Julie's continual struggle (WW thread - comments VERY welcome!!)

Good Morning, All!!

Just a quick hi before I go package a kazillion ebay items.

Did my WATP 4 mile! Breakfast, kashi go lean crunch, lt yogurt & fresh blueberries mixed (4.5)

More later this evening!

Well, I didn't get on last night....did you notice????

This morning same as yesterday - did my 4 mi WATP. Breakfast is Kashi, lt yogurt & fresh blueberries (4.5)

Yesterday I ended up using 2 AP's. Took my friend to lunch at a new Chinese place - right between Baskin Robbins & the Pet store! But I didn't have the time to walk it and it was 97. Plus, my tiny blister on my heel apparently got infected and OOZED all day yesterday. A bit better today.

So, Lunch was 4 bites hot sour soup (I only like the tofu and the broth w/o the floaties), 1 veggie egg roll, the veggies out of cashew chicken (I only ever eat about 2 - 4 pieces of the chicken, but like the sauce flavor) and about 2/3 c veggie fried rice (14.5 pts .....OUCH!!) Dinner was a turkey sub.

I can't hardly eat the chicken in chinese b/c of a Weird Al song (you can download it online) "The cat's in the kettle" , and one of the chinese restaurants in the little town I grew up in really did raise cats in the kitchen .....you can guess why.

I would have been on last night, but my photo editing program for my ebay was acting up and kept crashing my computer. Hopefully it is all better now.

Today is dentist for me at noon - I finally get my inlay, ebay, pay bills, and hopefully clean house. People will actually be home for dinner tonight so I have to come up with something. Not sure what.

Have a great day everyone!

WHAT A DAY!!!

No breakfast as I had to go to the bus stop/park to try to find DD's necklace she dropped. I did find it.

Then to Sams to fill the van. $2.61, but they guy was raising to $2.68 @ 7:30 a.m. and $2.82 @ 3:30 p.m. Stopped to grab a cf diet coke and see how much discount was on my tank bank card. Home to get the bug, back to top it off, then to Albertson's. 4 gas stations here are out of unleaded and aren't scheduled to get more til Monday (from TX) so might not.

Bought a bunch of 'stock up' stuff, walked several laps around the store.

Got home and DS16 presented me with his new competition travel schedule. That made me REALLY depressed due to fuel prices, etc:

1/14-15 - the meet we host here
1/19-21 - Allentown, PA
2/3 - 5 - Las Vegas
2/10 - 12 - Phoenix (we might be able to drive this one depending on if I find
cheap fares
2/24 - 26 - Austin ...I'm coming Christin!!
3/10 - 12 - Houston
4/7 - 9 - Salt Lake City area
5/3 - 8 - Battlecreek Michigan

Then add in all of DD's fencing competitions which I haven't even scheduled past December.

Maybe I should just file bankruptcy now!!

So, after this is dropped on me, I start unloading the car, being careful not to put meats on the floor where the dogs were. Well, apparently there was meat in 1 bag w/ frozen vegs. I couldn't find the dogs....finally found Mia...devouring a pound of raw stew beef! She ate almost 1/2 pound. Then, 3 hours later I had massive carpet clean up, so she is now locked in the Kitchen for the night.

After all this, I'm wiped out and wanted to eat everything in site. So, to be safe, I took a nap. Phone rang 5 times, but at least I was away from food.

Didnt' eat all day. Dinner was beef roast, potato, cooked onion and pasta/veg mix. (13). Don't know if I'll have anything else or not today. I want to eat Sweets, so may eat nothing.

Had to bathe Mia, then Max is terrified of any comb/brush and my synthetic carpet fiber is making his fur mat, so I shaved him. Poor little naked puppy!

Tonight I must do the ebay I've needed to all day. I didn't get to last night as DD had tons of homework she had been procrastinating on and tied up the computer.

Tomorrow when DH takes DD to fencing I WILL EXERCISE!!!
Sunday DD has a choir Car wash all day.

My weekend will be cleaning house and Ebay. I have tons of pics to take of Men/boy stuff. It's not as fun as girls, so I procrastinate.

