Julie's continual struggle (WW thread - comments VERY welcome!!)

I'm so glad the job question for your DH is settled! That must be such a relief!

Also glad to hear the scale is moving again. You've stuck it out through a lot of stress! Hopefully some calm and routine are coming your way now.

Keep up the great work!!

Life has been incredibly hectic with school starting, puppy, ebay, etc....

I've just spent 2.5 hours trying to merge fencing, gymnastics, choir and life schedules from now til December - and I'm not done yet!!! UGH!!!!

Yesterday we finally got the Cyber School situation resolved for DS16. He will be able to school through the Cyber School/local HS in the same format he is using now. In fact, they use Keystone (his current school) for the upper level math, science/tech classes. Best of all it's not $369/class, it's FREE!!!!!!!!!

I'm so behind on everything this past week that I feel like I"ll never catch up. Gotta listen to my words .....ONE day at a time.

Food has been ok - I've been on the go so much I haven't recorded, but I've stayed conscious of what I'm eating most of the time. Water has been better. Yesterday I actually found time to formally exercise - did the Christian 2 mi WATP. Not much, but it's a start. When DS16 leaves for work/gym, I'll do another WATP, not sure which one.

DH has decided he needs to lose weight....REALLY???? So, as is typical, he has decided to only eat once a day, at night. NOT smart, not healthy, but he knows best. Oh well.....

Time to try to get more done.... More later......

Julie!

I start back next Monday, the kids come for meet your teacher day next Wednesday, and school officially starts next Thursday! I can't believe it's already here!

I understand about merging schedules! Oh my goodness!

Keep up your great work!

I'm FINALLY caught up on some journals!! YEAH!!!!

I'm off to exercise in a few and then to reevaluate some things I need to change/get done.

Breakfast a small banana w/ rf peanut butter (3).

Ok, I did the 2 mile WATP for Abs. Back on track.

Things I need to do:

1. take my vitamins
2. take my revival so these annoying night sweats/hot flashes go away
3. Make appt for my annual gyn visit
4. Make a Dr. appt or cardio appt as I'm almost out of my last refill of Lipitor
I haven't been to a cardio since we moved here 4.5 years ago. I
loved my cardio in KS and know I can't replace him. I have no problem,
just a bad family history ....everything so far is just preventative and I
want to keep it that way.
5. make sure I exercise at least 4 - 5x week
6. drink my water
7. sign up for fall semester Bible Study. I've never done this, but want to.
We've moved around so much & been so busy I've never had time to make
friends. At 45, IT IS TIME!!!!
8. Consistently get Ebay done - this year's sports travel is gonna be a killer!
9. Work on thoroughly cleaning 1 room in my house each week.

I'm sure I'll come up with more, but enough at a time.......

This year's travel for gym & fencing is gonna be a doozy.

Oct - TX - twice
CO
Dec - Phx
Jan - OK
PA
Feb - CT
NV
CO
Mar - TX - twice
April - Phx
TX
WY
May - MI
June/July - GA

Plus anything either coach wants to add at the last minute.

I sure hope not!

More later......

I haven't been out east, except for this trip to DC since ...... 1976. YIKES!!!
My mom was from upstate NY and we used to go out there every summer.

Where east are you?

Today was OP. I'm incredibly tired and almost fell asleep while waiting for DD at fencing. The drive home was not fun.

Lunch was a quesadilla made from flat out bread & ff chz, and mango salsa. I had a 2 pt sandwich on the way to fencing. Back home I had 4 shrimp, 3 tater tots and 1 pizza roll (5) and then ice cream (2). Had most of my 'water' in decaf iced tea, but had 32 oz in water - 64 in tea. Not too bad.

Today Dsis had her last Chemo and got her picc line removed. She was going to spend the rest of the day in the shower as it has been almost 6 months since she could get in the shower. Now 4 weeks off, then 6 weeks of radiation.

I have 2 more things to get listed for Ebay, then off to bed. I'm hoping to catch up a bit tonight. DS16 worked from 10:30 - 2, had gym from 3 - 7, and is working from 7:30 - close (about 11 - midnight). Oh, to be young and have energy again.

Tomorrow's plan is to exercise early, then pull & package ebay. I'll mail stuff when I drop DD with DH for fencing. Then list tomorrow night.

My room for the week is the upstairs hallway bathroom - aka the catchall room for DD and DS16's barber shop. I figure I'll start small and hopefullly will actually get it completely done.

The other thing that I did not put on my earlier list is that I MUST go to an orthopedic surgeon and get my ankle/foot fixed. I had my ankle completely rebuilt in 1976 and it was experimental surgery - they only gave me a 50% chance of ever walking again. I have rolled it numerous times since and literally there is now a 'screw loose'. It hurts most of the time - like knives inside it and sometimes when the 'screw' moves to the wrong spot, I can't put weight on it at all. I'm terrified of going to the Dr as I know it will mean surgery and I really don't have time to be unable to walk, drive (right foot) etc. But the big thing is that in 1994 after a car accident where I broke my hand, I had surgery and the narcotics given before and during surgery shut down my central nervous system 24 hours post op and almost killed me. I'm TERRIFIED of it happening again, as they never determined which drugs did it or if it was just and interaction and that my body wasn't eliminating them.

Amazingly, my ankle is worst not when I'm exercising(walking) but when I'm DRIVING a lot. Sometimes I go to get out of the car and it can't support me at first.

BUT...... I need to do this before I get too much older or it will be worse recovery. So, I have to get up my courage....... Not easy for me.

