July 12, 2011 - Sailing to Alaska is WONDERful style!!!

princess - hi - our cost is a little higher - i had a nephew who was planning his july wedding & didn't confirm that the date wouldn't conflict with our cruise until the prices went up (but it's still a great deal) - we're leaving on saturday - no hotel yet - but checking on discounts - the trolly is interesting - we loved it in dc & philly - but i have one question - if you're taking the night flight - do you think you can get transport to the city that late at night - this is what we are going back and forth on with the hotel - also i have three kids - 20 / 18 / 6 so we should see you around the kids club or the family pool -

Does Anyone plan to book another cruise onboard?? 2012 dates and everything will be officially out tomorrow.

97 Days!!

Jonathan

aloha,
We just booked our room for our pre cruise stay at the Hilton Vancouver Metrotown. We got a 1 bedroom executive suite for 4 adults.
DW,DM and DMIL. It was a better deal than getting 2 rooms.

aloha,
hawaiian mickey

We moved our dummy cruise to a New York to Canada cruise today. It would have been nice; however, if it was a 7 day cruise with a stop in Maine. Maybe another year. I looked at adding the 2 day cruise to complete a B2B, but decided against it.

I would have loved to book Hawaii, but the kids are still in school. I have a few more years to wait on that trip.

I would have loved to do the Hawaii but being a senior in High School i thought it would be a bad choice to miss that many days.
I want to go on the Canada cruise...but we will see.

definately using the onboard discount to book a 2012 cruise - have always wanted to cruise to canada

Same here-already have Hawaii booked, but going to try to see if I can rebook it onboard and just transfer the reservation to my TA. That way I keep DCL discount and OBC as well as the TA's. My friend tried reserving Friday for Hawaii and there was no availability for what she wanted.

Still need to work on a car reservation for Vancouver, at least flight, hotel, and excursions are booked. I would like to research if it would be worthwhile if I book our excursions on our own.

Do we have a FE list? I rarely go on Facebook, but I don't think I have access to the page.

I do not think it will be a problem getting a taxi at any hour from the airport to the hotel. That is what we are planning to do in the ealy hours of the AM when we arrive. I have the hotel booked Friday night although we will not get there until 2 AMish Saturday morning.

We also booked a NYC Canada cruise on Friday. A B2B with the 2 day cruise that follows was our original thought, but we decided against it. We are doing the July 8th 5 night.

Anyone on the thread a gold or platinum member and willing to check and see if the Bear Country and Wildlife Excursion (Ketchikan) is available to book for our cruise? BFF is joining DS and I on the cruise in place of DH, and one of the only things she's consistently talked about is seeing bears. The information about this excursion says it's seasonal and operates from mid-July to September.

I'd love to surprise BFF on Thursday morning (the 90 day mark!) and tell her that I was able to get us this excursion.

I don't see it. The only thing with bear was the bear creek zipline.

That's too bad. DH tried calling a few tour operators in Alaska a few months ago and asked them when they started doing similar tours and they all said the last full week of July--looks like that was the correct timeframe. Not mid-July like the DCL site says :sad2:.

Thanks for checking!

The 90 Day Mark is now!!! Bookings opened up at midnight. It is now 12:35 AM and I am finished. I did get everything I wanted, except for one in Ketchikan due to a time conflict. It was a hard decision between the two activities!

My check-in page is still telling me that check in starts on April 13th...

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Thank you so much for posting that today is the day! Not to be melodramatic, but we had a burglarly at our house on Friday and I'm not back to normal. I remembered to check the reservation card with the date to begin booking excursions (April 13), but for some reason had it in my head that tomorrow is the 13th.

Missed out on Palo brunch, but got everything else I wanted (except for the Bears in Ketchikan--guess the salmon don't know they're supposed to be there during our cruise so the bears show up!).

:scared1: Not melodramatic at all. That is so scary. Glad you got all checked in and got almost everything you wanted.

I was up at 2AM and it would not let me check-in. Got back on at 6am and everything went smoothly. Good luck!

I went to bed at 1am Eastern (with no excursions). Was able to get in and get everything I wanted. Not sure why mine didn't happen at the right time.

Finally got my excursions booked. Didn't get the Palo brunch that we wanted and the bear excursions in Ketchican is not available yet. Other than those to minor things we got the others booked with no problems. I am getting very excited. It seems like we have been waiting forever for July 12th!

I am considering getting the trolley pass. It looks like the second days is free if purchase online so we would use it on Sunday and Monday. It looks like the loop is 2 hours and you can depart as much as you like with a new trolley coming every 40 minutes. We are probably staying in Canada Place so it sounds like it would be a great way to see the sites around Vancouver without renting a car.

That is our plan too! We will be at the Pan Pacific and have two daughters 7 & 10.

Hi Patty!

I have a 7 year old daughter too. Actually she will turn 8 shortly before the cruise. Maybe we'll see you guys on the trolley or at the hotel.
