July 13, 2008 - Cruisin' the Mexican Riviera

Hello West Coast Cruisers! I am getting so excited about our trip and beginning to think about things that need to be done. I am going to be traveling in a group of 11 and I want to do t-shirts for all of us. Last time I did the West Coast cruise, the other DISers had an official t-shirt and it was really fun to help spot the folks from the boards. A design was uploaded to CafeExpress and we were all able to order (or not order) t-shirts for ourselves and our families.

Here is my dilemma: I am not a talented designer. Is someone else? I know there is a whole design thread, but most of those look so fussy and I am also concerned about licensing issues using the characters on the shirts. Anyone interested in shirts? Otherwise, I will figure out something for my group of 11 and you'll see us in them on the first day.

Best,
Linda

Hi All,

Does anyone know how guaranteed staterooms work? I thought I could go to my cruise online and they would update my reservation today. Am I wrong? :listen:

Hi Connie
We had a guaranteed room on our last cruise with Disney. I believe we had to wait for our documents to come in before we were assigned a room.

Hi Connie - I believe GTY cabins are assigned 30-days out, so you should be able to go online to find out your stateroom number sometime around June 13th. :)

Hi Linda,

Cruise t-shirs are a great idea. A DISer designed one for our Mediterranean Cruise and that made it really easy to spot all of our new friends. :goodvibes Unfortunately, I am not good at designs, either. Anyone else???

 I don't want to wait that long!!! Thanks for the info!!! :)

I am so NOT talented...I'm supposed to be, I'm a Pisces. They're supposed to be creative. I am a mutant! :rotfl2:

on my last cruise we did a easy way of making shirts, made a name for the group and put the name on the shirt simple as that

I also think shirts are a great idea but I am not a very good designer either. On our last cruise I just picked up one of the Dis green mickey ears paint samples from Home Depot and pinned it to my shirt figuring people would recognize the Dis green Mickey Ears. Also someone from our group had these same green mickey ears made into magnets with our Dis'er names and the date of our cruise. We put them on our doors so that people could find us and know that we were from the Dis boards. Maybe we could do something similar but make the mickey ears into pins if we can't come up with a design for shirts. But I am all up for doing fun shirts.

Also, I got my fish extender in the mail yesterday so if people are up for this I am in :cool1: .

Hello Everyone!
Just checking in.

I finalized our tour thru Mazatlan Frank recently. That feels good. I hate loose ends. I couldn't decided which tour I wanted.:goodvibes
Now I need to decide between Randi's Happy Horse's or DCL dolphin swim in PV. Choices!!!

Side note: I wrote about my bad experience with the DCL Paradise Beach excursion in PV on this board and got flamed a bit. So interesting. Some folks really have a hard time hearing that someone else had a different experience than they did. Anywho......
hope everyone is having fun planning, talking about and reading about the cruise. It is coming up fast.

Hi Rene'!
I think that a lot of people don't realize that excursion experiences can be completely different depending on when you go, your family make-up, and who is leading the excursion. In other words, people who went on May 7th will definitely NOT have the exact same experience as people who go on the same excursion on May 14th! Another way to look at it is a family with 2 adults and 2 toddlers is going to have a completely different experience than a family with a single parent and 2 teenagers. Lots of factors can influence how an excursion goes. So, please don't let those flamers upset you. I appreciate hearing about everyone's experiences so I can make a good decision for my own family. :goodvibes