More later.....

Hi Julie!

Just wanted to send some :goodvibes and :wizard: your way for the weekend ahead. I hope you are able to accomplish everything on your to do list and find some Julie time as well. :goodvibes

Take care!

WHAT A DAY INDEED Julie!!!
I am proud of you for holding it all together! That is a lot to have to do and deal with at once. :)
I know you will have a great day today!!

Mike :goodvibes

Well, I'm beginning to think that if my life ever gets calm or predictable I'll either be dead or dying, so I guess I'll just keep plugging along.

Breakfast was egg beaters, 2 ww tortillas & ff chz (4). Lunch was the leftover pasta & vegs(6). Dinner, now at almost 8 p.m. is a lt EM w/ lt pb and J (5).

Last night, after the kids were almost in bed, DH asked me when I'd last seen Gossie (our 15.5 yr old deaf, blind poodle who lives outside and on the sunporch). Well, sometime between DS16 feeding her on Thurs night and last night, she curled up in the doghouse and died. She was DS19's 4th birthday present. Sad, but not unexpected.

Then I couldn't sleep as I was dreading having to tell DS19 as she was the one consistent thing he showed care for. So, I watched RITA make landfall and finally slept around 2:30 a.m. Up at 6:30 w/ the dogs.

I was planning on exercising while DD was at fencing, but I got tied up on the computer changing reserv. for car/hotel for FL, starting to look for travel deals for Gym season, and trying to get DS16 psychology to submit (they're having server trouble) and they were home before I got the chance.

While they were gone, DS19 briefly came over, bringing back his printer. I told him about his dog, & he sat & played his guitar a while and he and his friend left. As he was leaving he mentioned that his car still hadn't gotten towed to where he was staying (friend told me he had towed it last week).

So, when DH got home, we took a drive to FIND the car. I had an idea where it was, but not positive. Tried to start it, no luck. Had to go home to get jumper cables. Tried to jump, nope. Sent DH to buy a battery, went back to try that, still nothing. It tries to turn over, but can't. I think it really is the fuel pump. Just our luck he is 2k over the warranty, and it is a fuel pump located inside the gas tank so will be between $400-$700 to replace.

Back home, it is now after 6 p.m. While DH was off to buy the battery DS19 appears again, with more stuff. When I ask what he is doing, he says he is likely moving in. Leaves very soon after and says he'll be back later. hmmmmmm.....

I tell DH and he (who is turning quickly into a stodgy old man) begins a very rigid list of rules and regulations. Beginning with DS19 is not allowed to hang anything on walls, is not allowed to be in the house when we aren't home, will have his room 'inspected' for cleanliness, etc. UGH!!! He needs to follow some rules, but he needs to feel like this is his home as well. This could turn into a disaster.

So, life for me is normal.

Monday I go back to the Dr. to have my BP rechecked. Praying it will be better for him. I take it regularly here, and it is low normal. Then I go to the other Dr. about my ankle - something I have put off for way too long.
I will have to leave home by about 7:30 in order to make it through traffic, and won't get back until likely nearing 11. So, much of Monday will be gone.
UGH!!

DD has fencing Mon night, so another trip back down to take her to DH. Some days I live in my car.

Tomorrow I've got to get a LOT of ebay done and must finish those pictures! DD will be at a choir car wash all day, DS16 has to write a research paper ( but only 5-6 pages) on the Weapons of Feudal Japan. DH needs to shampoo some more carpet after Mia's meat mess. Hopefully I will get some much needed things accomplished.

Off to Ebay and hopefully hit a few journals!

Awww Julie!
Sorry to hear that you had another one of "those" days!!! So sorry about Gossie's passing too!!! I hope that DS19's moving home becomes a good thing for him and your entire family. I am sure it will be rocky at the start so I'll be pulling for you all!

Hope you have a happy & healthy tomorrow!

Hi Julie!!!!

Just wanted to stop in and say hi!!! Hope all is well.

Have a great night!

Seems like forever since I've had time to post!

