Julie's continual struggle (WW thread - comments VERY welcome!!)

Yes, Cam, the SF Mint Milanos are like the real thing. Gotta keep them hidden from me.

My problem now is that Albertsons had many things 10/$10 including pillsbury cookie dough (which we eat raw in my house). Unfortunately DS16 opened Triple Chocolate and I ate one today. I could easily consume the package and it is sitting open in my fridge!!! YIKES!!!! Fortunately, DD has fencing tonight so I"ll be out of the house and probably not really having dinner.

Lunch was roll up 4 and cookie dough (3) It's really 4 pts, but I always give a bite to the 103 lb lab.

DS19 came over yesterday to show his friend's friend (who was the guitarist for Sublime) the drum sets. He told me that by Friday he will decide if he is moving back home (lease is up the 31) and also that he hopes to be back in school next semester. Growing up???? NAH!!!!!!

I returned stuff to Target, went to Albertsons - mainly to get raincheck on GG froz vegs - I love the broccoli /rf cheddar on potatoes and they were $10/$10 for the big bags, too, Dollar tree and Family Dollar. Also Post Office and to return DS16s DVD. At Dollar Tree they had the neatest little exercise/diet journals. Long/narrow with a little rubber band thing to hold shut or hold your place. Spiral bound with exercise motif on cover. I bought some to use instead of the $5 WW ones. I can write it down instead of check boxes.

Almost done with Ebay for the day, just need to finish a few and take a couple of pictures.

I'll try to catch up more later.

Wow! Sounds like a super busy day yesterday! I think I need a nap just reading about it.

Put me down as another one who loves those sf mint milanos! They taste exactly like the real thing and are so light that I don't notice that I've eaten 9 of them :rolleyes1

I hope you have a great day today and stay out of the clutches of the evil cookie dough!

Keep up the great work! :cheer2:

Today will be another busy one. Up at 5:15 with puppies, make breakfasts, pack lunches, did WATP 4 mile, organized addresses for mailing ebay today, about to pull and package the stuff. Dentist at 11, then post office, Grocery to get Pepsi on sale (5 12 pks $10 +$5 rebate - I only buy when it's $2 or less), home to list ebay, then take DD to DH for fencing. Somewhere in there I need to pick up some, pay bills and MAYBE shave my legs.

Today is liquid day, so that's a no brainer. Off to start the running...

Change of plan. I have been giving WW a lot of thought - I'm having a rough time going - just doing WI and leaving. So, when I got a card in the mail good until late Oct that is rejoin Free, I began thinking I will give WW a break and just do it on my own until then, then rejoin. Saving $16/week won't hurt, either. I want to rejoin, as I'd like to reach lifetime, but right now not being able to go isn't good. Lately everytime I go and just WI it is costing me $48!

So, with the help of all of you, I'm on a WW meeting break. I will still to the plan as I know it works for me over time, and I will still WI, just at home, on Thurs. officially. I will also post my daily weight, just to keep me accountable. So, HELP!!!!!!!! I know I can do this with all of you there beside me.

Dentist was NOT fun!! I have one tooth that lost a piece of filling recently. I have a crown that got chipped after he crowned the one under it and the porcelain is coming off. Right now it's about 1/2 1/2. When she was cleaning the one next to it, it felt like something was wedged in between. Yet, the one behind it, the white filling (which is most of the tooth) has a chunk loose and I need to get a porcelain inlay??? All on 9/7 to the tune of over $230 (my part, total would have been almost $900). I HATE DENTISTS!!!

I have my physical at the GP on Friday. I sure hope it goes better. After that I'll schedule my Gyn.

After all the dentist, I'm just not up to liquid today. I've had 2 slimfast and a cookie(9) and I'll probably have a baked potato later today w/ veggies on it. My mouth is really sore. I've had 64 oz water and 32 oz cf diet coke.

