Julie & Brian's Disneyland Wedding (9/2011) Sleeping Beauty Theme

I actually do NOT like seafood at all!!!! So I wouldn't like either of those dishes. :guilty: I know I'm in the minority. DF looooooves lobster and eats it whenever he can get the chance. Me, I prefer an option of steak or chicken. I went to a wedding recently where I got the chicken, DF got the steak, and our friend got the vegetarian dish (pasta with veggies). I tried all three and the veggie dish blew the meat dishes out of the water. It was sooo good! I wished I had requested it. So you just never know! You'll have to taste everything and then go with what you like best. :goodvibes

Mindy, I am not surprised, I have known people who don't like it. The nice thing with a dual plate is that you get both steak and something else, so those who don't like the seafood can have the steak at least and not be hungry. The veggie dish you mentioned reminded me I need to check on the vegetarian options! I almost forgot and I have at least 2 coming!

I wish it wasn't 7 months away, grrr! It sucked to have had it scheduled before the postponement and we were only about 2 weeks away. Arg! Guess I'll just have to take a trip to SH55 or Napa Rose to tide me over. ;)

How are you loving your ring?!

My BFF is vegan so I have to deal with that when the time comes ..... whenever we go to Disneyland we have great difficulty finding decent meal options so I'm hoping reception options will be more accommodating.

I still :lovestruc my ring, I keep looking down at it to make sure it's still there ... lol

Just a quick update...DF contacted our fabulous wedding planner via email today regarding meeting up with her, but he also stressed my worries about the Pavilion. She wrote back with lightning speed and assured us that the work there will be done around May, so we should be all good. Whew!:woohoo: I am so excited now that everything seems to be going right on track. Initially my parents weren't going to be able to contribute terribly much, but the amounts that each is utilizing has increased, so I am feeling pretty good. The last thing I need to do is get a job!:scared1: More to come, just so busy with Christmas for the moment. ;)

Wow I have much respect for your BFF, that is tough. I couldn't live without steak though :upsidedow It is surprising to me that there are not more options at DL, hmmm. I know you can pre-arrange meals at certain locations with the chef. They try to be accommodating, but they need so much time that it isn't convenient if you are just going for a day trip. You will be amazed at all the options for your reception. I am sure there will be a perfectly delectable dish for any vegan or vegetarian guests you may have in attendance. ;)

So glad you love your ring...So important as a constant reminder of your love!! I can't wait to have one again. I get to hopefully start the process on getting mine made in mid-late January!:goodvibes

The tank tops I ordered arrived last week and the decals arrived yesterday! I am going to work on the tanks after Christmas and post pics, YAY!!

YAY! I want to make shirts/tanks, too, so I can't wait to see how yours turn out!!!!

:bday: Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday dear Julie, Happy Birthday to yoooooou! And many mooooooooore!! :cake: :goodvibes

We are doing a duo plate for our wedding, and they also gave us the option of having double meat or double seafood for the same price- that way all of our guests could have what they really wanted. Friend who doesn't eat meat? Double Salmon! Friend who is allergic to fish? Double Beef! It made the menu choices a lot easier :goodvibes

Sorry I have been MIA for a bit. Thank you so much for the Birthday wishes, they were very sweet! I also appreciate the advice on the dual plated option of double meat or double fish. Quite smart!

Not much to update on the wedding end of things. Brian and I had a lovely Christmas together. I received this ornament that I think is absolutely perfect.

Then we went to Big Bear for my birthday, that was when everything went haywire!

Brian is actually in surgery today, I am trying to do things (like DISboards) to take my mind off of it. We were snowboarding on a day after it was quite warm and the snow began to melt, then it froze overnight. Apparently it was like ice everywhere. On the first run down the hill he fell forward placing all his weight on his elbow to cushion the fall. That shot up through his bone, shattered his humerus, dislocated his shoulder and did something to damage his rotator cuff. We have been passed through 3 hospitals and finally got a limb salvage specialist to operate. He is having the irreparable bone removed and either cadaver bone or a graft from his hip put into his arm with pins and a metal plate, also they are stitching back together the damaged ligaments and tendons. It was supposed to be a 4 hour surgery but it has been 8 and he still isn't out. He was also supposed to come home tonight and they are keeping him overnight. I am a little worried, hopefully good news to come. His recovery time should be one year, so I am concerned about dance lessons and silly things like that, but if we can't, at least we will be married. The funny thing is I always feared that something horrific would happen to me the week of the wedding, car accident, broken leg, etc. Hope this is the only thing and it is out of the way now, with several months left to recover.

But on the upside, I am soooo excited that 2011 is here and there is only 9 months to go!:yay:

Im so sorry to hear about Brians accident but I'm sure he'll be just fine!! Sending lots of pixie dust your way!! pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:

Umm... Ouch? :scared1:Sounds like quite an ordeal!! So glad he got out of surgery and is doing well!! :)

Can't wait to keep following your plans! :goodvibes

Glad everything with your DF is ok now!! Hopefully you can get back to your PJ as I'm sure it's been distracting you.

Can't wait to read more about your plans!! :goodvibes

 Oh no! Poor Brian!!!
Wish him well, and I hope he has a speedy recovery!!!

Can't wait to read more of your wedding plans soon! I've missed them!!! :goodvibes

DisFriends are always so kind! Thank you so much for your understanding and support. It has been so crazy this month. Brian is recovering well, however I am also packing up our house which is keeping me busy, but I am so missing you all. I have decided to reward myself after packing a room with some time on here for me! :) :yay:

So I have been pursuing pictures of various candy buffets and I came across the perfect one! It keeps with the theme and is pink and blue, down to the split tablecloth. Right now we have the candy buffet with a pink satin tablecloth, but I have a meeting in February and I am going to see if they can split it like this one! (Minus the pink daisies I think.)

I am also trying to decide on the labels for the take away containers. I found large Chinese Takeout boxes in pastel pink and blue. I was thinking of using the same label I used for the mailers. Maybe in a heart shape or in a circle with our names and date added somewhere.

Still working on the candy, I have purchased all the glassware and I will post pictures soon!

Thank you! I wasn't sure if it was too much or not, but I am glad you think it is cute!! I also love when I go to parties with candy buffets, they are pretty, but I am such a candy junkie! LOL Any suggestions on types of candy or your favorites? I definitely want rock candy...:goodvibes