Sunday was a blur, but I think I got quite a bit done. Not everything on my list, but a bunch. DD was at the car wash from 9 - 3 and came home sunburned. DUH!!!!

DS16 finished his last research paper for World History. Then had DH help him put neon lights on his cycle. DH - you know, the Electrical Engineer - blew the fuses on DS16's cycle as he couldn't figure out how to wire the lights. DH pouted most of the day as he didn't get to go to the casino this weekend. UGH!!!

I managed to stay OP on Sunday on food. Also yesterday. I'll be glad when the blueberries are gone, tho. I love them, but as long as I have them I feel like I need to eat them and only like them w/ yogurt - breakfast - so breakfast is getting a bit monotonous.

So far today I've had...you guessed it....yogurt, kashi & blueberries. I did my 4 mi WATP this morning and if DD wants to go to Baskin Robbins tonight, it will be WALKING!

On the subject of walking.....
I went to the Dr. about my ankle yesterday. It was interesting. I had it rebuilt in 1976 and have not seen xrays since. It looks like it is full of Bullet holes! Since muscle and tendon don't show on xray it is just a bunch of holes. Really weird! He said he doesn't think there is any tendon/ligament damage. Says most of the pain I feel is due to tight calf muscles. Said they can exert so much force on the foot that the foot will actually break and that is happens often in people with poor feeling in their feet since they don't feel the pain. So, he gave me a brace to wear for support and a bunch of stretching exercises and I'm to go back after a month if I'm not seeing improvement. That was good news!

Yesterday was a non-day. Up at 5:30, make breakfasts, pack lunches, get DD up and off for school. DH comes home immediately and says DD doesn't have her ID Badge, but he left her to get on the bus anyway (if they go without it, it is 1 day In school suspension immediately). So I tell him to go back and get her as we're not doing that. He literally gets her off the bus. We finally find the badge and he wants me to take her to school - I'm still in pjs, not near ready for the Dr. appts I needed to leave for in less than 10 min. I finally argued him into taking her. My normal 20 min drive to Dr. took almost an hour, but I stopped at Starbucks en route.

First appt was for my BP - this time 130/85, but he now believes I am a 'white coat' as I took in the requested readings and all were below 120/80. Then upstairs to the foot Dr. After that I ran past 3 other Starbucks to look for the Endangered Species Bears - NONE!!! BOO HOO!!! I collect their bears and was told our stores weren't going to carry them anymore, so I stopped looking!

Then home to try to get something done. On the way I ended up stuck in Balloon Fiesta Set Up traffic and got between to LOONEY RV drivers who decided to try to BACK down a Highway. Most of them will come in on Thurs Night so DS16 is NOT riding his cycle to gym. These are like Semi sized RVs with ELDERLY drivers - they can't see my car let alone a cycle! (enough ranting, but really!) They pay an average of $200/night to park their RV's and there is a minimum of 14 nights, and when they hit town, the think they OWN the town!

Finally home, I am too exhausted to get on Ebay, and it is already 1 p.m. - I left at 7! So I took a 45 min nap. Then started the ebay sort for the day, and DD13 is already home from school. Supervise her homework, get things pulled and looked up in my book and have to take her to DH for fencing. I just get to DH work and get a call from 'Home'. DS19. They towed his car to another guy's house and worked on it from 9 Sun night til 6 Mon morning. It was not the fuel pump. Someone put something VERY bad in his gas tank. They blew it out, and it was running, but not real well as clumps were still coming thur the engine. He was looking for oil to change his oil again, HEET, and engine flush - like I have these things. So I finally get home thru traffic, take him to buy this stuff in my car. Back home and pick up DS16 so if we have to push I have help. Follow DS19 back to where his car can be worked on. It is now dark and we are on back roads and DS19 gets LOST!!!!!

Then DS16 reminds me its almost 8:30 and he hasn't eaten since 2 - can we go to Chick Fil A. So we get food, get home at 9 and I head to the computer. Just bring up the first screen and in walk DD and DH who need the big computer to work on Science Fair.....Oh well.....No ebay or DIS for me!!

