The Space Shuttle Atlantis is scheduled to launch at 11:40 AM on July 8th. Just two days before our cruise departs. I thought some people might be interested....

Maybe it will be postponed one day. We are arriving on the 9th.

Watching the shuttle from deck 12 would be a wonderful experience. Part of me wishes the crew bon voyage, but, I can't help but hope the launch might be delayed. I have always wanted to see a launch, but the timing is never right.

Now, back to that adult beverage . . .

Anybody bringing anything special for the trip? For me, a bottle of vodka and a bottle of rum. Maybe a pirate costume. Anybody have any thoughts on the new pirate movie? I liked it.

I say that a cruise is like the fountain of youth - we sail for adventure and can, at least pretend, we are our younger selves for a few days. They do cover the mirrors on this cruise don't they?????

We can stay up late, dance, drink, sleep in the afternoon, eat what we want, do what we want, when we want. Yeah, that's it, back to college, without those anoying classes or studying. Who's with me?!! Age? Our youth is over, "What? Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!"

- Name, age and gender of the kids (again, if I don’t already have them above)
- Stateroom number
- Any special occasions you are celebrating (so we can help you celebrate!)
- Any specific days you would like to deliver or would prefer not to deliver. I won’t assign anyone to “set sail day” (Sunday) unless they specifically request it since things are a little hectic that day (Deanna - let me know if you wanted Sunday or Monday). And if anyone would like to volunteer for Thursday, please let me know. That’s our last day and any deliveries would have to be done by about 5 pm or so because people will be packing. With that being a CC day I don’t want anyone to feel rushed if I just assign them so I’d love a volunteer or two.

Now I have to go get started on my gifts!

As for the launch, I do wonder about traffic headaches if it does go off on the 10th???

As for the new pirate movie, I thought it was good not as good as the orignial or the third but a lot better than the second.

rriley25, thanks for noting it was a movie quote. It seems to be a little dangerous to quote a movie as it dates me as a man of a certain age. But, I can't help but quote from Animal House, The Princess Bride, and Young Frankenstein, and the all time best, The Godfather. Besides, those are re-run so often (with the exception of Animal House), that most people know them.

Was so excited to receive our cruise documents and luggage tags Tuesday! Not long now, I can almost smell the salty sea air.
Saw Pirates with kiddos yesterday. Not too bad, but must admit I missed the old cast. I'm not a big fan of Penelope Cruz, but she did alright. Johnny was again perfection as Jack! I kept waiting for Ian McShane (Blackbeard) to say something naughty as I was a huge Deadwood fan. Overall, it was good and my kids insist we will buy the DVD. We didn't see it in 3D, wondering if anyone else did and if it was worth it?
