Yes, I'm afraid this is our first Disney cruise

Ummm, I'm from central Jersey, my favorite Disney characters are Bambi and Alice, and my ATM pin is 5... oh wait, you were kidding? :rolleyes1

I'm super excited about our cruise however, and can't wait! I've been dying to do a Disney cruise for as long as I can remember and everything finally worked out and we'll be going in one year, four months, and two days. Wahoo!

Muhahah~ A NEWBIE!! Teach her, we must!

So Kate spilled the beans about the cruise..so I guess Rick now knows..but I told him "it is soooo long and far away!!"

Soccermom-Cheri....I first lived in Orange County up until high school (we were about 20 minutes from Disneyland). In high school, we moved up to the SF bay area to a little town called Pleasanton. Went back down to LA for college but back up north to Brentwood after college. Yes it was back and forth for a while! I really miss the weather back there, especially when we loose electricity for days on end! Where does your family live?

I grew up in Mission Viejo and Soccerdad-Chris grew up in Menlo Park/Los Altos. I went to college in Westwood/West LA. CA can't be beat - and don't listen to Betsy when she says otherwise. She likes hurricanes:laughing:

Hey...I went to UCLA...is that where you went? Of course DH went to USC, so that makes it very interesting! My oldest son likes UCLA and my youngest likes USC, so we are a very divided family! I love San Diego as well...Dh's parents lived there for a few years so we got down there quite often.

USC is a dirty word in our household. My dad (who went to UCLA, Berkeley and Stanford) said he would pay for any college EXCEPT USC. Needless to say, I did not apply there.

We'd better keep your DH and my DS apart during the cruise. Timmy had some rather ... colorful... things to say about Tommy Trojan. :cool2:

If you grew up near Anaheim, you are familiar with the Happiest Place on Earth :yay: Yay for the Original House of Mouse!!!

NEW PEEPS!! Yay--welcome, welcome, welcome.

Yeah--I can vouch for Beth. She'll fit right in with us.
(and if there weren't pictures and video I'd deny the bar dancing on the ship--I can deny it if I don't remember it right?) LOL

16 more months until we cruise...WOO HOO come on July 2011. I wanna cruise with my friends!

I am so excited..the possibility of peepdom being bestowed on me gives me goosebumps!!

When I saw it was a statue of Donald on the Dream, my first thought was something new to peer under!! And peer we will.

I am all for broadening my horizons!!!!

Sue,
There is also video of you singing "When the Sun Goes Down" from '05. And, I'm sure Beano has more that didn't make the final cuts. I think we all should be thankful for Beano's editing!

Beth- looking under Donald's coat. I see a great video shot coming! And, as you will find out, I am such a giver that I will volunteer to look with you.

Okay i'm in, and looking forward to meeting you all! This will be our third (my fourth) Disney cruise, and we will be celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary next year.

Getting ready to go on the Magic next week and then will start our Dream countdown in earnest.

:goodvibes

Shelly

Welcome welcome! :banana:More new peeps

it's now your turn to give us the basics: kids' names and ages, info on the hub, social security number :rolleyes1

Hope you have a wonderful time on :boat:my boat.

oh look! a puppy ---> :snail:

So, I finally went back and read all the posts! So far our plans are to go to WDW for a week before the cruise (we have a Marriott timeshare so are hoping to trade into one of the Orlando ones). Our whole family loves Disney and we try to do WDW at least every other year. This summer we are going out to Calif. and will be visiting California Adventure thanks to GAD! My youngest is finally able to ride all the rides, so that will be so much nicer not having to do the child swap.

I saw that Sue Ellen, you have an embroidery machine. I have one as well, but it frustrates me so much! I start to embroider a name or something and the thread keeps breaking. I have only pulled it out a few times b/c I can't seem to get it right! The last thing I did was embroider names for our F/E for our XMAS cruise in 2008! If you know a secret, let me know!!

Since many of you already know each other, you know all the kids ages, but I'm just curious as to the ages of any kids that will be on the ship. LIke I said, my two boys will be 12 and turning 9 on the ship. Hopefully they'll find some kids to hang out with!

What is GAD? When are you coming to CA? I live about 45 minutes from Disneyland:woohoo:

Both RonnieJo and I (ok and the hubs too) will be celebrating her DD's and my DS's high school graduation! I also have a DD who will be 13 at cruise time.

GAD is the Give a Day promotion. We each made a blanket for Project Linus so we all earned a ticket to Disney! Since WDW has Magic Kingdom, we thought we would go back to Calif. Adventure since we haven't been there for quite some time. My younger son and I are going up to the bay area on June 22 and then we will drive down to Palm Springs (my parents live there) with my sister around July 1. My DH and older son will be flying out to So. Calif. on July 3 so we'll be in So Cal until July 13. Our plan is to do Calif. Adventure on July 12, but we may upgrade our tickets to a 2 day and do Disneyland on the 11. We'll see how that goes.

Wow, high school graduation! I can't even begin to fathom that. Are you starting to look at colleges now and does your DS have one he really wants to go to? I have told my boys I don't care where they go, as long as it is warm there...so I can get out of the cold winter here to visit them.

Oh, and my cousins lived in Mission Viejo...we went there all the time (while we were living in Placentia).
