for this cruise but we will be doing a pre and post cruise stay.

Melissa - My son Matt wants to go to school for Hotel/Motel management. He's a Junior right now. His dream is to get a job working on DCL. Where are you staying after the cruise? I just changed our OKW ressies to AKL villas with a savanah view. The last time stayed there it was in January and so cold we couldn't spend much time watching the animals.

We are in between BWV and SSR. We stayed at aKV after the christmas cruise and it was disaster from check in to check out. The only good point of the stay was the villa.

Welcome Melissa! I am a fourth grade teacher in SE PA! We are also sailing in 2010, I think we're getting on when you get off. Yes, we are doing the FE, although most of us are new to it. Any suggestions?

Welcome, I agree, I think we are blessed with the nice people that we are sailing with........we're new to FE, so I'm hoping more experienced people share how best to do it. There is a thread on the regular forum that tells what are some of people's favorite FE gifts.

My suggestion would be to limit it to one gift and then assign everyone a day to deliver on. For the Christmas cruise we did a gift a day and it got to be way to much trying to do delivers every singal day. Also if each family is assigned a day with a couple groups per a day your guaranteed soemthing in your FE each day.

Sounds good.......Lucy's in charge!

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: Good one!

:welcome:
to Lissa, Shirley and families!

My name is Jenny, and I too am a fourth grade teacher in southern Indiana, but please do not hold that against me!:rotfl2: This is our third DCL trip having cruised the western in 2003 and the Mexican Riviera in 2005 with JoAnn (jlawall) and Lucy (lwilliam).

I can't remember which one mentioned it, but our DS12 is also heavily involved in scouting. He will be at camp until the Thurs. of our cruise (picking him up early). We also have a DS15 and DD10 (all ages at time of cruise).

Hope everyone's NY was fun. Back to school tomorrow!:teacher: :sad2:

We are big into scouting here. It has been a wonderful troop. Great group of boys and lots of parents participating. We're hoping that sometime this year my DS makes Eagle rank. My DH would like it done by the time they go to Philmont in New Mexico. (For those of you not into scouting, Philmont is like the boy scout mecca. My MIL told me she was told that you send a boy and get back a man. So I guess there is hope for my DH?:lmao: )

:teacher: We are not ready to return to school tomorrow. I hate all the schedules we have to deal with and the homework/projects. I really miss the children being home. C'est la vie.

That's so nice that some of you have sailed together before. For us, meeting people through the Dis Boards has really made our trips extra special.

WELCOME to everyone just joining us!!!!!

DH&DS are Eagle Scouts. DH & I are still Merit Badge Counselors. Once a scout, always a scout!!!

Again it seems there will be many teachers on our cruise!

JoAnn is right about having to walk us through the FE's. Some people did FE's on our last cruise, but DH&I didn't. We will this time as those that did had a lot of fun. Maybe those of you that are more creative could help out those of us creatively-challenged (like me) with some ideas.

So you're in charge of the FE's Lucy?????? Or is that just JoAnn volunteering you?:rotfl: :rotfl:

Maryann: You've met JoAnn....wanna take a guess on this one!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
Me? who has NEVER done a FE in my entire 7 or 8 cruises with Disney...this should be good:scared1: :scared1:

To all our NEW Disers: let me explain: I have no idea what I'm going to be volunteered for by jfis1020 or jlawall from day to day:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

Wait till I start making the lists of:
1) who is doing FE:confused3
2) who is staying at Disney pre-cruise:confused3
3) who is staying at Disney post-cruise:confused3
4) who is going to be at our first meet on the ship?:confused3

Before the lists can begin, I'm hoping more people who are on our list will return to this thread. :worship: :worship: :worship: AND I'm so happy to be meeting 'new people' on this thread. :cheer2:

Can you tell I'm a happy person being home today and Tyler back in school:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

This cruise is really getting exciting, since the holidays are over and we can start chatting about our trip, instead of how busy we are during the holidays (I'm guilty of this!)....ALTHOUGH, ONE of us is taking a cruise very shortly and I'm totally jealous!:grouphug:

Ugh we started back to school today. I always hate the first day back after a break it is so long. Since we have no spring break only two days off for easter the next 6 months are going to be forever long. The only good news is it is supposed to start snowing. I'm praying for a few snow days.