I'm waiting for a call back from the principal of the cyber academy. I finally got ahold of her and she said she'd call right back - half an hour ago. I'm really confused about the need to test him. I talked to his supervisor again and she said it was because they don't know the curriculum he uses ....well, he uses Keystone, which is used by Penn Cyber, which is who the RR Cyber Academy contracts this thru. So, do they not accept their own credits???
And, she said it was a placement test to decide what classes he should take, but then said he could start school as soon as he took the test, but....according to the principal, classes have to be ordered (true) and books shipped in from Pennsylvania. This is not instantaneous. So, either they are feeding me a line, or they just don't know what they are doing. I'm quite frustrated with the whole deal.

Hi Julie,

I hope this situation with the cyber academy works out very soon. Sending some :wizard: your way.

Your WISH friends are here cheering you on, Julie! :cheer2: You CAN do this!!! :cheer2:

Have a wonderful day today! :sunny:

What a busy life you lead. I will help remind you of your weigh ins to keep you accountable.

Hope that things work out with the cyber school. Your frustration is very understandable.

Hope today is a good one. ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

Up and moving. WI - 170.

Breakfast kashi & yogurt (4) Did the 3 Mi WATP abs. I'm going to take the dogs for a walk in a bit - their new stroller came yesterday.

The Cyber academy gets stranger.....called to leave a message for the principal and she answered. Probably good as I'm sure I was nicer in person than I had planned in the message since she had not returned my calls. Anyway, she says it was a blanket mandate that all homeschooled kids be tested as they have "no idea what they're doing" and "the homeschooled kids probably don't know anything". I proceeded to explain that not all homeschoolers are 'imbeciles' and that John is technically no longer homeschooled, all of his credits are from the very school they are contracting to use. She then asked if he "came close to passing most of his classes" and there was dead silence when I told her she had the transcript and his lowest grade was a 93. Then she proceeded to tell me they need John to have the local TV follow him for a day ....school, work, gym, social life.... to show what an advantage it is to a teen to attend cyber school. When I did not readily agree, she quickly told me that John won't need to be tested, that he doesn't even need to go thru the training, she can probably just get him a password and he can do it on his own "if he chooses". I was still noncommittal. Then she begins questioning me on how I was able to find out what schools are NCAA accredited and how schools become NCAA accredited, and if I thought they would be! AMAZING!!!!!!!! So, Friday she is going to call me or I'm to call her to get John a password. All I want is free school since it's the same as he's doing now, and a NM diploma so if he decides to not do gym in college he has his tuition pd thru the lottery scholarship for 4 years.

I need to get ebay done quickly today (and finish what I didn't from yesterday) so I can begin digging out and pricing for the gym garage sale. I have to drop the stuff off Friday evening, then be back pre-dawn on Saturday. Hopefully some stuff of ours will sell so his account gets a bit more in it.

More later....

It is really ridiculous that you have to deal with people that act like you are hurting your child's education and then to treat you with so much disrespect. I am not sure I would let the cameras follow my kid around after that conversation. It almost sounds like a I will scratch your back if you scratch mine. The nerve of some people. I thought they were a school and this is their program, so they should be willing to do what it takes to get things squared away.

How frustrating. Hopefully, you can get the password without much trouble.

Good luck. ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

Good luck with following WW at home. You are saving money but the discipline part and the accountability is the tough one. That is why this board is so great for me! I feel accountable here. Anyway, just think of all the healthy food you can buy with the $16 a week! :flower:

Took the dogs in their stroller up to the park. They really like going where there is grass to lay and roll in. It is 10 minutes all up steep hill - yes, I was breathing HARD when we got there. We played for a while, then walked all around the park and back down hill to home.

Lunch was flat out w/ ff cheese in my quesadilla maker w/ mango salsa (4) Chips (2).

I'm on my 2nd 32 oz water now, pups are napping and I'm doing ebay.

Hi Julie!!

