I just wanted to say hi! I'm following around the Disneyland brides and I am floored by the Sleeping Beauty Pavilion. It's so beautiful.
Hopefully, I will be on here soon with my own PJ.

Hi Shananana!! Welcome:flower3:! I take it you are going to be a DL bride as well? I agree, the SB Pavilion is such a great venue! Soo excited to be married there. I can't wait to start following your PJ!! ;)

Awww, sad day, they had one at the AA in Brea on December 10th I think. I made an appointment but when they called back they mentioned that little thing about the sizes and that there was only 1 of each dress, so I decided not to go. I do want to buy one now, for our in park photoshoot, but I don't know how AA works, how far you need to order them, etc. I so would have gone with you though, it would have been fun. If another comes up, it is a date! ;) Oh and yes, mum's the word, LOL

Yay! My bridesmaid dresses came in, so I went to the boutique to pick them up with my cousin and bridesmaid Jenny. I was so relieved that all the dresses were in the correct colors. When I first ordered them about a week later I realized the paperwork was wrong so I called and asked for them to be fixed. The owner said she would be sure to fix that and call me back. I never heard back, but I just hoped and prayed and as it turned out they were all right! 2-blue, 2-pink, 1-green! Woo-hoo! It was so nice to see the full dress in the right color in person. It is so hard to go off a swatch. The best news is that the dresses match the guys vests and bowties almost identically!!

Here are some not so great pics, but you can get the idea.

The embroidery wasn't exactly what I had hoped for, but it will do. I suppose I will also need to get the dresses altered for some of the gals just before the wedding as well as get the dresses steamed to rid them of wrinkles.

After our visit to the dress shop, Jenny, her sister and I went to have lunch at Bob's, a local favorite. (It is the oldest one in existence).

Overall it was a good day!

Wasn't Bob's on one of those travel channel food shows? That little guy looks familiar.

And I love that you went with different colors for the dresses! It's going to look gorgeous!!!

OHMYGOD, BOBS! :scared1: I haven't been there since I was about 7 years old! Sadly, they closed the one by me... :confused3

LOVE the bridesmaid dresses! :thumbsup2 So relieved for you that they match the boys too! I know that must have been unsettling for a while!!

It is true, so interesting how Weddings can bring out the best and worst in people and when it is really important your real friends stand by you. Thanks for listening to me, I just needed to vent and didn't know where else to go.

The tiara is the same as in post #31...

What do you think? Aurora-ish? Thanks for the necklace advice. ;)

I love that tiara! Do you mind if I ask where you found it? :lovestruc

Thanks lilsqueakrr, I will message you with the website and info. I think it is on here somewhere, but I have to look for it. ;o)

Seems like the time just flies by and I feel like I have abandoned everyone and have so much to catch up on. Oh how I hate that reality and life keep me so busy and get in the way. Well, let the planning continue.

I met up with my wedding planner today to go over everything. So far I am happy that things seem to be going well.

We are still searching for the perfect DJ who can also do pin lighting for our first dance. Grrrr. Aside from that we set a date for the food tasting, YAY! :cool1: July 8th! We also heard that hopefully (fingers crossed) the frosting on the glass of the Pavilion will be off for our wedding. Here is a pic of it now.

The Hotel is such a mess, the Wonder Tower is still blocked off aside from the elevator for the rooms, the Dreams Tower main lobby was being re-themed so it was closed off and the Magic Tower was blocked in and the construction was going on right then and there. They are working quickly though, the frame for the new restaurant is moving along as well as the bridge.

I am hopeful that they will finish earlier than anticipated, although that is wishful thinking. I still don't know if the pavilion will have its name changed or not before the wedding  I certainly hope not, but we will have to wait and see. DF is thinking about reserving the Big Thunder Suite for himself and his groomsmen the night before the wedding. Too bad the Princess one is gone.

We always try to visit the RCG and I was shocked, the Mickey & Minnie topiaries were gone and there were no roses in the ROSE court garden. It was sad. I understand they must prune them from time to time, but it was sad looking. I feel awful for anyone having a February wedding. The month of love and romance one would think would be popular for weddings. Just excited to see them bloom late this Spring.

Also there are new wedding items in the park, including this adorable Mickey/Minnie topper for 21.95. Also a (LE?) funky pen set. Just wanted to share.

I know in a previous post I mentioned that one of my bridesmaids stated that she wouldn't be able to make it out here because her bf couldn't get time off work and she didn't feel comfy traveling without him. I decided to ignore the situation as I couldn't deal with it at the time. She then called to tell us she could come because they were both moving back to Cali and leaving TX. I was happy, then a week ago she texts me that she is prego and due the week after the wedding. I don't know what to do. The dresses have been discontinued, I have her dress here and it has a 32 inch waist. How could I possibly make that altered to fit her at full term pregnancy? Also since this is her first could she go into labor early leaving me without a bridesmaid? She said she understood if I need to find someone else, but she is calling to get "wedding updates" often and I think she wants to be a part. I hate being the bad friend and honestly, don't know who I could ask that would fit the dress I have. What to do? September is a hot month in Cali, maybe the hottest and standing for the ceremony and such, I just want to be cautious and avoid any potential incidents. What would you guys do? Any advice would really help!!

