July 16, 2016 Disney Fantasy, Eastern Caribbean

Ha! That only means you served TWICE (or three times over, a spouse counts for two in my book). We are a Navy family too. I am a physician at Walter Reed now. This will be the first time for the kiddos in a 'real' ship - right and proper that we get underway together!
I know your kids will will have a great time! It took me about 11 years to convince my husband to go on the cruise - he said he had spent enough time at sea! But the first night of the first DCL cruise we were on, he looked at me and said "This trip is going to be too short".

And I do admit - it was easier being on active duty than being a military wife - especially when he was on deployment! Thank you - and your family - for your continued service!

We've been in June and March and it was beautiful both times. I think it can rain all day but it's less likely
We have sailed Jan, April and October and all three times we had great weather. My sister sailed in Feb and it was so windy they had trouble docking. They finally got docked and could get off ship but nothing was open. I have been nervous about sailing in July - I have no idea what to expect. Just too hard my kids ages (high school and college) these days to book anything during the school year.

Ok, Madzac, I'm doin' it! (Deep breath)...Add us to the FE group please :-) Rm 7086 DH, DW, DD(11)peanut allergy, DD(8)
First time doing FE and nervous. It looks like so much fun when we saw them on previous cruises. I just hope I don't get anxious about getting them all done on time. I would just like my youngest to experience this and hopefully convince my "preteen" to join the fun. You're only young once!
Now I have to make the extender :tilt:
I am a 1st timer as well :) I have been on 3 cruises and always wondered what that was. I just found out from a friend who is a DVC member. Who knew!!! Guess its better late than never. My kids would have loved this when younger but being older they are excited to participate. Just ordered an extender on Etsy (I am so not crafty). Now to gather gifts - EEKS!!!

I've just been reading a really interesting thread about FE gifting; people were sharing ideas and some of the gifts they liked in the past, and they were talking about how some fe groups apply restrictions like no dollar store, favorite characters for each person, and basically how some become a pinterest competition to see who can spend the most money or be the most crafty..... it doesn't seem like our cosy group here is like that at ALL, and that makes me happy :-) As a first time cruiser this for me is going to be about walking around the ship with my younger kids, delivering surprises, and getting super excited when something is in our pocketses! Whether it's a pencil, or a hand crafted personalized whatsit, my kiddos are going to love it, and I can't wait to see them get excited about giving, not just receiving! So whatever you get from us, know that it will be something my son thought looked awesome, or my 14yr old helped me make (taking precious time out of his important video game!) Or my 3yr old held in her chubby hand and wanted to keep for herself :cloud9: haha! But most of all, I hope we can all simply have fun and excitement, with no expectation of a certain value or expert level of pinterestiness! :lovestrucpirate:
I have a 14 year old too who loves his precious games! Always fun to receive but so much more fun to give!!!

I haven't checked in for awhile and I'm excited to see all the activity on here. We are so close!! We are currently building a house and have been living with my in laws for the past 5 weeks. Our house is suppose to be finished June 30th. Then we are leaving just a couple weeks later. Hope time flies! Can't wait!!

Good luck! That does sound hectic - but fun too.

We're in Valencia, about 5 minutes from Magic Mountain :sunny:
We lived in there from 1985-1991. We were up behind Saugus High off of Bouquet Canyon. My husband was the VP of Retail at Magic Mountain, then in 1991 we relocated to St. Louis for Six Flags St. Louis.......... I miss living there soooooooo much!

Seems I joined the party late! I'll blame it on being a newbie only recently locking up leave for this trip :). We are a family of five with two boys (16 & 10) and one girl (8). First time on DCL and extremely excited about the trip! If there is any chance for a Pixie Dust spot on a FE we'd love to be considered.

Safe travels to all of you and see you on deck!

I have an 8 year old, I hope they get a chance to meet each other:-)