I hope that you are doing well as a WISH Watcher!! hehe I think if you feel you can still get the support & accountability you need elsewhere then save that cash from WW. If you find it is not working you know you can go back. Sorry to hear about the chaos with DS16's Cyber school, I must admit though I find it all fascinating. I had not known such a thing existed, sounds like an awesome thing to me. :)

Glad to get caught up with you!! Keep up that great exercise and your plan, you are doing so well! :goodvibes

Have a happy night!
Mike

Calena & Mike - I'm gonna give this a try, only til mid October. Having to find time to go to WW was giving me more stress than it was worth, and then not having time to stay for meetings was losing the support. I just need to take a break, but I already have it on my calendar that I'm going back on 10/13, and I'm going back a smaller me!

Mike - if you get a chance, look up www.keystonehighschool.com or www.laurelsprings.com Laurel Springs is in CA and is where I wanted John to go - only too pricey. They even have a prom that kids fly in for.

Lesli - You scratch my back, I'll scratch yours ..is EXACTLY what I thought, too! Not exactly the way I tend to operate.

DD got off the bus, called me on her cell to tell me she was almost home and I needed to get stuff ready for fencing. Left in a hurry, drove her 20+ miles each way to fencing, got there and ......NO fencing today.... she forgot. Then we had rush hour traffic home. Get home and she has homework that she realizes is in her science folder, locked in the cabinet in the sci room at school. Hard lesson learned. Not a good night for her.

So, I grabbed a 2 pt sandwich on the way to fencing, then had some of her chips (4) and then a no pudge (2). I might have something else before bed as I'm getting bloodwork done at 9 and it has to be fasting. Hopefully my Dr. appt will go better than my Dentist.

DH is finally on his way home at 8:30 p.m. He has been in closed door meetings all week about layoffs. He's going to have to do some and they are people he knows, likes and who have been with the company all over 15 years. NOT easy.

When he finally arrives he and DS have to load our Pommel Horse in the van as I'm selling it . It weighs EASILY 300 lbs. I'm not sure how we are really going to do it. Then tomorrow I have to bake cookies for DD's pool party for choir and tag all my stuff for the gym garage sale. At least someone I know already wants the horse for $100. I just want it out of my garage!

More tomorrow. I'm still trying to catch up ebay and will try to hit a few journals.

Wow! Lots going on for you! I hope the next couple of days go smoothly for you.

I feel bad for your poor DH--that's got to be a really hard position for him to be in. Best of luck to him!

I'm sorry to hear of your frustrations with the cyber school! I hope that all gets sorted quickly!

Good luck at the doctor today!

WT= 170 WT at DR. clothes/shoes = 174.

It took me over 1.25 hours to make what was normally a 30 min drive to the Dr. I left home way early and arrived late. BP was high - I am a terrible white coat syndrome, plus traffic, so I have to record for a month and go back. At home it was 116/76 there was 154/98. Very typical for me. Dr was running late, then they couldn't get blood from me - duh ....small veins, scar tissue, and hadn't had any liquid since about 8 last night and it was now 10 a.m. So, they prodded and poked and finally sent me a few blocks away to a lab to do it. Finished up there at 10:45 from an 8:30 appt. Dr also made me make an appt for my ankle - I'm going to do it the same day I go back to my internist in a month. I really can't do anything about it til next summer, anyway, as it's my driving foot, and I need to be able to use it during travel season.

So, I ran thru starbucks (6) and to the VW dealer to get the plugs put in they left out when it was in for repairs in May. That, plus after the recall on my convertible top we noticed a loose flap. So, what should have been 10 minutes, 2 hours later they were trying to remember what happened that the plugs were out. 30 more minutes. "Oh, your top needs a kit to repair, we don't have it, and it will take 4.5 hours + when we get it in." So, another 30 min and I'm finally headed home. It is now 1:30, all I've had all day is coffee, and I need to bake cookies, pull and mark all my stuff for the Garage Sale, get dinner, drop DD at the pool party(with cookies) and get my GS stuff to the gym by 6.

