Hi Everyone! Apologies if this question or a similar form of this question has already been asked!

We're from Canada and thinking of visiting in July 2017.

It's our 2nd attempt visiting Disneyland. Unfortunately, our 1st attempt in 2014 was full of difficulties. We never made it to Disneyland on our arrival day as we ended up taking our 2 year old son to the Hospital Emergency. I ended up staying in most of the week with our son and only made it to Disneyland near the end. My husband and our 8 year old daughter had limited hours in the parks since my husband returned several times during the day to help "dose" our son with medicine (it took 2 people to "dose" him because he struggled and kept spitting out the medicine). Needless to say it was some pretty stressful times.

Therefore, thanks in advance for your thoughts and opinions on the following matter. We're hoping to choose the "best" days for our visit which we hope will be less eventful than our previous trip.

July 4, 2017 will be a Tuesday.

1) Please share your personal experiences and knowledge of what we may expect (ie. Crowd size, closures etc.) for the weekend and the Monday (July 1 - 3) preceding the July 4 holiday.

2) Do you think it might be wiser for us to visit Disneyland AFTER the July 4 holiday (ie. from July 5 onwards)?

Thanks again for your help!

We recently have not stayed at DLR for 4th of July but a few years ago we noticed MOST of the day was not too crowded but as evening came thus the crowds got bigger! Probably to see the fireworks show! We heard last years holiday was not very crowded SO....... WE will be staying @ VGC from July 3rd - 5th 2017!!!
The crowds could change but we're willing to take a chance!

Sometimes I've heard that mid to late August is a okay time to go!

Hope you enjoy your time @ DLR whenever you choose! :flower3:

Just a guess but with the 4th being a Tuesday I'm betting a LOT of people will take the Monday off too and the parks with be JAM PACKED. I'd go after the 4th for sure. I'd bet the crowds will be greatly lower the 5th to the 10th than they would be the 1st to the 4th.

As a Canadian that has went 4 times in the summer, I would definitely go after July 5th. I don't fine July too bad at all, and August does seem to be better but I really find if you can avoid major holidays it does seem to help.