Yay, you're back! Such a shame about the "un-rose" garden .... DF's parents are visiting and we are taking them there on Sunday to see all our venues. At least it is still pretty and as of right now it won't be raining.

You are in a tough spot with your friend. Maybe you can make her a "honorary matron of honor" and still list her in the program, but she won't stand up with you or walk down the aisle, or wear a matching gown. Especially if she still helps you with some of your planning, that way she can still get a special shout-out in the program. And if she's up for it, she can help you get ready the morning of the wedding, etc. Although if she's that far along I'm assuming she won't be able to fly.

Woohoo! So excited for the link. lol.

But as far as your bridesmaid stuff goes.. I would maybe try and see if you could find a backup? Or even just keep her in it and get her a different dress, similar to yours, and find someone who would fit into her old dress?? It's an idea.. heh.
As far as her going early, all my friends who were first time moms actually all delivered late... like weeks late. So. Hope it works out though girlie!

Thanks for the advice friends! I am ok, she has decided not to come to the wedding at all because it will be too close to her due date to travel. I am looking for another friend to replace her. I have been a busy bee purchasing goodies for the wedding. I got the I DO letters for the cake table. I purchased them from Hobby Lobby online (since we don't have any out here :( ) I was trying to purchase my earrings (Sleeping Beauty from the Kirstie Kelly line) but they have been discontinued. Advantagebridal has a few of the other princess items left. I am kinda bummed about that, but I am hopeful and will keep an eye out on ebay.

Looks like DF and I are finally going to move, after 3 months of packing and trying to figure out what the heck we are doing with life. We are moving much further than I had hoped, but within a mile of my Dad's house and my cousins, and only 10 miles or so frm DF's sister and kids. I am none to thrilled about dealing with the temperature change of the high desert, or being super far from Disneyland, but we all do what we have to. We found a really cute house we are going to see this week. Just renting, but it is 400 cheaper than the cheapest apartment we could find in LA that would allow a dog. I may be taking yet another hiatus due to disconnecting the internet when we move. We will see. Another plus to the house is that we can move everything from our storage unit to the house and save $300/month more. (All going into the wedding fund I might add).

So that is the current update. I have almost gathered all the goodies for my girls. Still struggling with jewelry and shoe ideas. Going to have to work on that more this week. Oh and we went to see a DJ last Tuesday. We really liked him, he gave a whole demo, and showed us all the lighting effects, lets us plan our hit list for the evening and has done several other Disney weddings. I was happy with him. My Mom had mentioned early this month that she had set aside a couple grand to assist with expenses and downs. I assumed we would be able to lock him in. When I got home there was a Bed, Bath & Beyond bag on my bed. I thought it was something fun, or maybe off our registry. When I opened the bag I was sadly surprised. It was a scale, with a note attached to it. The note said she would give me the money on the 25th if I could step on that scale and weigh in at 165. I was 187, so there is no way I am going to lose that much weight, but I am working and trying so hopefully I can get down enough that she will follow through. I must admit I was hurt, I know my Mom and I still wanted to cry and felt like a whale. I am 5'9 and i feel like my weight is pretty proportionate, I know I have a bit of a gut, but I am OK with myself and being without work and not knowing where we are moving and taking care of Brian and the house has been super stressful. I think it just felt like she kicked me when I was already down. I am dealing though and after discussing with my Dad, he said he will do what he can to cover things, we will have to make cuts if she doesn't come through, but at least there will be a ceremony location, ring, officiate and a man...and for the reception, a DJ and good food. The decor is just a bonus and I have to remember it is about being married to the man of my dreams. If everything isn't as perfect as I hope, then I am OK with that too. (But still holding out for something nice!) Thanks for listening to my rants!! You girls are amazing!!:grouphug:

Wow, I have a lot of things I want to say/type about your mom right now but I'll restrain myself, and just give you a hug instead.

Don't worry about trying to reach some unrealistic goal. Just do whatever you can do. With moving and DF's recovery, she should understand how much you have on your plate without adding extra stress. It's just money and it's not worth it in the overall scheme of things.

Who did you go with for your DJ? I have bookmarked a couple but it's too early obviously to start interviewing.

I have to agree with Mindy about some things I would like to say about your mom but will refrain. I am glad that you are being positive about it!!! I wish you good luck and no matter what happens you will be marrying the man of your dreams and that is all that really matters. Keep your spirits up!!!