Finally got DD done with Science Fair homework at 10:45, off to bed. At 11:27 the doorbell rings. DS19....again. He is after his computer as the DVD Burner where he is staying went down and they just downloaded a movie they wanted to burn and watch. At midnight DH decides it is a good time to begin discussing all of DS19's shortcomings in finding a job. This goes on until 12:30. And, I was up again at 5:30 this morning!

I am BUSHED!!!!!!! So, my agenda for the rest of today is #1. NAP #2. EBAY #3 GO TO BED!!! Will it happen.....I wouldn't put money on it!

Wow Julie!
What a whirlwind you have been living in!! Proud of you for just keeping up with it all!
Hope you get some relaxation time soon!! AKA Sleep! :goodvibes

Mike :sunny:

I did get about an hour nap in before the phone woke me. It helped. DH worked late interviewing people so DD and I had baked potatoes w/ turkey chili & cheese for dinner (8). Lunch was turkey(2), lt bread (1.5) baked lays (2). DD and I walked (much to her dismay) to Baskin Robbins & Back home - 4.25 miles!!!! So I worked for my 3 pts of sf, ff, choc choc chip ice cream! I can't believe I did another 75 min of exercise today. Bet I feel it in the morning!

Off to finally do Ebay.

HAve a good night!

I'm so sorry to hear about your foot/ankle, but hopefully you can get that cleared up soon!

Good for you getting all that exercise in and staying OP despite all of the activity and stress going on around you.

Hi Julie!!!!

That is awesome on your walking.

I read your receipe on the nachos in Cam's journal and that sounds awesome!!! I am definitly going to have to try that. I love nachos.......Thanks!

Keep up the good work and have a great Wednesday!

Today is going to end up busy beyond belief!

We are getting our first cold front, which translated means high wind/thunderstorms which means DS16 can't ride his motorcycle to gym. So, I will leave here at 10, take him to work, back home to quickly pull/box ebay, back to pick him up at 2, take him across town to gym. Rush home to pick up DD at bus stop in storm, home, then finish packing ebay, mail ebay, take her to DH for fencing, go wait at the gym for DS to finish - I'll go walk thru Whole foods and go get a Starbucks for dinner. Then back home to list ebay.

Never a dull moment!

Go Exercise, REDS!!

Ok, which one of you has massive quantities of high power PD????? :wizard:

The rain stopped, sky cleared, so I sent DS16 at least to work on his cycle. He can always leave it there and I can take him to gym and pick it up on the way home.

And, it was record time in finding the Ebay stuff that needed mailed today from my containers & ebay closet.

YEAH!!!

Not quite 10:30 and I'm ready to begin boxing!!!

I may even take a quick trip to Big Lots.

Now if the rain will hold off until about 7:30 tonight we'll be doing really well!!

Breakfast was 2 ww tort, egg beaters, ff chz - (4).

No clue what the rest of the day will bring.

That was me with the Pixie Dust... ;)
jk lol

Hope today is a great one!

Julie -- AWESOME on the walk, hon! I bet you felt GREAT eating something you'd earned!

Thank you for the great recipes in my journal. How thoughtful of you to share your great ideas! Now if you could just magically transport some of your incredible energy levels and motivation to me, that would be true friendship! ;)

When you get a chance, PM me your ebay user id. I am on ebay constantly and would LOVE to shop your items! I wish I had the energy and motivation and time to list the wardrobes worth of clothes I have in size 24w, 22w, 20w and now many of my 18w's that are too big. I have so many items that are lauren, jjill, sag harbor, chaus, etc. and hate to donate them to goodwill, especially when I am constantly looking for new stuff on ebay. Maybe this weekend, while DH and and DS are away and DD is busy, I may find some motivation to list a couple of items and "test the waters", so to speak.

Have a great day, Julie!

Picked DS16 up at work and dropped at gym. They're now prediction 60 mph winds and lg hail. Not exactly cycle weather.

