July 10, 2011--DIS PEEPS reunite on the Disney Dream!

We have a large 4x4 SUV and although it has lots of storage you can still look in and see what is there. We fly over on the 6th and we are spending our first 4 nights in Orlando but when we return from the cruise we were planning to drive straight to Sarasota for 5 nights. Maybe we should think about leaving our cases at the hotel in Orlando and making a detour. We know the hotel staff quite well Im sure it would be ok with the. Better safe than sorry I suppose! Although we would not leave our valuables I would hate to lose any other stuff and the thought of anybody rummaging through my smalls (or not so smalls!!) freaks me out

Too funny...I arrive on the 7th and after the cruise going to Sarasota for 4 days.;)

Hi,
Thank you for organizing all of this. Our stateroom number is 9047. If possible, we would like to deliver toward the beginning of the cruise. I have something everyone could possibly use.
Thanks again, Jenine

Carol and DD Destiny cabin 8679. Destiny will be turning 5 on July 11th.

We are on the same deck but opposite ends!

Great!!! I keep telling Destiny she have a friend on the cruise. She is so excited. WE have a Mickey head countdown on our door and she takes one down each night. I just can't wait until June 20th... My last day of school.

Emily's last day was June 2nd. They had to make up snow days and would have been out May 27th. When do you go back to school? Their first day back in August 10th.

One month from today we arrive in Orlando! Staying one night at Port Orleans - FQ.

That was my kid's last day. One month from today we arrive too -- staying at the Radisson at the Port (using my husband's points -- one benefit of too much corporate travel).

DD and I will be at POFQ in less than 2 weeks!:banana: An unexpected opportunity came up for me to spend my birthday at WDW and I just couldn't pass it up. So it's off to Orlando for a week, then back home for a week, then back to Orlando for Universal Studios and the cruise. :goodvibes

Is anyone one else doing Blue Lagoon??? I've been reading about safety issues and now I'm nervous. It is just the two of us. We did book through Disney so I'm sure I'm not the only one going from a boat of 3000+ people. Should I reconsider this???

We did Blue Lagoon in March -- perfectly safe. You will be walking to the boat with a group and back again. The only part that made me "icky" was walking through the little market and past the "hawkers" just keep walking and hold your daughter's hand. But you will be with a large group.

I do suggest having a bottle of water for the ride over -- it is a bit of a trip 1/2 mile walk -- 30 minute boat ride. We are taking large refillable sports bottles with us, and just refilling them (using the mandatory cup method at the drink station). We are going with us also -- doing the Sea Lion thing. Me, my sister, and 3 girls.

Do they have lockers to rent to put your stuff in? If not, what do you do with it?

They have free lockers -- take the key and no problem. It is a private island so you don't have the crime problem there. Everyone there is a guest or an employee. My kids had a blast on the beach there after the dolphin encounter. We plan on staying on the beach for a while afterwards.

HappyontheLake brought it to my attention that I had mistakenly put in my signature that my son was a DD11. He is in fact a DS11, apologies to him, Ethan. I have corrected it, but wanted everyone in the FE exchange group to know we have a daughter and a son. :bitelip:

You should have seen the look on his face when I mentioned it to Amy over coffee yesterday -- it was the "Mom, how could you?!?!?!?!" you all of us who have teens and preteens know all to well.

Amy, Sarah (DD13) and I really enjoyed meeting your family yesterday. You guys are so nice and really epitomize what Southern hospitality is all about. We can't wait until the cruise.

I know kids just don't understand! My kids always complain when I call them the wrong name. I remember getting mad at my mom for doing that to me and my sisters...and now I have turned into her! My DH had it the worst, though...my mom would sometimes slip and call him Bear...our last dog!

I am hoping to get all my FE gifts done pretty soom...the time is just flying by. We also just sold our house, so we have been pretty busy with that...our vacation is not at the most convenient time for us, but we will make it all happen. This cruise will be such a relief for us!

I do that, too! I get more attention paid to me by the dog, so I always say her name first when I mean to be addressing one of the kids.

I remember 7 years ago working on getting our house ready to put on the market right before one of our big DW trips. My DH never thought a trip to the parks would end up being such a welcome relief!

We had such a great time with y'all too! Now we have another reason to visit Austin more.:yay: Can't wait to meet your other daughters and sister. Tell Sarah, LouAnn will come out of her shell! She's just always quiet at first.

I think Sarah is planning on getting to know LouAnn pretty well by the ever popular text method -- they will be the bestest of friends by the time they get on the ship.

I will text you when we get to the port so we can make sure to meet up that way if we are in the terminal at the same time. I plan on getting Sarah and Rachel checked in to the Vibe and the Edge right after we eat lunch (and I take care of getting Palo Brunch reservations and talking to the Head Servers at the Rockin' D -- that comes first!). Then off to the Spa to get her a reservation at the Chill Spa!

Congratulations dededisney on selling your house. I know too many who are trying and can't get it done. The trip will be a great stress relief. (Hopefully for all of us).

After reading some of everybody's posts, the FE just sounds like to much work. I'm glad you're all enjoying it. Just doesn't mesh with my personality. I have enough trouble figuring out birthday and Christmas presents.

I'm hoping to spend an increased amount of time in the adult pool. I think DW and I just looked at it on our first cruise. On the second we got to spend a whole hour or two in it. I'm hoping for at least 2 two hours sessions in the peace and quite. (relatively speaking)

Anybody else catch the Navigators for the five day double dip somebody else posted?

The next few days will fly by, and we will all meet soon.

Take Care,
John