Ok, I'm multitasking and now have 1 thing left to list. Best run so I can get some sleep. More tomorrow!

Hey! Look me up if your fencing schedule takes you to Austin! It's generally cooler her by Oct.

It's hard, but make the doctor's appointment. You'll be glad you did in the long run. Actually, I need to take my own advice here; it's time for me to get a check up again too.

Have a good Wed. :)

Ok, the first DR appt is made - physical on 8/25. Will call the Gyn later. That will be a harder to get appt as I don't want to see a nurse pract. this time. With my sisters recent bout of breast cancer, I'd rather see the Dr.
Probably silly, but.....

Today is liquid day - so far 2 slim fast, 1/2 c decaf & water. Off to get some decaf tea.

Almost done packaging the ebay, need to mail pkgs, run to groc & Sams, and I'd like to hit the sale at Mervyns. If I don't make it, oh well.

Christin - gymnastics is most likely to take me to Austin - or more correctly Pflugerville. Been there a bunch. If I make it, I'll let you know. We can have lunch!

Off to start the errands. DH is doing the fencing run tonight, so I'll get my listing done then.

Hi Julie!

It is good that you are taking care of yourself...I don't think that it is silly at all! I am sure that everything is fine....but here some :wizard: anyway!

You are doing a great job, keep it up

Just back from the Groc. and unloaded. I decided to skip Mervyns and exercise FIRST. If I have time after I drop DD I will go to the mall. Did the 4 mi WATP - fortunately before the clouds broke and it got HOT in here.

So far I've had 2 slim fast + 1 Revival soy (8) I'll have another SF and then KEVA the rest of the night.

OUCH!!!! I stopped for my KEVA and they had a new one, which I ordered and promptly inhaled. Then I came home and discovered it has NINE points!!!! My normal has 5. Oh well, I won't drink the other one I bought and that will be it for the night. It was incredibly yummy, tho - KEVASICLE - tasted like and orange dreamsicle. Only 1.8 g fat, so must be pure sugar. Oh well..... I won't do that again!

I'm still 2 pts under for the day, so I will have my 2 pts in peanut butter before bed so my blood sugar stays up.

Off to get Ebay listing done.

I agree that it's good that you are making those doc appointments and taking care of yourself. And BRAVO that your sis is done with chemo!!!! That had to be a very exciting day for her. I remember the first time that mom was on chemo and she finished her round. I don't think I had heard her literally that happy in a long time!!! It was definitely a day of celebration for her. And she said the best week of sleep she had had in a long time.

Keep on

Well, yesterday was............AWFUL!!!!!!!

Wednesday I weighed myself and was still down a pound from last time I was at WW 3 wks ago. I did liquid all day Wed as usual, which usually makes me drop a little. So yesterday I got busy in the morning and almost missed WW - literally got there as the last person was leaving. I quickly donned my WW WI outfit and ran over, without weighing and had gained THREE pounds. So I am now up a total for SEVEN from before Florida. I was SO DEPRESSED!!!!!! I've stayed OP, but have gained. I know it's likely hormonal and water, but......

So, I did the WRONG thing. Came home ravenous....made 2 quick 2 pt sandwiches and left to run errands with 32 oz decaf tea. That was good. Then when I got home, tired & depressed, I had ice cream for lunch - a PINT! Then the sweet triggered the need for salty...... TGIF's baked potato chips.......then the salty sweet....... a twix bar......Then I got control. Dinner was rf peanut butter and lt bread. This is my mind set..... I'm gaining w/o eating, why not eat? UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And except for shopping I got in no exercise yesterday.

Thankfully, today is a new day. How many times have I started over on this journey? Oh well..... I must continue......

Hi Julie!
Yes today is a new day!!

and you sound like me - I have a WI outfit too!! Hope you have a great start to your weekend!

Amen, sister! In fact, if someone wanted to save the time reading my journal, they could just read that and get the gist of it!

Good job stopping yourself and regrouping yesterday. I'm sorry you were disappointed at WI--it's so hard going in there expecting good news and getting blindsided! I know you're right that it's just water and hormones and will be gone soon!

Take care of yourself and have a great weekend!!!

Keep up the good work!

You're one busy lady. You're doing a great job exercising - something I need to start doing.

Take care of yourself!

Today was a better day.

I was still not as on track as I should be, but better is a start.

Breakfast and lunch were TGIF's cheeto like things. Salt cravings galore..... (10pts)

Dinner was Sweet Tomatoes. Salad (3) veggie soup (1) and then apple cobbler (6).

The soup was incredibly salty, on top of all the cheeto things I had, and I'm dying of thirst tonight. I need to drink more water like I used to, but not this way.

Exercise today was taking DH shoe shopping. NOT fun!! Finally found him a pair that was $50 - the pairs he liked were all $100+ and I just won't pay that. Of course, he can't wait for a sale. HO HUM!!!!

I decided today that I need to get outside and walk the dogs - so I bought a doggie stroller! It will be here next week. Hopefully they will both like it. If not, I'll walk the cat!!

The weather here is really seeming like fall, but too early. This morning was 58 and only about 83 this afternoon. I love the climate here most of the time. From now until about Christmas we'll be in the 50's at night and the upper 60 - 80s day. Hopefully we'll get a bit more rain before the monsoons leave - we've not had much this year - then it will be dry for a long time.

I've been totally exhausted the last 2 weeks - most of my food/exercise problem - so I'd best get to bed. I'm too tired to concentrate on Ebay so will have to finish tomorrow. Hopefully DH will take DD to fencing so I can get some work done and some exercise done tomorrow.

Have a good weekend all!!