DD is working on homework and we're about to leave to mail packages and drop her w/ DH for fencing. I'll just have to ebay when I get home about 7:45.

Lunch 2 2pt turkey sand (4) baked lays (2) sf mint (1) So I have 11 left not using AP's. Plenty for a Starbucks and a snack later. YEAH!!!

Off to try to get something else done before I have to leave!

Hi Julie!

I wanted to drop by and thank you so much for your support. I hope you know how much I appreciate you. :goodvibes

Are you having a crazy-busy Thursday? If so, I'll send you some :wizard: to help you get through it all. My Thursday has been very low key... I'm not feeling well. :(

Take good care of you, okay?

Thanks, Tracy!

Yes, yesterday was a crazy day, but not a bad day, all in all.

It was very cold and rainy so I had to take DS16 to work. Dropped him, went and did 45 min of Mall Walking before it opened. WHAT and EXPERIENCE!!! I entered and made it about 4 stores past the food court when I was stopped by a group of 'blue hairs' who asked me what I thought I was doing. 'Walking the mall for exercise, just like you!' I was promptly and loudly told that I 'did NOT belong' and I was 'NOT one of 'our' SET' and that I was not welcome and should leave. I was happy to point out that it is a public venue, open to anyone who wanted to use it to walk in the mornings. Security soon showed up and made the 'blue hairs' leave me alone! It was TOO FUNNY!!!!

So, after that I shopped for about an hour, put DD some pants on hold. Ran to the fabric store and spent WAY too much on bonded denim/fleece to make covers for the dog cages for winter, make them cage liners and pajamas (YES, they wear pjs!)

Off to pick DS16 up and drop him at gymnastics, get gas (found a station near the gym at $2.64, and who can resist gas that cheap!! :rotfl: )

Home to throw veggie chili in the pot, potty the dogs and take DD to the mall - just to run in to Foley's - yeah, right!! My quick trip turned into 2.5 hours. But I did find her 1 pair of pants for school, 4 ls shirts and 2 sweaters that she will actually wear. On the fun side we each got a pair of windpants & matching tops (hers navy/lime, mine orange/grey) Ran to WM to get more veggie meat for the chili. Made it home at 6:15, DH & DS16 walked in at 6:45. That was close!!

Then I did ebay and had to pin up DD's choir dress for formal pics today. She's in the back so I didn't have to hem it, that will be this weekend.

So, this morning. Breakfast 3 mini scones - 4 pts.

Did WATP 4 mi and my foot/ankle is KILLING me! DNiece just called from FL and they admitted her sister (pregnant one) to the hospital. Pre preg she had never weighed over 105 lbs and her arms/legs have always looked like toothpicks (this is the one who was offered the job as Barbie at DW and turned it down). Her legs are now much bigger than her mom's and on her DR visit Wed her BP was up a lot (for her - we'd consider it almost normal, but it was up over 40 pts) and there was protein in her urine. So she went back today and DR is sending her in. Apparently they will induce tomorrow. Baby is due 10/17, so not too bad. Please keep them both in prayers. They say Kylie is already about 6 lbs so all should be fine.

Today is the beginning of Balloon fiesta. If you want to see some cool pics/info the website is www.aibf.org . This morning was the 'school' launch w/ balloons going off simultaneously from EVERY school - public /private in ABQ and Rio Rancho. Tomorrow is the first 'mass ascension'. I think it will be about 800 balloons. Balloon Fiesta park is directly across the street from DH work, so we get passes to park in their lot and stand at the bridge and watch w/o going down into the 'bowl' the park sits in and paying. DD will likely talk me into going next Fri at about 4:30 a.m. for Special Shapes day. I'll try to post some links to some of our pics. Usually I can see/count about 400 from my house on any given day. It is really something to see.

So, today is Ebay, start the laundry and tonight is a HS Fencing tournament. This weekend is more of the same. My goal is to get enough done so that when DD is off school next F & M we can change out clothes, I can get sewing done for dogs and we can chill a bit. Time will tell.

Have a great weekend, all!! REDS..... GO EXERCISE!!!!!
