wow, joann - life isn't dull at your house!!!

My parents arrive this week for the holiday weekend, dd's birthday and ds's band concert. My dad arrives today from Chicago and we're going to the Cubs/Astros game!!! :cool1: Mom isn't into baseball so she's coming Thursday in time for ds's concert. A slight brag moment - ds made the national junior honor society - the bad part - we had to give up our Cubs tickets for tomorrow night. The ceremony conflicted - these darn kids, messing up plans!!! ;)

In case you were wondering.....

1 year 1 month 29 days 59 minutes 41 seconds
60 weekends
424 days
10,176 hours (6,784 waking hours)
610,619 minutes
36,637,180 seconds

Well, Monica, we have to introduce you to another DISfriend of Lucy & I, she's always at the Reds games in Cincinati! Sounds like we're on the same thread again!!!

Best of Luck!!!!!!!

It's been quite a week, Tracy is safe with Tara, the baby is 18 today......we lost our first game but we're still in it, next game is tomorrow and then next Tuesday is state playoffs.........:thumbsup2

Graduation in less than a month and of course, the soccer banquet, which I'm running in two weeks........yikes, I might just be happy when it's over!:confused3

Amy,
I'm looking at the 60 weekends, that one sounds the best:cool1:

Mrs. G.
My DH and I WANT the empty nest syndrome but it seems so far away - our 21 yr. old will be with us forever, and then we have a son going to 11th grade. Bob (my DH) and I were dreaming of buying a two bedroom house, maybe the 21 yr. old would get the hint!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

JoAnn:
You are SO LUCKY, your girls are beautiful girls (and expensive:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: ) Hope we can get together at the beach this summer AND NYC:woohoo: We DO plan on meeting up with you at Universal this summer.:dance3:

Mickeymo:
Congrats on the honor society (I'm jealous)....our 10th grader only does enough work to 'get by' and just make honor roll...we've got VERY lazy sons.
We had our last concert for the season, in the park tonight....show choir and jazz ensemble. Show choir leaves for Cedar Point Amusement Park to compete, on Friday after school. My DH and I are going along - 7-1/2 hour bus ride, returning late Sunday night. They compete on Saturday and have the rest of the time free at the park. NOW my husband and I asking, 'why in the world did we volunteer to chaperone'!!!!!!:sad2:

Garry - loved the picture

I've had a sinus headache for 2 days thanks to these temperature fluctuations.:headache: Why can't it get warm and stay there. And let's not forget the rain EVERY SINGLE DAY THIS WEEK!!!!

Matt has a 5 day weekend coming up (2 unused snow days) but we can't go anywhere because the band is marching in the Memorial Day parade on Monday.

I hear you, what a dreary spring!

what did everyone do this weekend?:cool1:

We took our show choir to Sandusky, OH to the Cedar Point Amusement Park and they also were in competition. I am happy to say, the jazz ensemble won first place (of which I am proud to say Tyler is a member), the show choir took second place (missing first place by ONE POINT) and one of the girls in our group won first place for soloist overall. The great thing was, our school is a very small school and we competed against very large schools - our director and parents were very proud of these kids. They also behaved so well. My family (DH, DS, and myself) did NOT like the park at all - we consider ourselves DISNEY SNOBS!:lmao: :lmao::rotfl2: :rotfl2:
The food was SO EXPENSIVE at the park the kids couldn't afford to eat!
The roller coasters were so crazy, we don't ride those kind of rides, so needless to say - we were bored.
The bus ride was 7-1/2 hours long and we returned home last night at
11:30 p.m. - I feel so sorry for any of the kids that are in band, they had to march very early in a Memorial Day parade - our family didn't get up till 9:00 this morning:woohoo:

We went to the movies this afternoon - my DH and DS saw Indiana Jones, I went to see Made of Honor (LOVE Patrick Dempsey - definitely a chik flik!).

What did everyone else do?

5 more full days of school and 3 half days, and we are DONE!:yay: :yay:

Ok, I'm completely jealous about your school schedule......we have until the 16th (3 weeks) with kids and then one additional day w/o. Tara will come home to help with Jessica's graduation celebration and have about 3 weeks before she goes to NYC.

On the plane tonight I saw........27 dresses and PS I Love You......talk about chick flicks! Then I also saw The Bucket List with Morgan Freeman and Jack Nickolson.......really good too!:cloud9:

We definitely having a "full" year but I think I'll be looking forward to some normalcy very soon!:worried:

Have a wonderful trip!!!!!
We seriously have to arrange some kind of DISmeet in NYC this summer (maybe Starwood could come?) and Lucy since my DD23 will be interning this summer up there! Would anyone else be interested?:cool1: :thumbsup2

Maybe we can all meet at the World of Disney store.

We have another month of school. It ends 6/25 with the last 3 days 1/2 days.

Matt had to march in the parade yesterday. It was 80 degrees and they have long sleeve wool uniforms with gloves. They were HOTTTT. He has to go to the orthodontist today. Hopefully we'll get rid of the retainer for good.

We saw Indiana Jones on Saturday. I just love Harrison Ford. There are so few good movies being made that I want to pay to see in the movies. I'd much rather wait and get it from Netflix in the comfort of my own home.

My DD Lauren's Choir was at a competition and then went to Cedar Point the weekend before. They had a great time - long lines - but still love the roller coasters.

I worked on Saturday and Monday so we went to the Pirate Baseball game on Sunday for my birthday. It was a beautiful day and the Pirate's won!!! (Sorry for bringing that up yet again Monica.....)

Have a great week!

Joannster: NYC - you know I am there - anytime, except during my Disney trip, which I can't wait for - so from July 20-Aug. 1st, we are not available.(and we are visiting with you for one day in Universal!)
The Disney Store sounds like a great place to meet:cool1: :woohoo: Heck, there is hardly a trip to NYC that I don't visit the Disney Store! (and when I'm with your girls, JoAnn, and visit Tiffany's:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: )
How in the world did you see all those movies - you were supposed to sleep!:scared1: :scared1: Loved 27 Dresses!

WVMD: WOW, we were ALMOST in the same place (NOT!) - well, we DID pass the Pittsburgh exit on the turnpike!:lmao: :lmao: We Phillies fans in Kutztown have always been big rivals of Pirates - my cousin lives in Pittsburgh and it has always been a big 'argument' (not really) between the Phillies and Pirates.

Starwood: Tyler has had his braces on for almost three years this summer - we are tired of this - I had my husband take him last week and demand a definite date they will come off!:furious:
Like I said, I feel so sorry for those kids that had to march in yesterday's parade, we got home around 11:30, and our parade is early in the morning. Now Tyler wanted to stay home today from school and I reminded him how lucky he was he didn't need to get up yesterday....well, let's just say that didn't help the argument - he does have allergies or a cold, but so did alot of the kids, I told him to try to get thru first period and then he can call me.

Matt was supposed to have his braces for about 2 years. He had them for about 15 months. I guess his teeth moved really fast. Matt has today off for unused snow day. They had a 5 day weekend! We still have one day left to get back.

Our parade started at 2 pm. and is about a mile and 1/2.