But, here I sit between cookie trays on the computer. Hopefully I won't burn anything ;)

Grabbed 2 slices turkey and 2 lt bread and a handful of salt & pepper chips for lunch(5). If I can't talk DH into going out to dinner, I'm not eating , and I'm NOT cooking! It will just be he and I as DS16 is working after gym and DD has her party. He'll likely want to go to the buffet at the casino so he can play blackjack. Oh well..... salad bar and fish for me.

Later when I can breathe! I gotta go get water as all I've had to day is 20 oz decaf and I'm THIRSTY!!

Hey Julie. Sorry to hear that the Dr's visit wasn't so great. Next time, make sure you get in plenty of water before they do the blood work. Fasting for bloodwork does allow for drinking of water. I have smaller veins that like to hide. Both DH (used to be on the ambulance team years ago) and an excellent nurse told me that I should drink alot of water right before going in to get my blood drawn, it helps to pump up the blood vessels making things easier on you. They tell older patients the same thing since it is harder to draw from them. It does seem to help some. Although it would help more if they didn't have to use a needle. ;)

Hope you can figure out the dinner situation.

Have a good evening. ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

Thanks for the links Julie! Both are very interesting, I will def give them a deeper look. I hope that you had a great day, sounds like there was a lot going on!!! If you can, I hope you have a relaxing weekend!

Mike :goodvibes

Hi Julie! Just wanted to drop in and wish you a good weekend. I'm guess you guys are getting the same heat we are getting...late Aug. always kills me!!!

Hope the cookies and pool party go well!

What a weekend!

I stayed away from the cookies for DD's party. We dropped her off, took the stuff to the gym and unloaded and went to the casino. DH decided we didn't have time to eat as he wanted to play blackjack. I had 6 12 oz bottles of water, spent $20 on penny slots and walked laps around the casino for over an hour. When we left I got a hot chocolate (all drinks are free). At least I got some walking in. DH won about $70.

The dogs were crated too much on Friday with my Dr and car episode, and then the casino, so they wanted up about every 90 min all night. I left home for the GSale at about 5:30. On a hunch stopped by WalMart and no DS19 working - Sun I discovered my suspicions were right, he 'quit' - he says 2 wks ago, but I know it was before the motorcycle problem with DS16 as I did a WMart run one night late and he wasn't working. I walked, stood and loaded stuff for people for about 7 hours. Got sunburned and exhausted. Had a lettuce wedge from Lone Star for lunch and ordered salad which DH picked up for dinner (before he went to another casino - I feel a problem brewing) This time he lost about $190. UGH!!! Finally got to bed around 10:30 totally wiped out.

Yesterday I had trouble getting water in. Breakfast was chips (5), lunch was a yucky salad from peter piper pizza and 1 slice of pepperoni (10). No dinner.
Went to DS19's where his roomie proceeded to tell me off. DS19 has to be out of apt by 1st and has no where to go, but won't come home. says he'll stay with friends a night here, a night there. The good roomie, who has had seizures off & on since being stationed in Korea, just got into some kind of hospital in CA so is moving for some tests/treatment, so there is now no phone to get in touch w/ DS19 with. Needless to say I'm stressed to the max.

Just caught up on ending auctions. Did my 4 mile WATP and ate 2 ww tortillas w/ egg beaters & ff chz. Need to get major picking up done as no one did anything while I was gone all of saturday.

I'll try to catch up some tonight.

Haven't weighed, but will in the morning. I feel really bloated and my fingers even seem swollen. Too much outside heat combined with the ever slow to come/slow to go TOM I'm still awaiting.

Hi Julie - what a weekend...I got tired just reading about it! Hope your weigh in is good!

Sorry to hear that you are stressing about your DD19 again. I wish I could tell you that it will all work out soon, but I think he is going to go through some hard knocks before he comes to realize that his way is not the best way to live. I have a brother that did the same thing a number of times and spent quite a bit of time catching a night here and there at a friend's house. It's tough. But you have to remember that you did everything in your power that you could do and he knows that. Now the rest is up to him.

Sending :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: your way to help you relieve some of the stress.

I hope today is much better for you. ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo
