Hello Everybody
We booked it today and we are going July 18th Med. cruise as it is our second Disney Cruise. :cool1: :sunny: :thumbsup2

Welcome to the thread! I added you guys to the "Who's Sailing" list. I love seeing our list of families growing!

Your DS will be right between my boys in age - my older son will turn 11 about a month before sailing and my younger will be 9 3/4 :)

Looking forward to getting to know you!

Hi Deborah, Ian & kids,

My name is Andrea and my daughter is Kirsten who is 10 at present and 11 when we sail. We live in Grangemouth so not too far from you.

Hello Andrea

It is nice to hear from you.

Wow, it is not far as I have some friend who live in Falkirk well.

We're coming up on the 14 month mark. This time next year we'll be working on our packing lists!

My kids have one more week of school after this week. Hooray!

Hi, Everyone:
Our family will be joining you all on the 7/18 cruise. My dad will be joining our family, which includes four children who still live at home, ranging from 25 to 13. We have also convinced our son, daughter-in-law and infant granddaughter to go (as of right now) and friends of ours whose roots are from Italy. So far that's four rooms between us all. Whew! We are also talking it up with our other Italian friends to see if we can get them to go look up their long-distant relatives...
I have just started research into airfare, and since I have never been to Europe, we have thought about adding a few extra days to tour on land. I have noticed that other cities' airfare (such as Paris, London) are much cheaper, and if you have a big group, this can offset the cost of a rental car or shuttle fare to Barcelona.
If I find great deals from home (if you like, post your home airports), I will post the link on this site. We can't book more than 12 months ahead of time, but that is fast approaching... :yay:
Phyllis

We are Disney Cruise Line veterans(Caribbean, Mexican Riviera, Panama Canal) and Disney fanatics. I tell my husband that HE can write the Birnbaum books. :)

Phyllis - welcome to the Meet Thread! Please do post what you find in your research about flights, etc. I think we're all trying to figure out what will work best for our families / time off / plans, etc.

When we sailed in December, for me, it was all about being on the ship. But when we go to the Med, it's all about being at the ports and seeing a part of the world I may never have a chance to see again, so I'm spending time learning what I can about the areas we're going to.

I'll add y'all to our list of DISers later today. We're keeping a list of who all is going and hopefully we'll be able to schedule a Meet for the first day so we'll have familiar faces for the duration of the cruise :)

Hi

Let you know that I have send my review report 'This is about our 3 Day Disney Wonder Cruise'. :thumbsup2

Hope you will read it. ;)

I hope it will not put you off as our disability but don't worry we always get on well with people as I can lip reading and talk. :)

Looking forward to meet you all on 18th July. :cool1: :Pinkbounc

Deborah - I just read your trip report! Sounds like you all had a wonderful time, and I'm so glad that you all will get to enjoy a longer cruise than 3-days.

Hi!
I have been so busy with painting our great room and dining room that I haven't really checked in for about a month! Our next project is finding an old Pontiac Silver Streak or Chieftan to work on. :)

This will be our 4th Disney Cruise. We've been on 2 Western and one Eastern. Our last cruise was Dec 3rd Western. Jack said he was done with Disney and after the tequilla tasting, he went and booked the Med cruise! Well, not exactly, he booked the latest he could knowing he'd transfer it to the Med cruise.

We are debating on flying into either Paris or London. Seems like the London flights are way cheaper, but I'm not sure about getting to Paris and then Barcelona. Can anyone on the other side of the pond help me with this? I looked at the train and it was something like $375 for the 4 of us to travel from London to Paris. Should we try and find a cheap flight or hire a car? What about getting from Paris to Barcelona?

Too much on my plate! I'm excited about so many things!!
Kitty :cat:

Hi Kitty

If you want to go to Paris, what about Euro Tunnel Train from London to Paris? I think better without hire car if you use Euro Tunnel train. Then flying from Paris to Barcelona?? If i need anything special or more idea I will email you.

Kitty

Hi I was looking it at 28 July 2007 and wonder if it suitable for you? Have a look at it. As it was from Lynn Tarant: Her message :

Ok now I know some of you were asking about visiting Disneyland Paris whilst in Europ. I have just found out about a Hotel Train which leaves Barcelona at around 8pm and arrives at 8:30am the next morning in Paris where it's a simple matter to get onto the Euro Disney Express train. There are sleeping cars which can accommodate 4 or 2 or deluxe cars sleeping two with shower and toilet. very European to travel by train. here's the link

Hi, yes - my children finished the school year on May 26th and we go back in mid-August. We get out next year around the same time, so we'll have about 6 weeks of summer vacation before leaving for the Cruise. We generally get 11 weeks off from school for summer break. I wish it wasn't so long, but that's just how it's set up for our school district.
