We arrived at MCO about 7:30pm on Wed, and then took a "Tiffany's" van to the RPR. Check in line was short so we proceded to the regular check in and was greated by Ingrid. Our reservation was for a pool view room with double beds at the Entertainment rate of $125. I asked about an upgrade to club level and it was only available for two of our five nights for $35 extra. I accepted. Received teen Loew's back pack for both boys without asking and presented report cards and "grade A" was added to both their room keys.

The bellsman "Rob" escorted us to our room and stopped by the club lounge to introduce us to the staff. It was dessert hour so the kids grabbed a coke and cookies and it was off to our room.

Our room for the first half of the trip was 3726, in tower 3. The room was very nice, exactly what I expected, except for the view. It was WONDERFUL!!! Not only did we have a view of the entire pool, also a great view of Hulk and Doom. We then unloaded our bags and headed to City Walk, watched the fireworks while we waited for a table at Margaritaville. DH and I had shrimp pasta and DS-14 has Jambalaya , DS-9 had buffalo wings, and LS(little sister) Had steak fajitas. We all has a drink and a lot of fun. The band that night was really great!!!!

Day 2

Had breakfast in the Club lounge very good and convenient. IOA was wonderful as usual, we never had to wait longer than 10min in line (FOTL is the only way to go) it was very hot and a little crowded so it was a big help. We had lunch at Enchanted Oak
( a family favorite) and returned to our room for a break around 5. At about 6:30 we decided to go to happy hour in the club lounge, it was wonderful, veggies and dip, cheese and crackers, today hot chicken pasta, chips salsa, sour cream and guacamole. Plus coke, sprite, water, wine, beer and mixed drinks for a $5.00 charge. We were all very full and headed back to IOA to finish off our night.

Day 3

Breakfast at club lounge, and packed up our stuff to move to our new room, we were told no rooms were ready and to go to the parks and when ever we could come back and they would assign new room. Arrived at USO about 10:30am it was very hot and crowded. We rode all the rides and got great pictures of the kids with Scooby ans Shaggy after their show and also Jimmy Neutron. We ate hot dogs for lunch to get ready for Tchoup Chop later that evening. the lines at USO were longer than IOA , but it was Friday. ( Thank you FOTL) the line for Shrek was 2 hours !!!! we only has to wait 15 min. It was the best ride I really enjoyed it. BTW the inflatable Shrek was still at the entrance. By 5:30 we had rode all the rides we wanted to and was ready for a break. Went back to the hotel and decided to visit the club lounge for happy hour one more time. The feature food this day was shrimp pasta salad. The kids were hungry and ate tons. It was again, very good. Checked in our new room 3604, in the same tower, again great view, and right by the elevator.

* Coming later tonight Part 2, Tchoup Chop and Sea World

,
Great report. I have a question though. I also have a room with the entertinment rate and thought that you could not upgrade to club level with an entertainment rate. Do you think you were lucky, or does it seem to be policy now? Thanks Amy

I just returned Wednesday from three nights at RPR. We had a standard room at the Ent. rate of $110. I am Loews Gold and had a postcard for a free upgrade to a suite if available. I was told because I had an Ent. rate I could not receive the free upgrade. I asked about Club Level and was told I would have to pay rack rate. I asked about an upgrade to waterview and she said that would be $35. I declined that because I could have booked a waterview room myself at Ent. rate of $125, why would I want to pay $145 for it. I think you just have to get lucky. I think it depends on who you get to check you in and occupancy of the hotel.

I didn't really expect the upgrades (I had read the fine print on the postcard) and the new Loews First rules. The room we had was fine (with a perfect view of the fireworks) and it was a good value at $110. I did receive a nice bottle of white wine as a Loews Gold member.

I loved the RPR (we have also stayed at HRH and PBH) and would stay there again.

I really think we were lucky. I had read about the new rules but thought I would just try.

Thanks for sharing ~ Wonderful reviews!!!!!!
