July 15-22 2006 Western Anyone?

Wow! You've all been very busy posting since I last checked in. I'm not going to read them all now - just thought I'd check in one last time. We are having a good time at WDW. The weather has not cooperated at all. We've been here before in July and expected afternoon showers but Wednesday and Thursday it poured most of the afternoon. Wednesday we never left AKL, yesterday we were at EPCOT and did the best we could. Today dh is golfing then he's going to take Noah back to go on more rides while I get a little alone time at DTD  and the laundry room :laundy:

AKL is beautiful. I'm not very impressed with the Concierge here however, the Poly staff seems much nicer. We've not seen many animals from our room either. My heart belongs to Poly  .

We are all very eager to get on the ship so we can relax and get pampered!!

Safe travels to everone.

Sorry to hear about your weather. It's been like that all week here in Tampa too. It's very unusual this time of year. Unfortunalty there was a Low Pressure system that was sitting over the state. It looks like tomorrow will be a clear sailaway!!!!

Have fun shopping in DTD. See you tomorrow!!!

Now that sounds yummy :)

I just finished cleaning the upstairs. Not too bad of a job. I had to vacuum around all the suitcases in my room though. :rotfl2:

I'm just taking a quick break before I start on the bathrooms. Yuck. Not my favorite thing to do. I'm so glad I did such a big clean last week and kept on it. This will be a breeze!!!

My aunt made it before I got home. Busy, busy, busy. I had to hit the store after the program because Nate wanted to get a white t-shirt and sharpie markers so he could have his newfound friends from the cruise sign it. I had to buy a pack of 5 shirts. When will it end. Ithought I could stay out of the stores today. :sad2:

Well, I am going to check all the posts and then I will entertain my aunt for a while. We already had a beer. Bad girls, but it is after 12.

We had just about the same forcast for our cruise in May. I'm happy to say that we did not see a drop of rain until the last night of our cruise. The tropics are looking good!!!!

:woohoo: :woohoo:

Thanks so much. That will be nice to come home to them. :cool1: Of course, I will have to take one on the ship to maybe taste....or I can bag up some samples. :rotfl2:

I will be back to finish reading all the posts. My aunt came in from smoking her cigarrette. I should get down there. :rolleyes1

That's a good idea Nate had. No, I'm not going out to the stores. No way no how. If I don't have it by now then we just will do without.

Jon is all packed!!! Can you believe it? I can't. He had it all done in about a 1/2 hour.

Haven't had any cocktail yet. MMMM beer now that sounds good. I have to hold off a little longer until Zach gets back from camp.

They have mini rum cakes. I usually buy one of those to bring back to the ship.

Enjoy your time with your aunt.

I tagged our bags and they are now in a pile waiting to be put in the car. I'm really exhausted. I'm sure watching a little Johnny Depp later on will perk me right up. :teeth:

Still not sure what we are going to do for dinner. Not in the mood for pizza. Decided against mexican since I can't have a margarita. It just might be a drive thru night. :car: (not really I just wanted to use that icon) We had chinese last night. I'm clueless. Any ideas?

I think I'm going to curl up on my bed for a little while a chill out. I will check back later.

Happy thought, we should be at our meet tomorrow at this time or at least getting ready for the lifeboat drill!!!!! Sail away is just a little over 24 hours away!

I'm sorry to hear about the weather. I hope that this afternoon is much better for you. Well, maybe we will have clear skies for the duration of the cruise.

I would love to go to DTD. It would be dangerous for me to go at this point though. :rolleyes1

I have 5 shirts...you can have a couple of them for your little ones. Well, it may be too big for a 3 year old, but she could hang it on her wall. :) But, seriously, if Zach would like to do this, do not buy a white shirt. I will have them.

:lmao: My aunt wants to see POTC tonight so she can prep when she and my mom go see number 2. I can't believe I have to suffer through it one more time. ;)

That is very nice, thank you. I totally forgot that I actually bought Zach some white tshirts to go under his button down shirts for formal night. I believe I have 5 in a pack as well.

Thanks again!

That is such a shame to have to sit through that dreadful movie with Johnny Depp. I can feel your pain. We too will be watching it. :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Just a minute here.....my family must think there is something very interesting here in my bedroom. I seem to retreat here a lot laterly. :rotfl2:

One quick question before I go back to these people that live in my house :rotfl: My 14 year old is insisting that he will wear only dressy shorts to dinner on the "non dressy" nights. He says he is like his father and really doesn't care if people think badly of him. (What have we done?) Anyway, are there people that wear shorts in the dining rooms? Unfortunately, I do care what others think to a degree. Unfortunately also, I am the only female in this family; thus, the only one that cares. :rolleyes1

Be back later

We are here!! We spent the afternoon by the pool. I had to try one of the Margaritas. It was okay. Both DD's met another pair of sisters, and they have been having a lot of fun. We just got back from dinner, and they are back at the pool again, playing with their new found friends.

BTSEN5 - if you want your DD14 to wear pants, tell him it is perfectly acceptable for boys to wear dressy shorts to dinner... as long as the boys are only five years old.

Seriously, I think if a man wore dress shorts to dinner, something may be said, as the suggested attire specifically says no shorts. A 14 year old may be able to get away with it, but he might be the only one wearing shorts. How about letting him wear the shorts on the first night, see what other folks are wearing and if he is still comfortable wearing the shorts. If he is the only one wearing shorts, he may opt himself to wear pants the rest of the cruise.

I have the same dilema with Zach. I'm going to let him wear dressy shorts and a polo shirt to dinner on "non dressy" nights. First off he only has two pairs of dressy pants and that's because I had to buy them for him for this cruise. Living here in Florida kids even wear dressy shorts to church. I figured if it's good enough for church why not a cruise. The Disney cruise we went on last year I saw men wearing shorts and jeans to dinner. If people have a problem with Zach in shorts, then so be it. I'm not going to worry about it. Honestly if people are so worried about what everyone is wearing it just takes the fun out of going to dinner. I do look forward to the formal and semi-formal nights because it is fun playing dress up with the kids!!

I'm sorry about going on and on here about this, but I was going around in circles with this myself.

Glad ya'll made it safe and sound!! The kids have had their baths and I'm getting ready to put them to bed. The car is all packed!! We are going to head out of here around 7:00am. That should put us at the port before 10:00am.

See ya tomorrow.

I told him that for little boys it would probably be okay. I am bringing pants too, so I am hoping that he will decide to wear them. I could force the issue, but I will not get in an argument about it, especially while on vacation. We will see how it all works out.

Glad to hear you made it and have gotten to relax a bit. We are going to leave here at 6:15 to get to the airport. Weather is looking okay, and everyone is so excited.
